Jan. 6, 2009. William Pardy, age 81 years. Leaving to mourn wife Sybil Howell
(nee Simms); daughter Sharon Patey (Derek); son William (Kris); grandchildren
Jonathan Maters (Shana), Natasha Maters, Chris Patey (Kelly), Karla Reardon
(Jarvis), and Katie Pardy; great-granddaughters Dominique Maters and
Olivia Reardon; sisters Olive Smith, Grace Squires (Raymond) and Judy
Brittain; step-daughters Yvonne Siciliano (Arthur) and Alvina (Willie)
Budgell and families, and a large number of relatives and friends. He
was predeceased by his first wife Karis (nee Brown), daughter Juanita
O'Dell, brothers Dick, Edgar, and Elmer and sisters Charolette Davidson,
Flora Hancock and Elizabeth Boyd. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre
Funeral Home in St. Anthony. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on
Friday, Jan. 9, at the Anglican Church St. Anthony with Canon Rev. Jean
Brenton-Hickman officiating with cremation to follow. Funeral arrangements
were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony, Danielle
Galgay, funeral director.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Thomas McDonald announce his passing at Labrador South Health Centre in Forteau on Jan.
8, 2009 at the age of 87 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories
wife Geraldine; children Valerie (Bobby), Darlene and Carl; granddaughters
Genista, Mandy, and Brittany as well as a large circle of other relatives
and friends. He was predeceased by his son Captain Godfrey and parents
Thomas McDonald and Lucy Neary. Visitors were received at the Our Lady
of Labrador Church Chapel in West St. Modeste on Saturday and Sunday
from where the funeral service took place on Monday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m.
with Fr. Tony O'Dell officiating. Internment followed at the church cemetary
in Pinware. As expressions of sympathy flowers were graciously accepted.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Augustus
Plowman announce his passing on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009 at Western Memorial Regional
Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 73 years. Leaving to mourn his
wife of 51 years Clara; daughters Emma, (Greg Newton), Leah (Dave Moores)
and Carolyn (Lawrence Gaslard); sons Robert (Mary Reid) and Parry; granddaughter
Keri Plowman Gaslard; great-grandson Steven Lavers; sisters Vivian Spence,
Juliette Cornick, Florence Goosney, and Leah House; brothers James, Clayton
Sr., and a large circle of other relatives and friends. The family received
friends at Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix on Monday and Tuesday
from 2-4 p.m and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service took place at St. Theresa's
Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday Jan. 14, at 10 a.m. with Fr. Ambrose
Hynes officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy
Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral

13, 2009, Elizabeth Richards, age 79 years. Leaving to mourn her husband of 63
years, Fredrick; two sons Whyman (Ruby), and Dale (Melissa); six daughters
Edna (Edgar), Linda (Doug), Pearl (Ralph), Sybil (Baxter), June (Jim),
and Beverly (Dean); granddaughter Daphne (Kevin); 27 grandchildren; 22
great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased
by her baby brother, as well as her son Derrick, daughter Joan and three
grandchildren. Visitation was held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, in
St. Carol's, from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday,
Jan. 17, with Rev. Bruce Graham officiating. Interment followed in the

and Ryan; great-grandchildren David, Miranda, and Brody; brother and

He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Violet Payne. The family

Friday and Saturday from where the funeral service took place on Sunday

and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Mary Ann, father Augustus,

GENGE, DULCIE (CHAMBERS)
Bear Cove
Born in Bear Cove, Dulcie was the second of five children born to Selina
and Matthew Chambers. Dulcie is predeceased by brothers Hubert and Reginal,
husband Howard and son Howard Jr. Dulcie married Howard Genge in 1945
and they had three children, Howard (Sandy), Barbara (Randy) of Main
Brook and Phyllis (Normand) of Flowers Cove. Dulcie is survived by sisters
Aurelia (Garfield) of Flowers Cove and Mary Ann (Wilbert) of Stephenville.
They have appreciated a close and special relationship and will experience
a great sense of loss. The family is now extended to include two grandchildren,
Andy White of Goose Bay, Justin Boyd of Main Brook and three great-grandchildren
and one great-great- grandchild. Shortly after losing her husband and
son within a month, Dulcie had to deal with a degenerative eye disease,
this never affected the way she continued to live her life. She appreciated
the company of her family and friends sitting around enjoying a great
meal, Newfoundland music and dancing. Today, we as a family, mourn her
loss but we also give thanks for having had such a wonderful mother,
grandmother, sister and aunt. We appreciate you celebrating her life
with us. Helen Keller once said, "Everything has its wonders, even
darkness and silence, and I learn whatever state I am in, therein to
be content".
Visitation was held at the Anglican Church in Flowers Cove from where
the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, with
Rev. Diane Smith officiating, Joyce White, lay minister. Interment followed
at the Anglican Cemetery in Anchor Point. Funeral arrangements were entrusted
