Passed away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony on
July 2, 2008, Blanche Fillier, age 71 years. Leaving to mourn husband
Alvin Fillier; sons Donald Fillier (Shawna) and Robert Fillier (Thirza);
daughters June Brenton (James), Loretta Webber (Clarence), Gladys
Brown (Wayne) and Rosalind Fillier (Morgan); 13 grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; and brother Wesley Colbourne (Ida). He was predeceased
by son Austin Fillier and daughter Verna Fillier. Visitation was
held at the Pentecostal Church in Englee from where the funeral service
was held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 4, with Pastor Angell officiating.
Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were
entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton.

Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony
on July 5, 2008, Victor Noble, age 82 years. Leaving to mourn his
wife of 62 years Bertha; children Rita (Bob) McKenzie, Marion,
Don (Donna), Reuben (Ruby), Cliff (Judy), Dave (Shelly), Terry,
Rick (Loretta), Gladys (Loren) Campbell and Sheila (Rick) Elliott,
as well as 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He also
leaves to mourn two sisters Doris and Vera and a large circle of
family and friends. He was predeceased by two infant sons, Sidney
and Cecil, his parents Reuben and Mary, stepmother Laura, sister
Eunice and brothers Wilfred, Pearce and Eric. Visitation took place
at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony. The funeral service
was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at the United Church
in St. Anthony with Rev. John McGonigle officiating. Interment
followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted

It is with great sadness that the family of the late James
Johnson announces his passing on Wednesday,
July 9, 2008 at the Interfaith
Home for Seniors, Corner Brook, at the age of 81 years. He leaves
to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Wanda (Matthew)
Rumbolt, Pasadena, Anita Galandy, Calgary, Alberta and Randy (Patti),
Chestermere, Alberta; grandchildren: Geoffrey, Perry, Jimmy, Max,
Tyler, Benjamin and Zoey. As well as a large circle of nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his
wife Virginia; sisters Susan, Emma, Elsie, Martha and Berdina;
and brothers Dudley and Leaton. Visitation was held at the K.M.
Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony. The funeral service was held
on Monday, July 14, 2008, at 2 p.m. from the Anglican Church, St.
Anthony with Rev. Canon Jean Brenton-Hickman officiating. Interment
followed at the Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers

He was predeceased by his brother Melvin, brother-in-law Dave and
sister-in-law Ann. The family received friends at St. Andrews Anglican
Church Lower Cove on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from where
funeral service took place on Friday 2 p.m. with Rev Dianne Smith
officiating. Internment followed at Anglican Cemetery Eddies Cove

Passed away at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on July
15, 2008. Florence Patey of Griquet, age 79 years. Leaving to mourn sons
Anthony (Wanda), Garry (Gail), George (Terry) and Junior (Trixie);
daughters Gloria (Don), Edna (Bruce), Sharon (Nelson) and Pam (Kim);
stepdaughters Karen (Terry) and Jean (Hebert); brother Winston (Vida);
sisters Lottie, Madge (Joe), Minnie, Cassie (Allan), Sylvia (Ron),
Annie (Roland) and Flossie (Freeman); 33 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren
and a large number of nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by
husband Ralph Bussey in 1962, and second husband Sidney Patey in
2000, stepson Ronald Patey in 2000. Visitation took place at Calvary
Pentecostal Tabernacle in St.Lunaire-Griquet from where the funeral
service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 18 with Pastor Primmer,
Pastor Rogers and Rev. Pendleton officiating. Interment followed

Myers announces his passing on Saturday, July

Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 94 years. Leaving to
mourn sons Calvin (Kathleen) and Thomas (Eileen) of Port au Choix,
and Edward (Winnie) of Avondale; daughters Olive (Frank) of Pigeon
Cove and Annie of Port au Choix; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren;
brother Patrick (Mercedes) Myers of Bartlett’s Harbour, and
a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He
was predeceased by his wife Annie. Visitation took place at Fillatre’s
Funeral Home, Port au Choix on Saturday and Sunday. The funeral service
was held at Sacred Heart Church in Bartlett’s Harbour at 2
p.m. on Monday, July 21 with Fr. Edmund Camacho officiating. Interment
followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Bartlett’s Harbour.

She is predeceased by husband James and brothers Richard and Robert. Visitation
was held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel from where the funeral service was
held on Monday, July 21, 2008. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic

(Bernice) and Evelyn; 20 grandchildren: Franklin, Rudy, Martin,
Larry, Mark, Jason, Joseph, Joni, Tina, Angela, Bobby, Desmond,
Rocky, Derek, Stephanie, Tara, Sandi, Katelynn, Jennifer and Silas;
15 great-grandchildren: Tasha, Kelsey, Kristen, Shane, Ashley,
Amber, Morgan, Matthew, Meghan, Ashton, Morgan, Hillary, Frederick,
Taylor, James and Tyler; siblings: Albert and Hannah, as well as

She was predeceased by son Wilby, parents Agnes and Ambrose Blanchard,
brothers Johnny, Ken and Jimmy, and sisters Mertle, Hulda and Maudie.
Visitation took place at the family residence in Parsons Pond on
Monday evening and Tuesday. The funeral service was held at St.
Peter’s Anglican Church in Parsons
Pond on Wednesday, July 23 at 2:00 p.m. Interment followed at the

with the burial following at the Roman Catholic Church Cemetery

(Warren) Coates announces her passing on July 29,

Leaving to mourn her husband of 61 years, Philip Coates Sr.; Wavey
(Paul) Bevan, Gloria Mah, and Dean (Lynn) Coates; sister Elsie (Leonard)
Elliott; brothers Clayton (Gladys) Warren and Garfield (Ada) Warren;

11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2. Interment followed in the cemetery of
Jehovah’s Witnesses in Cook’s Harbour. The family of
