Passed away on June 4, 2007, Robert Badcock of St. Anthony, formerly of St. John’s, age 60 years. Leaving with a lifetime of memories wife Eleanor; mother Jean Badcock; daughter Kathy (Steven) Andrews; son Michael (Kim); grandchildren Samantha, Jared, Jordan and Allison; sister Linda (Edward) Mahon; brother Donald (Diane) Badcock; mother-in-law Minnie Genge; sisters-in-law Marion (Steven) Plishka; Bernice (Winston) Genge and Mildred (Cyril) Loder; brothers-in-law James Genge, Rufus (Sofie) Genge, Cecil (Olivia) Genge and Randell (Bertha) Genge; Aunt Gladys and Aunt Marg; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; special friends Henry and Verna Rose and Barbara and Ross Tucker. Visitation took place at K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony. The Funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 7 at the Anglican Church in St. Anthony with Rev. Canon Jean Brenton-Hickman officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, Funeral director.

BUCKLE, Thomas P.
Forteau

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Thomas Buckle announces his passing at the long term care unit in Forteau on June 4, 2007 at the age of 81 years. Leaving to mourn brother Wilfred; sister-in-law Margaret and their children Caroline, Rosita, Darren, Dwight and Leona, and their families with whom he resided for 33 years; also bothers Jack and Edward (Sylvia); sister Alice Lee (James) and a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Ambrose and Caroline buckle and sisters Julie O’Brien and Annette Marshall. Visitation took place at the Roman Catholic Church Chapel in West St. Modeste on Tuesday and Wednesday from where the funeral service took place at 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 7 with Fr. Tim Moriarity officiating. Interment followed in the Our Lady of Labrador Church Cemetery in L’Anse au Loup. As expressions of sympathy flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Homes Ltd., L’Anse au Loup.

PAYNE, Warren Philip
Cow Head
Dec. 20, 1955 - June 6, 2007

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Warren Payne announces his passing on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in his 51st year. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Genevieve (nee House); two sons Jamie and Justin (Alicia); father Edgar Payne, two sisters Evelyn (Rodney) and Wanda (Barry); father and mother-in-law Douglas and Alice House; sisters-in-law Bertha, Amelia, Linda (Lewis) and Juanita (Clem); brothers-in-law Reg (Joyce), Douglas (Maureen) and Otto (Adelaide), as well as a large circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers in Labrador City. Warren was predeceased by his mother Eileen Payne, grandparents Gerald and Helen Payne and brother-in-law Archibald House. Visitation took place at St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Cow Head on Thursday and Friday from where the Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 16 with Canon Olsson officiating. Interment followed at the family plot. By request of the family, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial Regional Hospital in lieu of flowers. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Harrison Oscar Wentzell announces his passing on Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in his 79th year. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Freda (nee Wilton); his seven children Marjorie (Cecil) of Pasadena, Leslie (Paulette) of Daniel’s Harbour, Ross (Paulette) of Milton, Ontario, Boyd (Daphne) of Daniel’s Harbour, Brent (Michelle) of Cow Head, Faye (Paul) of Mississauga, Ontario and Gail (Todd) of Cow Head; 14 grandchildren Byron, Ryan, (Angela), Damien, Jamie (Kathleen), Tracey-Lynn (Ian), Gregory, Robyn, Sara, Paul, Victoria, Christopher, Randy, Samantha and Dustin; two great-grandchildren Mackenzie and Alyssa; one sister Betty (David) of Corner Brook; sisters-in-law Hannah Pittman of Daniel’s Harbour, Maude Wentzell and Barbara Wentzell, both of Charlottetown and Olga Wentzell of Daniel’s Harbour; two brothers-in-law Raymond Wilton of Daniel’s Harbour and William Penney of Carbonear; his special friends Angus (Madeline) of Corner Brook and Sim (Maxine) of St. John’s, also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Margaret, parents Asaph and Julia, bothers Stedman, William, Ralph, Asaph Jr. and Jerry, sisters Jessie May and Zelpha, mother-in-law Irene, brother-in-law George and sister-in-law Olive. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Daniel’s Harbour on Saturday from where the Funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 10 with Rev. James Beaton officiating. SIMMS, Winnie G. (nee Waye)
Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex on Saturday, June 9th, 2007, Winnie Simms aged 83 years. Leaving to mourn are husband: Frank Simms; sons: Bob, Shannon (Trudy), Dean (Melanie); daughter: Sherry; grandchildren: Robin, Carrie, Frank, Johnny, Shannon Jr., Leon Jr., Travis, Frankie, and Kristen, as well as many other relatives and dear friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Monday from 1-9 pm. and Tuesday from 10-12 noon. Funeral Service will be held at Barrett’s Chapel on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at 3:00 pm. Passed away on June 10, 2007, Wilfred Randell, age 70 years. Leaving to mourn wife Emma of Bide Arm; sons Wally Randell of Kitchener, Ontario and Dawson Randell of Sylvan Lake, Alberta; daughters Ina (Steve) Hart of Vancouver, British Columbia, Cynthia Pittman of Cook’s Harbour and Carol (Junior) Hancock of New Dundee, Ontario; brothers Naamen (Shirley) Randell and Harvey (Margaret) Randell, both of Bide Arm, and Randolph (Anna) Randell of Englee; sisters Ettie (Percy) Hopkins of Bide Arm and Lucy (Garland) Stuckey of Pike’s Arm; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation took place at the Apostolic Faith Church in Bide Arm from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13 with Pastor Quinlan officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

PLOWMAN, Nelson Patrick
Port au Choix

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nelson Plowman announces his passing on Friday, June 15, 2007 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 81 years. Leaving to mourn his children Terry (Irene), Millage (Evelyn), Martha (Hank), Andy (Maxine), Verlyn and Michael; grandchildren Brian, Michael, Loretta (Brad), Jamie, Ivan (Sandi), Gary, Kimberly, Michelle, Teddy, Trisha and Adriene; great-grandchildren Victoria, Madison, Callem, Keithon, Colin, Jeremy, Alicia, Chantal and Abby, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Inez. The family received friends at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church in Port au Choix on Saturday and Sunday from where the Funeral service took place at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 18 with Fr. Jim Robertson officiating. Interment followed in the Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix.

CASSELL, Andrew
Bide Arm

Passed away on June 16, 2007, Andrew Cassell, age 86 years. He leaves to mourn sons Rene (Della) Cassell of Roddickton and Andrew Cassell of Waterloo, Ontario; daughters Tamer (Ralph) Randell of Bide Arm and Marcy (Craig) Cassell of Fort McMurray, Alberta; sisters Mildred Canning of Comfort Cove, Metta (Jack) Kennedy of Roddickton, Carrie Mae Arsenault of Ontario and Harriet (Robert) Parsons of Roddickton; brother Hubert (Dorcas) Cassell of Kitchener, Ontario; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and many other relatives and friends. Visitation took place at the Apostolic Faith Church in Bide Arm from where the Funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19 with Pastor Quinlan officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, Funeral director.

ROBERTS, Hazel
Forteau

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hazel Roberts announces her passing at the Labrador South Health Centre in Forteau on June 17, 2007 at the age of 63 years, after a long battle with cancer. Leaving to mourn with loving memories her mom Melsie Roberts; sister Marie Hancock (Leonard); brothers William (Sophie), George (Jenesta), Warren (Marie), Harold and their families, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her father Maxwell Roberts. The family received visitors at the United Church in Forteau on Monday and Tuesday from where the Funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20 with Rev. Dean Sellars officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery in Forteau. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, L’Anse au Loup.

BRIDGER, Eileen (Nee Quinlan)
St. Anthony

Passed away on June 19, 2007, Eileen Bridger, age 55 years. Leaving with a lifetime of memories children Greg (Jackie) Quinlan, Rhonda (George) Randell, Madeline (Derrick) Rumbolt and Margaret (Warrick) Warren; grandchildren Megan, Kayla, Tiffany, Jack, Shane, Savannah, Dustin, Montie, Shyanne and Leroy; great-grandchildren Leaha, Austin, Blade and Trai. She was predeceased by her daughter Pearl and her parents Annie and Hayward Quinlan. Visitation took place at K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony. The Funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 22 at the Anglican Church in St. Anthony with Rev. Diane Smith officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Cook’s Harbour. HILL, Clayton
Gunner’s Cove

It is with great sorrow that the family of Clayton W. Hill of Gunner’s Cove, announces his passing on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at Curtis Memorial Hospital at the age of 72 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Faye (nee Compton); children Penny (Chris), Janet (Bryan), Tony (Karen) and Nicole (Tom); grandchildren Natalie, Kimmy, Samantha, Clay, Stephen, Jessica and Dannielle; one great-granddaughter Aleaha; sisters Mae, Ethel, Vi (Carl), Louise (Fred) and Doris (Joe); brothers Art (Blanche) and Abe (Selma); numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces and a large circle of other family members and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Jacob and Phoebe Hill, brother Frank, sisters Gertie and Sybil, three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law. Visitation took place at Central United Church on Sunday and Monday from where the Funeral took place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26. Interment followed in the Central United Cemetery. GOULD, Elizabeth (Nee Cunard)
Bear Cove, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elizabeth “Liz” Gould announce her passing on Sunday, June 24th, 2007 at her family residence surrounded by her loving family at the age of 53 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Donald, daughters: Tannis (Stedman Jr.) Letto and Tamara (Gaydon Jr.) White, son Donald Jr. “Donnie" (Sheila), grandchildren: Mallory, Rebekah and Maccoy, sisters: Mary Ann (Eric) Lidstone and Hepsey Shepard, brothers: Grant (Elsie), Wallace (Rita), Eli (Phyllis), Eric (Ann) and Terry (Shirley). Sisters-in-law: Rita (Ken) Drover, Virtue (Abe) Moores and Lavenia Hughes, brothers-in-law: Max (Blanche) and Paschel (Evelyn). As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Jacob and Sarah Fanny, 2 brothers, 1 sister, father and mother-in-law Andrew and Bridget. Visitation was held at St. Boniface Anglican Church, Bear Cove on Monday evening and Tuesday from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday, June 27th, 2007 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Steve Maki officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted. Passed away on June 24, 2007, Elsie Decker, age 77 years. Leaving to mourn children Wayne (Beverly), Lorne (JC) Normadeau, Roger (Leah), Garry (Darlene), Wanda (Andy) Lockhart, Glen (Shelley), Patsy (Bob) Elliott, Joy (John) Harper, Carol Ann (Carl) McQuid and Gail (Martin) Hynes; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She also shared life with numerous other relatives, along with many friends. She was predeceased by her husband Hedley, mother Sadie, father Reuben and brother Baxter. Visitation took place at the United Church in Ship Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27 with Rev. Pendleton officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, Funeral director.

Passed away on June 28, 2007, Samuel Gaulton, age 74 years. Leaving to mourn wife Susie; daughter Ivy (Dennis); special nephew Isaac (Olive); Georgette, Martin, Rain and Sheena; sisters Eliza Hodge and Kitty Applin; sisters-in-law Sarah Hodge, Ada Warren (Garfield) and Nora Noseworthy. He was predeceased by brothers George Gaulton and Ike Gaulton. Visitation took place at St. Mark’s Anglican Church from where the Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 2 with Rev. Maki officiating. Interment followed at the K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lizeta Bargery announce her passing on Friday, June 29th, 2007 at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre, Port Saunders in her 74th year. Leaving to mourn her daughters: Connie (Bill) Powell and Sharon (Doug) Thomas of Port au Choix, grandchildren: Kelly, Sandee, Stephanie and Amy, sisters: Gertrude and Glenda Gould, Port au Choix, Marilyn (John) Dawe, Mount Pearl, brother Anthony (Nora) Gould, Codroy Valley, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Eric, son Fintan, sister Barbara, brothers Fintan, Gabriel, Alfred and Jean. The family received friends from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix on Saturday and Sunday 3-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service took place at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church on Monday, July 2nd at 10:00 AM with Father Jim Robertson officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove.
