ADAMS, Kenneth
Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Roddictkon Hospital on Jan. 21, 2012, Mr. Kenneth Adams of Roddickton, NL, in his 90th year. Left with heavy hearts but thankful for their loving memories are his loving wife of 69 years Mary; his beloved children Robert (Dorothy) Adams, Duclie, Elva (Henry) Rowsell, Wilson (Peg) Adams, Jessie, Floyd (Pat) Adams, and Lawrence (Faye) Adams, and daughter-in-law Loretta Adams. He will be surely missed by his cherished 19 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren, as well as his brother Harold (Venis) Adams; sisters Jessie (Melvin), Emma (Clifford), and Naomi (Garland). During his lifetime he suffered the loss of his son Wilfred, his mother and father Naomi and Kenneth, his brothers James Adams, Walter Adams, and his sister Levina, Myrtle, Mary and Beulah. Visitation was held at the Calvary Pentecostal Temple in Roddickton, from which the funeral service was held on Monday, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m. with Pastor G. B. Pinkson and Pastor C. Gaulton officiating. Burial followed the service in the new Pentecostal Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry. M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

BARRETT, Bruce
Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on Jan. 2, 2012, Mr. Bruce Barrett of Raleigh, NL, in his 92nd year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories step-sons Ian (Mildred) and Gaden (Gwen); step-grandsons Travis and Gavin (Shannon); step-granddaughters Angela (Steve), Cindy, and Bonnie; step-great-grandson Evan; step-great granddaughters Emma, Madison, Jorja, and Faith; sisters-in-law Virtue (Barton), and Madeline; brothers-in-law Gayden and Noah. He was predeceased by his wife Mary, parents Mary and Samuel Barrett, in- laws Leah, Laura, Jane, Enos, Amos, Delcie and Jerry. Visitation was held at the St. Paul's Anglican Church in Raleigh from where the funeral service took place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5 with Rev. Diane Smith and lay reader Alf Larkin officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes Ltd., St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

CANNING, Walter William Samuel
Passed away peacefully at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on Jan. 7, 2012, Mr. Walter Canning of Roddickton, NL, in his 67th year. He leaves to cherish his memories sons Ramsey Canning, Roddickton and Barry (Patti) Canning, Devin, Alberta; daughters Cindy (Kirby) Randell, Roddickton, Tammy Canning (Kirby Tucker), Roddickton and Kimley Canning (Terry Jenkins), Roddickton; brother Simon (Clara) Canning, Roddickton; sisters Ruby Pollard, Stephenville, Cordellia Denney, Roddickton, Dorcas (Hubert) Cassell, Roddickton, and Dora (Fred) Eddison, Roddickton, ex-wife Louise Wilcox, St. Anthony; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends. Visitation was held at the Apostolic Church in Roddickton from where the funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, with Rev. Rene S. Cassell officiating. Burial followed in the new Apostolic Faith Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

COATES, Gordon James
Passed away peacefully at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on Jan. 20, 2012, Mr. Gordon James Coates of Eddies Cove East, NL, in his 87th year. Mr. Coates leaves to mourn his daughters Gloria (Doug), Juanita (Stewart), Seamon (Jim), and Irene (Paul deceased); sons Wilga (Gladys), and Victor (Vivian); grandchildren Bob, Mervin, Boris, Tony, Troy, Trina, Christina, Andrew, Christal, Carla, Jennifer, Kevin, Lisa, Sabrina, Keith and (Tonya predeceased); eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters Blanche (Reuben) and Margaret; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Gordon was predeceased by his wife Ruth Coates. Visitation was held at the St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Lower Cove, from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 23 with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. Burial followed the service in the Anglican Cemetery in Eddies Cove East. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

COLBOURNE, Linda Hilda Lovelett
Passed away peacefully at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Jan. 6, 2012, Mrs. Linda Colbourne of St. Anthony, NL, in her 79th year. She leaves to mourn with a lifetime of fond and loving memories sons Ford (Rita), Wesley (Elizabeth), Oscar (Patricia), Warrick (Agnes), Alvin (Carol), and Derrick (Donna); daughter Denise (Jim); 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister Jessie and a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband George, her father and mother Warrick, and Catherine Hewlett, sister Stella, brother Wesley, brothers-in-law Edward, Ford, and Roland. Visitation was held at the funeral home, followed by the church service at the Salvation Army Church in St. Anthony at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8 with Majors Dinzel and Kathleen Baggs officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes Ltd., St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

GREEN, John
Passed away into a peaceful rest on Jan. 20, 2012 at the John M. Gray Centre in St.Anthony, Mr. John Green of Raleigh, NL, in his 76th year. Mourning the loss of John from their lives is his adored wife of 58 years Mable; his children Wallace (Judy), Edna (Martin), Hazel (Raymond), Vivian (Tony), and Alonzo (Michelle); his grandchildren Jill Smith, Vanessa Green, Krista Roberts Terri Lapraik (Mike), Shawn Green, Kellie Rae Taylor, and Aaron Green; his great-grandchildren Brady Roberts, Chloe Reardon, Tristan Roberts and Liam Lapraik; his sister Alice Patey; his sister-in-law Deliah Green; brother-in-law Alonzo Bessey; sisters-in-law Loretta Bessey, Bertha Bessey, Joan Firth, and brother-in-law Kevin Firth. While their hearts are heavy, they are thankful to have shared his life and made loving memories. During his lifetime John suffered the loss of several family members, among them his mother and father Christina and Elijah Green, his brothers Henry and Leonard Green, his sister Nina Colbourne, his sister-in-law Beatrice Green his brothers-in-law Amaziah Patey and Hubert Colbourne. Visitation was held at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Raleigh, from where the funeral service took place on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Diane Smith and lay reader Alf Larkin officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Levinia Fillatre, funeral director.

HEDDERSON, Ambrose
Passed away peacefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on Jan. 5, 2012, Mr. Ambrose Hedderson of Quirpon, NL, in his 83rd year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories partner Laura Carrroll; daughters Judy (Elias), Rita (Ross), Cassie (Karl), and Iris; sons Ernest (Frances) and Ross (Pansy); grandchildren Murray, Morgan (Tammy), Dexter, Tim (Katrina), Trevor (Samantha), Trent (Sasha), Travis (Candice), Terrence, Trudy, Lorrie (Marlon), Dawson (Kara), Jason (Suzanna), Jennifer (Ryan), Angela (Travis), Alicia (Tyler), Brittany, Devin, Darlene (Andy), and Justin; great-grandchildren Damien, Destiny, Chloe, Hayley, Tamara, Brooklyn, Logan, Cameron, Brooklyn, Victoria, Hunter, Aaron, Tori and Kelly; great-great-grandchild Hunter; sister Mary Ann Blake; brothers Wesley (Winnie), Francis (Selma), and many extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Elsie, grandson Danny Burden and son-in-law Bruce Barney. Visitation was held at the Central United Church from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8 with Rev. Gus Pendleton officiating. HOPKINS, Louise Minnie Mae
Taken from her family too soon on Jan. 18, 2012, at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony after a struggle with cancer, Mrs. Louise Minnie Mae Hopkins of Roddickton, NL, in her 67th year. Left behind and grieving together are her dearly loved husband of 48 years Willis Hopkins of Roddickton; her sons Paul (Twila) Hopkins of Blackfalds, Alberta, and Darren Hopkins of Roddickton; her daughters Mona (Larry) Carroll of St. Anthony, and Denise (Paul) Blake of Churchill Falls; grandsons Jonathan (Amanda), Joshua and Jayden; granddaughters Janessa, Jessica, Julie, and Denika. Left to face the heartbreak of losing a child is her mother Hazel Brenton of Englee, as well as her brothers Jim (June) Brenton, of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Raymond (Marjorie) Brenton of Englee, Wilson (Pearl) Brenton of Conception Bay South, Alfred (Charlotte) Brenton of St. Anthony, David (Lillian) Brenton of Goose Bay; her sisters Bessie Brenton (Jack Courage) of Goose Bay, Ruby (Bruce) Pittman of Goose Bay, and Shirley Brenton of Englee, as well as other relatives and friends. Visitation took place at the Apostolic Faith Church in Roddickton, from where the funeral was held, with Rev. Rene S. Cassell officiating on Saturday, Jan. 21 followed by burial in the new Apostolic Faith Cemetery in Roddickton. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

PILGRIM, Albert Charles
Passed away peacefully on Jan. 8, 2012, Mr. Albert Charles Pilgrim of Main Brook, NL, in his 89th year. Albert leaves to mourn his wife Alma; his children Hayward (Louise), Wayne (Leanne), and Joy, (Allison-deceased); his step-children Lydia (Norman-deceased), Norman, Patsy (John), Wilson (Rita), David, and Jeffery (Rhonda) as well as his grandchildren Jeff, Mark, Nicole, Nadene, Sharon, Rhonda, Corleen and Penny; great-grandchildren Claire, Raine, George, Everlee, Ashley, Megan, Kody, Shawna, Jillian, and Madison, along with seven step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. Albert was predeceased by his first wife Ellen Saunders and his parents Richard and Amelia. Visitation was held at the Pentecostal Church in Main Brook, from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Reg Skinner officiating. Burial followed the service in the Pentecostal Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

PORTER, Robert
Passed away peacefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Jan. 2, 2012, Mr. Robert Porter of Bear Cove, NL, in his 83rd year. Robert's memory will be cherished by the family he left behind children John (Pauline), Vince (Diane), Wilb (Joyce), Mary (Dave), Mable (Andrea), Jill (Stan), and Bob; his grandchildren Dena, Kristine, Lisa, Tracy, Dede, Jennifer, Andy, Rodney and Myles, and nine great-grandchildren. Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife Olga in 2004. Visitation was held at St. Boniface Anglican Church in Bear Cove, from where the funeral took place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4 with Rev. Rowlands officiating. Burial took place in the church cemetery immediately following the service. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

POWER, Rita Isabella
Passed away peacefully at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on Jan. 29, 2012, Mrs. Rita Isabella Power of Conche, NL, in her 90th year. Mrs. Power is predeceased by her husband, Cornelius and son Anthony, brothers Frank, Anthony and William, sisters Villadu, Theresa and Mary. She leaves to mourn daughters Angela (Jerry), Madonna, Evangeline, Joan (Woodrow), and sons Maurice, Frank (Diane), Phil, Albert (Debbie), Wayne (Wavey), and Fabian (Eugenia), 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, and sisters Marie and Nell. Visitation was held at Sacred Heart Parish in Conche from where the funeral service took place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2 with Fr. Devas officiating. Burial followed the service in the Roman Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Homes, St. Anthony, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

RANDELL, Shawn Guy
Torn from this life in a tragic accident in the area of Bide Arm on Jan. 14, 2012, Mr. Shawn Guy Randell of Roddickton, NL, at the young age of 37 years. Left heartsick with grief and burdensome loss are his dearly beloved children, daughter Taylor; sons Taner and Trevor, as well as his adopted parents Wilfred and Eileen Randell; parents Sadie Hewitt and Kevin Wilcox; his brothers Jason (Sherri), Corwin (Vivian), and Steven (Beth Ann); half-brothers Kevin (Crystal), Robbie, Bryone, and Ryan; half-sisters Lori (Fern), Gwen and Cassandra; grandparents Beatrice Wilcox and Jean Osmond. Even though he has passed at such a young age, he did not escape the pain of grief, having lost his brother Calvin in his lifetime. Visitation was held at the Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in Roddickton, from where the funeral service took place on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. with Pastor G.B. Pinksen and Pastor C. Gaulton officiating. Burial followed the service in the new Pentecostal Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

TAYLOR, Elijah
Passed away peacefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, Mr. Elijah Taylor of Raleigh, NL, in his 76th year. Mr. Taylor leaves behind a family with many loving memories his daughter Susan (Bill); grandchildren Jenna and Jacob; his nieces Ena (Albert), Jennifer, and Jean (Hedley), and nephew Wade (Bertha); sister Flossie and many more nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Elijah had lived to see the passing of his parents Harvey and Eva Taylor, his sisters Evelyn, Bertha, Ivy, and Ellen, as well as his brothers Llewelyn, Ernest, and Valen. Visitation was held at the United Church in Raleigh, from where the funeral service took place at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22 with Rev. Gus Pendleton officiating. Burial followed the service in the new United Cemetery in Raleigh. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Levinia Fillatre, funeral director.

TAYLOR, Stewart
Passed away into peace on Jan. 8, 2012 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders, Mr. Stewart Taylor of Forrester's Point, NL, at the age of 83 years. Left behind with heavy hearts, but thankful to have been a part of his life are his children Scott (Linda), Garland (June), Sarah (Billy), Stu (Annette), and Gord (Wanda); his grandchildren Tammy (Rod), Barry (Paula), Dallis (Larry), Chastity (Randy), Yvette (Tim), Collette, Mitzi (Matthew), and Chloe. Also dealing with the loss of Stewart are his siblings Lorenzo, Wilson, Jacob, Sybil, Susan and Anne. In his 83 years, Stewart was no stranger to loss. He lived through the loss of his wife Mary Grace, his mother and father Lily and William Taylor, his brothers Gord and Kirby and his sister Mary Jane Caines. Visitation was held at St. Mary's Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12 with Rev. Harold Harvey and Yvonne Dredge officiating. Burial followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Black Duck Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

WEBB, Cassie (Noseworthy)
Passed away at Kemptville Hospital on Jan. 24, 2012 in Kemptville, Ontario, Cassie (Noseworthy) Webb of Kemptville, Ontario. She was born in Green Island Brook on April 3, 1943. Left with fond and loving memories husband Peter; daughter Tracey (Dean), and grandson D.J; brothers Lawrence (Jean), Eric (May), Norman (Helen), Gorvin (Sarah), Garland (Priscilla), Selby (Lorraine), and Wade; sisters Currie (Roland), Sadie, Winnie, and Emily (Gideon), brother-in-law Whyman; sister-in-law Velma, and a large number of nieces and nephews. WILLIAMS, Susanna
Passed away peacefully at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on Jan. 2, 2012, Mrs. Susanna Williams of Black Duck Cove, NL, in her 93rd year. She leaves to mourn her sons Stanley (Bessie), and James (Cornelia); daughters Hazareth (Archibald), Virginia (late Chesley), Cora (Melvin), Ruby (Gerald), and Edith (Kirby); 23 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband John Williams, her parents, seven children, four grandchildren, two sisters, two brothers and one son-in-law. Visitation was held at the St. Mary's Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday, Jan. 4 with Rev. Harold Harvey and Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Current Island. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

WOODWARD, Wilfred Glosson
While surrounded by his loving family, Wilfred Glosson Woodward of Boat Harbour, NL, passed away in to peace at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on Jan. 31, 2012. He was 81 years of age. His loss has stricken many hearts with grief, most notable among them, with the deepest wounds are his dearly loved wife of 57 years, Dulcie Gladys; his children Gaye Mitchelmore (Whyman), Audrey Stevenson (Dave), and Wilfred; his grandchildren Jason Mitchelmore (Lindsay), Janice Cerqueira (Andre), David Stevenson (Krista), Daniel Stevenson (Lauren), Jennifer Mitchelmore, Rachel Stevenson, and Eric Stevenson; his great-grandchildren Max, Jake, and Reichen; also his brother Jim Woodward (Nina), and family; sister-in-law Keziah Woodward and her family. Wilfred lived to the passing of his parents Rachel and George as well as his brother Amos. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony, followed by the funeral service on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. at St. Mary's Anglican Church with Rev. Ralph Moore officiating. Burial was held following the service in the Boat Harbour Community Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.
