BUCKLE, Edna
Passed away peacefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Jan. 1, 2013, Mrs. Edna Buckle of Forteau, NL, in her 83rd year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories sons Mervin (Brenda), and Morris; daughters Jennie (Tom), and Muriel; three grandchildren; one brother Abraham (Jose) Genge, and a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by husband Baxter, two daughters Sandra, and Beryl. Visitation was held at the Gospel Hall, English Point from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, with Mr. Francis Barney and Bert Belben officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

COATES, Dorman Winston
Passed away suddenly on Jan. 13, 2013 at the age of 71 years, Mr. Dorman W. Coates of Main Brook, NL. Dorman leaves behind with loving memories his spouse Mary; daughters Carol Lynn (Mike), and Tammy (Richard); sons Ian (Meaghan), and Tyson (Sherry); sisters Marion, Eileen, Christine, and Patsy; brothers Leonard and Edward; grandchildren Kevin, Katelyn, Victoria, Julian, Aidan, Logan, and Maria, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. Dorman lived to see the passing of his mother Gertie and father Clarence as well as his sister Jeannette. Visitation was held at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Main Brook, from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16 with Rev. Harold Harvey and Lay Person Audrey Coates officiating. Burial followed at the Anglican Church Cemetery, Main Brook. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

DAWE, Stella Marie
Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Jan. 22, 2013, Mrs. Stella Dawe of Main Brook, NL, in her 89th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter Elsie (Bernard); grandchildren Brent (Kiley), Blair, and Amy (Chris); great-grandchildren Sophie, and Ella, as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Edward, and parents William and Lydia Reid. Visitation was held at the funeral home followed by a short visitation at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Main Brook, from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25 with Rev. Harold Harvey officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Main Brook. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

HODDINOTT, Ralph Albert
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Pastor Ralph Hoddinott of Brig Bay, NL, announce his passing on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 at John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony at the age of 79 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his sons Gary (May), Thunder Bay, Edwin (Hilda), Anchor Point, David (Valerie), Northern Arm, Danny (Janice), Vaughn, Ontario, and Merrill (Karen), St. John's; grandchildren Andy (Jennifer), Blair, Michael (Megan), Katrina, Joshua, Terri, and Tonya; great-granddaughter Kennedy; brothers Pleman (Olga), and Harvey; sisters Vivian, Judy, Marion, Loretta (Ben), and Dulcie (David); sister-in-law Georgina, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Blanche, parents William and Maude, siblings Clyde, Gordon, and Susan, in-laws Frank, Amy, Laverne, Gervase, Stephen, and Isaac. Visitation took place from Evangel Pentecostal Church in Brig Bay on Wednesday and Thursday from where the funeral service took place on Friday. Jan 11 with Pastor Trevor Deering officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.

HORWOOD, William Hector
It is with great sadness that the family of the late William Horwood (Oct. 11, 1942 - Jan. 7, 2013) of L'Anse au Clair, NL, announce his passing on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's at the age of 70 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Margaret; daughter Mona (Roderick) of Happy Valley; sons Sheldon (Catriona) of Happy Valley, and John (Tanya) of Grand Falls; grandchildren Sondra (Carlos), Scott, Matthew, Michael, Mackenzie, Jack, Robyn, and Maggie; great-grandson Cohen; brothers Albert (Iris) of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia; and Ernie (Barbara) of Campbell River, British Columbia; nieces, nephews, and a large circle of other family and friends. His memorial service took place at St. Andrew's Church in L'Anse au Clair on Saturday, Jan. 12. The Interment of ashes will take place in L'Anse au Clair, summer 2013.

HOUSE, Ivy
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ivy House of Bellburns, NL, announce her passing on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013 at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 97 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters Barbara (Gerald), Daniel's Harbour, Gladys (Ralph), Parsons Pond and Edna (Leonard), River of Ponds; sons Jacob, Cox's Cove and Hubert (Sadie), River of Ponds; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother Arch, residing at Seniors Home in Corner Brook; sisters Alice (Douglas), Elsie and Edith (Henry), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Abraham, parents William and Elizabeth, daughter-in-law Ethel, brothers Howard and Eli and sister Fanney. Visitation took place at St. Peter's Anglican Church in River of Ponds on Friday and Saturday. The funeral service took place at St. Aiden's Anglican Church in Bellburns on Sunday, Jan. 6 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Paulette Bugden officiating. Interment followed at Spudgels Cove Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website at www.fillatre.ca

PITTMAN, Dorothy Greta
Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on Jan. 15, 2013, Mrs. Dorothy Greta Pittman of St. Anthony, NL, in her 77th year. She leaves to mourn her beloved husband of 59 years Abraham Pittman; sons Randy (Daisy), Guy (Julie), and Dan (Patsy); daughters Marion (Tom), and Gaye; brothers Roy (Judy), and Ralph (Laverne); sisters Hazel (Horace), and Velma; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren, also a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Roderick and Lucy Colbourne. Visitation was held at the funeral home followed by the funeral service which took place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17 at St. Mary's Anglican Church in St. Anthony with Rev. Fr. Paul C. Findlay officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

RUMBOLT, Yvonne
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Yvonne Rumbolt of Castors River North, NL, announce her passing on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 57 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her common-law husband Edward Ryland; sons Broderick Barney (Tara), Bradley Rumbolt (Melissa), and Fabian Rumbolt (Tiffany); grandchildren Alex, Adam, Shealene, Kaylee, Alyssa, Brody, and Carter; parents Cecilia and Abraham Rumbolt; sisters Bernadette (Clarence), Elva (Ronald), Angela, and Annette; brothers Ivan (Maureen), Percy (Maria), Stanley, (Annette), Harold (Jill), and Gary and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation took place at St. Anne's Chapel, Castors River North on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from where the funeral service took place on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 11 a.m. with Fr. SIMMS, Melvin Gordon
Passed peacefully away on Jan. 30, 2013 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, Mr. Melvin Simms of Roddickton, NL,in his 78th year. He leaves to mourn his wife Louise Simms, Roddickton; daughters Judy (Terry) Norman, Fort McMurray, Alberta, Pauline (Dennis) Hancock, Roddickton, Linda (Tom) Newman, Roddickton, Bonnie (Kevin) Newman, Englee, Patsy (Chris) Hewlett, Kitchener, Ontario, and Ina (Eugene) Brenton, Roddickton; brother Arch (Pearl) Simms, Roddickton; sisters Ruby Swain, Carbonear, Leah (Ronald) Lidstone, Reidville, Madeline (Warrick) Newman, Englee; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; lots of nephews and nieces and many other relatives and friends. Visitation was held at the Apostolic Faith Church in Roddickton from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 3 with Pastor Rene Cassell officiating. Interment followed in the Apostolic Faith Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

SPENCE, Kenneth (Kelly)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Kenneth (Kelly) Spence of Devon, Alberta, (formerly of Port au Choix), NL, announce his sudden passing on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013 in Leduc, Alberta at the age of 35 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his son AJ; parents Ivy and David; girlfriend Tanya; step-children Brittany and Zachery; sister Estelle (Melvin); brother Stephen (Nadine); nephew David; sister Dawn (Sammy); nieces Ashtin and Anita; special family member Laura Walsh and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation took place from Fillatre's Funeral Home in Port au Choix on Wednesday, and Thursday. The funeral service was held from St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church on Friday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Steve Jenkins officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove. TAYLOR, William (Willie)
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father, William (Willie) Taylor (Sept 28, 1947 - Jan. 20, 2013), of Raleigh, NL, He went in peace surrounded by his family at Edmonton General Hospice. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His memories will forever be cherished by his loving wife of 42 years, Sharon; his four children Lew (Tina) Edmonton, Monika (Randy) Edmonton, Verne (Roxanne), Whitecourt, and Sarah (Kirby), Whitecourt; nine grandchildren Nikita, Aaron, Jonah, Daniel, Emily, Kyle, Josh, Lainey and Kiarah. Never forgotten by his siblings Harvey (Selma), Abiel (Viola), Bertha (George), Lucy, Drucy (Louden), and Norman (Flossie); sister-in-law Ivy, and numerous extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his mother and father, Llewelyn and Emily, brother Hector, and brother-in-law Reuben. A memorial service was held in Whitecourt, Alberta, Saturday, Jan. 26, at 2 p.m. at Whitecourt United Church. A celebration of his life to be held in Raleigh early August, 2013.
You taught us to laugh, you instilled in us a passion for the outdoors, and you taught us to enjoy life to the fullest. These are the lessons that will never be lost. Rest in peace dear Dad, Rest in peace.

WHALEN, Mary Ann (Polly)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Ann (Polly) Whalen of Flowers Cove, NL, announce her passing on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 89 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter Hazareth (Jock) Gardner; grandchildren David Gardner, Michael (Kimberly) Gardner, Anna (Mark) Peddle, Millie (Lonnie) Dredge, Lisa (Jarvis) Walsh, Nelson Jr. (Kelly) Whalen and (Mary); great-grandchildren Ryan Gardner, Cole Walsh, Miguel Dredge, Robert Gardner, Kate Peddle, Jeff Walsh, Bree Gardner, Claire Peddle, Sandy Whalen, Allie Gardner, Gracie Whalen, and Emma Whalen; in-law Emily Whalen; brothers and sisters William Genge, Julie White, Cosmo Genge, Ellen Whalen, Henry Genge, Harris Genge, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Adolphus, sons Nelson and Flicky, grandson Dofie, mother Dorcas, father Henry, sisters Josie, Constance, and Lillian, brothers Garfield and Isreal (Flick). Visitation took place at St. Boniface Anglican Church in Flowers Cove on Saturday from where the funeral service took place on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bob Rowlands officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.
