CANNING, Junior Murray
Passed away peacefully at Captain William Jackman Memorial Hospital on Feb. 12, 2011, Junior Canning of Roddickton,NL, at the age of 65 years. Leaving with a lifetime of memories are his wife Eileen Canning; sons Chad (Natasha) and Kent (Kim Earle); sisters Grace Brophy, Iris Fillier, and Ramona (Ivan) Manuel, brothers Carl (Muriel) Pilgrim and Earl (Beatrice) Pilgrim; and grandchildren Colden and Olesia, followed by a large circle of relatives and friends. Visitation was held at the Apostolic Faith Church in Roddickton. The funeral service took place on Wednesday, Feb. 16 with Rev. Rene S. Cassell officiating. Interment was held at the Apostolic Faith Cemetery, Roddickton. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

HARVEY, Leslie
Passed away at Western Memorial Hospital on Feb. 9, 2011, Mr. Les Harvey of Plum Point, NL in his 79th year. Les leaves to mourn his wife Evelyn; nieces Eileen and Marilyn; nephew Leo; sisters-in-law Rachel (late Isaac), Jesse, George, and Wally and family; Jessie, Don-Minnie, Nellie, Patty and family, Muriel (Les, David, Susan) (late Randall), Jessie (late Henry) Rachel, Ivy, Evelyn, Gord, Stan; and brothers-in-law George, Virge, and Wallace (Tom, Bill) and families. He was predeceased by his parents Annie and Joe, brother Garfield, brothers-in-law Rendell, Henry, and Gordon, sister-in-law Eliza, father-in-law George, and mother-in-law Nellie. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church of the Advent in Plum Point, from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12 with Rev. Harold Harvey and Matt Osborne officiating. Burial followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Pond Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

HYNES, Hazel
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hazel Hughes of New Ferolle, NL, announce her passing on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 64 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children Margaret (Garry) House, Semonne, Rhona and Victor of New Ferolle, Lawrence (Karen) Millet, Alberta, and Hazareth (Fred) Tucker, Grande Prairie, Alberta; grandchildren Owen, Dylan, Jamie (Tina), Andrew, Trevor, Samantha, Adam (Malorie), Pamela, Jenna, Alison, and Amber; great-grandchildren Cole and Mya; brothers Wilfred, and Samuel (Ethel); sisters Annie (Algie), and Marina (Garland) and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Wilfred, daughter Josephine, parents Victor and Permella Sinnicks, sisters Victoria, Daisy and Rosie, and brother Guy. The family received friends at Our Lady of the Star in New Ferolle on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from where the funeral service took place on Monday, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. with Fr. Biju Anthony officiating. Interment followed at French Cove Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.

MacDONALD, Anita Teresa
Passed peacefully away at Capt. Williams Jackman Hospital on Feb 26, 2011 in her 54th year, Anita Teresa MacDonald of Labrador City (formally of St. Lunaire-Griquet), NL. Left with loving and fond memories husband Jim; daughter Jennifer (Steven Byrne); granddaughter Nan's little precious Alyssa, sisters Madonna (Elmo) Roberts, Ida (John) Parsons, and Lucy (Barry Fry) Bartlett; brothers Francis (Linda) Bartlett, Joseph (Sandra) Bartlett, Edward (Welma) Bartlett and Patrick Bartlett. She is predeceased by mother and father Carmel and Frederick Bartlett, sister Isabel, brothers Gilbert and Ronald, also leaving to mourn a large number of nieces and nephews, family and friends. Visitation took place at Penney's Funeral Home in Labrador City. The funeral service took place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, at the Roman Catholic Basilica of our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Labrador City with Fr. Jarek Pachocki-OMI officiating. Interment followed in the Labrador City Community Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Penney's Funeral Home, Labrador City, John and Ellen Penney, funeral directors.

PIKE, Flora Mary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Flora Mary Pike of Port au Choix, NL, announce her passing on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 70 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children Vera (Vincent), Darlene (Terry) Young, Wayne (Millicent), and Bonnie of Port au Choix, and Carl (Aileen), Pasadena; grandchildren Terrilynn, Rebecca, Alexandra, Joshua, Justin, Colby, Jessie, Jamie, Christine, and Lindsey; great-grandchild Isabella; mother Kathleen Atkins; sisters Mary, Gloria, (Calvin), Beatrice, Jackie (Keith), Cynthia (Tom), Juanita (Gerald), and Sharon (Sten); brothers George, Felix (Beverly), Myles (Vange), Lowel (Margaret), Edgar (Joan), and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Mark, children Madonna, Peter, Kathleen, Barry, Blenda, father Fred, grandchildren Nicole, great-grandson Dominic. The family received friends from Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix on Thursday and Friday. The funeral service took place at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 11 a.m with Fr. Lee Lainey officiating. RYAN, James William
It is with great sadness that the family of the late James Ryan of Port Saunders, NL, announce his passing on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 76 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Marie; sons Marcel (Judy), St. Barbe, James Jr., (Patricia), Lloydminister, Alberta, William, Brampton, Ontario, and Darren (Pamela), Port au Choix; daughters Jocelyn (Kevin), Port au Choix, Paula (Michael), St. Anthony, and Vanessa (Dale), Hawkes Bay; grandchildren Andrew, Matthew, Jimmy, Colin, Cody, Shawn, Chantelle, Lacey, Chelsea, Nicholas, Sarah, and Hannah; great-grandchildren Jonathan, and Keegan; brothers Clarence, Kevin, John, and Brendan; sister Philomena, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents John and Elsie, brothers William, Michael, Austin and sister Sophia. The family received friends at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Port Saunders, Thursday and Friday from where the funeral service took place on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Lee Lainey officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. WAY, Alonzo
Passed away suddenly after an accident on Feb. 24, 2011. Alonzo Way of Savage Cove, NL, age 53 years. Alonzo leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Judy; daughter Laura; son Mitchell (Trisha); precious grandson Lucas; brothers Earl (Wavy and family) and Melvin (Gloria and family); mother-in-law Sarah; sister-in-law Joy (Wayne and family); brother-in-law Darryl (Kim and family), and will be missed by an extended range of family and friends. Alonzo was predeceased by his parents Llewellyn and Dulcie Way, his brother Harrison, father-in-law George, and brother-in-law Matthew. Family visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony followed by cremation. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2 at St. Mark's Anglican Church in Savage Cove with Rev. Canon Hubert Vallis officiating. Interment followed in the Sandy Cove Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton. Lee Nippard, funeral director.

WHITE, Ralph

Life is not forever, but love is
Hearts were broken and lives were changed forever with the passing of Mr. Ralph White on Feb. 14, 2011, at his home in Sandy Cove, NL, in his 73rd year. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his daughters Vanessa (Glenn), and Vania (Roy); son Trevor (Louise); grandchildren Keegan and Morgan; brother Sterling (Clara); sisters Beulah (Stedman), Mary (Claude), and Yvonne (Ross); special friend Marie, as well as brothers-in-law John Woodward and John Porter; sisters-in-law Margaret (George), Elvia (Dave), and Hope (Lorne); nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Vina, mother Clarissa, father Raymond, brother Stewart and sister Sybil, mother-in-law Clara, father-in-law Noah, brothers-in-law Theophilus, Noah, George, Joseph, William W., and William B., sisters-in-law Rosmond, Nellie, and Elizabeth. Visitation was held at St. Thomas Church followed by the funeral service which was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. Burial followed the service in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
