FILLIER, Reginald Harvey
Passed on: February 12th, 2018

Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Centre on the 12th of February 2018. Mr. Reginald H. Fillier of Englee was in his 88th year. He leaves to mourn with cherished and loving memories; sons Davis (Mary); Jim (Monica); Garry (Karen); daughters Shirley (Bill) Humby, Hilda(Shane) Pilgrim, Evelyn (Della Demoss); thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; brother Alvin (Shirley) Fillier - as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased his parents Aubrey and Patience Fillier; sisters Ida (Bill) Ivany, Gladys (Joe) Pollicara, Daisy (John) Newman; Visitation took place from the Salvation Army Church in Englee on the 14th day of February followed through until the funeral service which took place at 2:00pm on the 16th day of February, 2018 with Lieut. Bruce officiating. Interment followed at the New Salvation Army Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre's Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

HILLIER, MOREY GLEN
Passed away on February 15th, 2018 at the age of 56 years. Morey was born March 30, 1961 in Griquet to Roland and Annie Hillier. He moved to St. Anthony when he was nine. Morey was a lover of sports, especially ice hockey and soft ball. He loved children and noticed each one he seen. He was an avid lover of anything outdoors: hunting, cutting wood, fishing, and snowmobiling. He spent his time working as an autobody mechanic and was known by everyone for his work ethic. He was known for his two wonderful daughters: Emily and Hannah. Morey was a storyteller and could light up a room with his stories of good times. His stories and memory will be remembered by everyone he knew. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children Emily and Hannah; Mother Annie Hillier; Sisters Gloria (Clem), Winnie (Rick), Vivian (Victor); Brothers Fred (Reeta), Tony (Margaret), Robbie (Karen); Nan Sadie, Joan, and Karla as well as a large circle of family and friends. Morey is predeceased by his Father Roland Hillier; Jehu Parsons, and Donna Parsons. Visitation was held from the Bethel Pentecostal Church in St. Anthony from where the funeral was held on Wednesday, February 21st, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Bessey officiating. Interment followed in the Pentecostal cemetery in St. Lunaire-Griquet. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre's Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

HILLYARD, NORMAN WILLIAM
Passed away on Feb 11th, 2018 at Western Memorial hospital at the age of 74 years. He leaves to mourn wife Julia daughters Judy, Michelle (Bruce) granddaughter Tianna Avery-Hillyard; Sisters Irene, Elizabeth (Curtis), Mary (Clarence), Rebecca (Mathew), Maisie; Brother Eric; Half sister Cora; Brother in law Stephen (Blenda), Samuel (Eileen), Harvey (Barbara), Stan (Ethel), Bill; Sisters in law Gertie, Glenda, Blanche, Pearl, Evelyn, Annie. Norman is predeceased by his parents William and Dorothy; brothers Mike, Bill, Harold, Ted; Sister Rachel; and Parents in Law Aaron and Leah Applin. Cremation took place. Visitation is being held from St. Margaret of Scotland Anglican Church in Shoal Cove West on Monday, February 19th, 2018 at 9:00 am with Rev. Jennifer officiating. Inurnment followed.

HUGHES, Effie Blanche
Passed on: February 18th, 2018

Passed away February 18th, 2018 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 82 years. She leaves to mourn with tender and loving memories her sons Edmund (Maggie), Lester (Daphne), Winsor (Patsy), Garold, and Boyce (Joyce) Hughes; daughters Marie (Uriah) Hughes, Carol (Dan) Coombs, Doreen (Mait) Noseworthy, and Melina (Colin) Macdonald; step-daughters Vivian (Max) Snow, and Maisie (Lloyd) Hughes; step-daughter-in-law Daisy Hughes; sister Christina Woodward; 29 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Effie was predeceased by her husband Lawrence, son Melvin, daughter-in-Law Burnett Noseworthy, stepdaughter Hazarett Hughes, stepson Enos Hughes, and grandsons, baby boy of Carol and Dan Coombs, and Tyke Hughes. Visitation took place at St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Lower Cove from where the funeral was held on Wednesday, February 21st at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Omar Reyes officiating. Interment followed in the Green Island Brook Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre's Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton.

HUMBY, Harold
Passed on: February 3rd, 2018

Harold was born in St. Lunaire to Joseph and Jesse Humby on November 28th, 1941. Harold started out with a career as a fisherman and in the lumber woods; with the Liner Board in Goose Bay. He did, however, continue fishing. Harold married Edith Blanchard of Roddickton. They married in St. Lunaire in 1960 and continues to make their home there. Harold and Edith had two children, Flossie and Wilbert. Harold passed away on February 3rd, 2018 from the John M Gray Centre in St. Anthony at the age 76 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Edith; children Wilbert (Norma), Flossie (Denley) Hedderson; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers Lester (Judy), Nelson (Joan), Reginald (Regina), Gordon (Margie); sister Irene Hillier; brother-in-law Allan Patey as well as large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Harold was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Jesse Humby; sister Florence Patey; brothers Alvohn, Truman, Wilbert, William; and brother-in-law Thomas Hillier. Visitation was held from the Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in St. Lunaire-Griquet from where the funeral was held on Thursday, February 8th, 2018 with Pastors John and Joy Baker officiating. Interment followed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre's Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

MOORES, Reginald
Passed on: February 20th, 2018

It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Edgar Reginald Moores announce his passing at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the age of 83 years. Reg had a long and successful career with both the provincial and federal government and was a retired member of the Canadian Rangers. Everyone who knew Reg knew that he loved the outdoors; spending many of his days hunting, trapping and salmon fishing in the Pinware River. He was a very caring man who worked hard to provide everything for his family. He was well-known and loved by so many and will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Lily, and their seven children: Gardner (Alice), Bern (Pauline), Sheila (Joe), Pat (Bruce), Terry (Madonna), Barry (Loretta), and Bonnie (Jason), 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, his brother Denley (Patsy) and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father and mother Graham and Hilda Moores and brother Clayton. The family would like to thank Dr. Hay and the staff in the ICU at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital for the care and comfort they offered Reg. A funeral service was held on Friday, February 23rd at 2:00 PM at the Red Bay United Church and interment followed at the Red Bay United Church cemetery. Funeral services were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Homes Ltd.

PITTMAN, Lloyd
Passed on: February 8th, 2018

Passed away on February 8th, 2018 at the Health Science Centre in St. John's at the age of 62 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife and best friend Elsie; his ray of sunshine Mackenzie Short; brothers Wayne (Vina), and Dean (Clara); sister Joan (Glen); best friends Dorothy and Gerald Short; his nieces and nephews (his love for children was evident in his pride for his nieces and nephews), as well as other extended family and friends. He will be loved and missed by many. Lloyd was predeceased by his parents Glossen and Dulcie Pittman, and his parents-in-law, Jacob and Gertrude Campbell. Visitation took place at St. Matthew's Anglican Church in Cook's Harbour from where the funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 13th, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Katie officiating. Interment followed. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre's Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

POLLARD, Martha
Passed on: February 14th, 2018

Passed away on February 14th, 2018 at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony at the age of 98 years. She leaves to mourn many special friends including Emma and John Reardon, Tracey (Darren), Jamie (Tina), Elvis and Tara Clements; the Canning family and the Pollard family. Mrs. Pollard was predeceased by her husband's George Tucker and Isaac Pollard; parents John and Mary Clarke; brother Joe Clarke; and sisters Mary Parsons and Beatrice Pilgrim. Visitation was held from Kerry M. Fillatre's Funeral Home in Roddickton from where the funeral took place on Saturday, February 17th with Rev. Chris Hewlett officiating. Interment followed in the Apostolic Faith Cemetery in Roddickton. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre's Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

RANDELL, EDITH
Edith Randell
was born in Hooping Harbour on November 30, 1929 to Alfred and Bessie Pollard. As the eldest of the family she grew up quickly helping to care for her sisters and brothers. On October 19, 1944 Edith married Chesley Randell of Williamsport. They made their home in Williamsport until in 1965 when they resettled to Englee. Edith was a hard working woman, who wanted a good job done in whatever she worked at. She worked for a number of years for John Reeves Ltd. in both Williamsport and Englee. In the 1976 she began to work as the Town Clerk in Englee, a position she held until she retired. On Wednesday February 21, Edith passed peacefully away. Edith was a faithful member of this congregation. She was a life member of the UCW, a member of the Board of Management as well as the Official Board of the Pastoral Charge. She was the church organist for more than 40 years and a member of the choir. As we remember Edith, we realize how much she enriched our lives and how much she will be missed. Edith is survived by a special niece Lynette Simms (Doug),special niece and care giver Bernice (Neil), her brothers Hayward (Joan), Alwin (Faye), Rick (Drucella), sisters Myrtle (Jerry, deceased), Fanny (Ivan), Evelyn (Elias), Irene, Yvonne (Fred), and Joan. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Chesley, her parents, her sister Sadie and brother Wilmore. Visitation was held from the United Church in Englee from where the funeral took place on Tuesday, February 27th, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. John officiating. Interment followed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, Funeral Director.

ROBERTS, WILLIAM ERNEST
Passed away on February 22nd, 2018 from the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 82 years. Willie was born in Ship Cove on August 10, 1935, to Fred and Pearl Roberts. He loved where he was to, and he lived a life here, marrying Effie and raising five children. Will loved to spend time fishing and cutting wood. But he loved even more passing time with family and friends. His pictures will make your hearts glad, and his memories will always brighten your days. He leaves to Mourn with fond and loving memories, his Wife, Effie; Children, Darren (Kim), Jeff (Jessica), Jamie (Samantha), Tammy (Duane), Chad (Ange); Grandchildren, Ellie, Julian, Nicholas, Mya, Jessica, Abbie, Nicholas, Jayden, Danielle and Keagan; Sisters, Ella, Nellie (Les), Rita (Ford), Debbie (Ray); and Brother, Melvin (Irene). William E. Roberts was predeceased by his Parents, Fred & Pearl Roberts; Sister Ruby; and Brother Melvin. Visitation was held from Kerry M. Fillatre's Funeral Home in St. Anthony until the funeral on February 26th, 2018 at 11:00 am from the United Church in Ship Cove with Rev. Gus Pendleton officiating. Interment followed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre's Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

TAYLOR, Dulcie
Passed on: February 16th, 2018

Passed away February 16th 2018 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 83 years. Dulcie will always be remembered by her sons Edward (Jennifer), and Carter (Honora); grandchildren Kylie (Brian), and Effie (Kris); great-grandchildren Kobe, Keegan, Jayden, and Ava. Dulcie was predeceased by her husband Kirby; partner John; son Baxter; parents Clement and Gertrude Williams; sisters Mary Jane, and Eliza; brother Roland as well as a circle of extended family and friends. Visitation took place at St. Mary's Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove from where visitation was held until the funeral on Monday, February 19th at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Claire Stewart officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Black Duck Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre's Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
