MAHAR, Joyce

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joyce Mahar announces her passing on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007 at William Osler Hospital, Brampton, Ontario at the age of 56 years. She leaves to mourn her children Marie (Lyndon) of Brampton, Tonya (Toni) of Toronto and Ivan; two grandchildren Nautasha and Jagger; sisters Beatrice, Mary, Vina, Doris, Hilda, Hazel, Neila, Clara and Jessie; brothers Roy, Sandy, Ikey, Ivan and Kerry; very special friend Patrick Kennedy, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Guy, parents Alexander and Mabel Newcombe. The family received friends at St. Anne’s Chapel, Castor River North on Wednesday and Thursday from where the funeral service took place at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 9 with Fr. Roger officiating. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Bird Cove. As expressions of sympathy flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to Breast Cancer research. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website at www.fillatre.ca

TATCHELL, Madonna
Castor River North

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Madonna Tatchell announces her passing on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook in her 64th year. Leaving to mourn her husband Anthony; children Lorne (Mary), Pius (Arlene), Michael (Hazel), Barry and Evelyn, all residing at Castor River North; grandchildren Derek, Dennis, Donna, Darren, Mitch and Kelly; brothers Raymond and Chesley Rumbolt; sisters Nellie Rumbolt, Philomena Rumbolt, Dulcie Hynes, Melvie Tatchell, Emma Rumbolt and Rebecca Locke; special friends Agnes Beaudion, and Irene Rumbolt, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter Anna Marie, parents Reginald and Mary Rumbolt and sister Marie Hughes. The family received friends at St. Anne’s Chapel in Castor River North on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12 with Fr. Roger officiating. Interment followed in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Bartlett’s Harbour. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix.

BLEVINS, Freddie “Butch”
St. Anthony

Passed away on Feb. 7, 2007, Freddie Blevins, age 63 years. Leaving to mourn his wife of 38 years Eva; sister-in-law Millicent Compton; brother and sister-in-law Guy and Evelyn Johnson; sister and brother-in-law Elaine and Todd Hillier; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by mother-in-law and father-in-law Alfred and Ivy Johnson; brother-in-law Abraham Compton and niece Keri Lynn Johnson. Visitation took place at the Salvation Army Church in St. Anthony from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11 with Capt. Janes officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

NOSEWORTHY, Dianne
Green Island Brook

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dianne Noseworthy announces her passing on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007 at her family residence in Green Island Brook. Leaving to mourn her husband Lambert; son Henry Blake Douglas (Kristy) of Grande Prairie, Alberta; daughters Crystal Lyn (Rick) Genge of Anchor Point, Tracy Ellen (Ashley) Genge of Edmonton, Alberta, Nadine Faye (Ron) Mcintyre of Fort St. John, British Columbia and Theresa Georgina of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia; grandchildren Tayler, Toni Malcolm, Ricki, Brady, Chloe, Justin, Jessica and Crystal and one great-great-grandchild Kaylana Rose and a very special aunt Gladys Watters; brothers John Douglas (Yvonne) Watters and David Richard (Louise) Watters; sisters Anna Louise (Donald) Jackman, Carol Mae (Charlie) Ratford, all residing in Ontario, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Douglas Frederick and Ursula Elizabeth Watters. The family received friends at St. Andrew’s Anglican in Lower Cove on Thursday and Friday from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10 with Rev. Dianne White officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. MITCHELMORE, Sarah Jane
Green Island Cove

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sarah Jane Mitchelmore announces her passing on Feb. 11, 2007 at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 66 years. Left with loving memories are her husband Claude; children Eileen, Alva, Dale (Bert), Barney and Roxanne (Daryl); grandchildren Sabrina, Robin and Tamika; mother Amy Elizabeth; sisters Eliza, Dulcie, Glorina, Sophie, Sheila, Belinda and Cher; brothers Leanus, Whyman and Glen, as well as a circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her father Gordon, sister Annie and brother Baxter. Visitation took place at St. Andrew’s Church in Lower Cove from where the Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15 with Rev. Diane Smith officiating. RANDELL, Christopher
Bide Arm

Passed away on Feb. 15, 2007, Christopher Randell, age 94 years. Leaving to mourn sons Edgar (Susie), Manuel (Gloria) and Sidney; daughters Nina Canning, Joyce Cantwell (John) and Wanda Ellsworth (Garland); 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by wife Jenneth and son Julian. Visitation took place at the Pentecostal Church in Roddickton from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 19 with Pastor Grimes officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

MARSHALL, Annette
West St. Modeste

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Annette Marshall announces her passing at the Palliative Care Unit in Forteau on Feb. 17, 2007 at the age of 69 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are her husband Gordan; children Lorraine Edmunds (Byron), Edward (Darlene), Gordan Jr. (Kelly), Marlene Parrill (Elvis), Myra Letemplier (Mervin), Lorne, MaryAnn (Rod Curlew) and Leander (Suzette), and ten grandchildren B. J., Pam, Dwayne, Justin, Roy, Donalda, Brent, Ryan, Deirdre and Hayley. She was also Nan to Arlene Cabot and Tanisha Belben. Also left to mourn are sister Alice Lee; brother Edward Buckle; special friend Lucy Ann O’Dell, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Ambrose and Margaret Buckle, sister Julia O’Brien and brother Joseph O’Dell. Visitation took place at Our Lady of Labrador Church Chapel in West St. Modeste on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from where the Funeral service took place on Wednesday, Feb. 21 with Fr. Tim Moriarity officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery in L’Anse au Diable. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. SAVORY, Charles
Port Hope Simpson

Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007 at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s, Charles Savory, age 67 years. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Ruby Savory (nee Penney); children Vennis, Ford, Elaine, Mervin, Byrint, Wallie and Pauline; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, as well as many other relatives and friends. The Funeral service took place at the Anglican Church in Port Hope Simpson. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Port Hope Simpson. Passed away on Jan. 21, 2007, Leo Alyward of St. Julien’s, age 60 years. Leaving to mourn wife Phyllis; sons Dwayne and Nathan; daughters Daisy (Dean) and Diane (Nic); grandchildren Alena, Kyra, Dmitire, Donavan and Dakota; brother Raymond and father-in-law John Whiteway. He was predeceased by his parents Alice and Cyril, mother-in-law Maude Whiteway and brother-in-law Kevin. Visitation was held at St. William’s Roman Catholic Church in St. Julien’s from where the funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25 with Fr. Vargese officiating. GENGE, Eliza
Anchor Point

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eliza Genge announces her passing on Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 at Curtis Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony at the age of 75 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children Palma (Dean), Beatrice (Whyman), Israel (Della) and Sadie (Winston); grandchildren Sheldon (Mandy), Sharlene (Wade), Darren (Tanya), Christen, Jonathan, Janet (Mervin), Sabrina, Dylan, Danny and Tiffany (Justin); great-grandson Adrian; sisters Evelyn and Ethel (Clyde); sister-in-law Mary; brothers-in-law Pearce and Gordon; special nephew Edmund (Anita) and special niece Merina (Gilbert), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Porter, Feb. 9, 2005. The family received friends at St. Matthews Anglican Church in Anchor Point on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from where the Funeral service took place on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Steven Maki officiating. Interment followed at the New Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix/Bear Cove.

EDDISON, Norman
Main Brook

Passed away on Feb. 23, 2007, Norman Eddison, age 71 years. Left with fond and loving memories his wife of 43 years Lydia; children Rick (Brenda), Randy (Bonnie) and Denise (John); stepson Roger (Connie); grandchildren Nathon, Nigel and Amy; sister Ethel (Jeremiah) Strangemore; stepbrother Ron (Olive) Hedderson, as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Main Brook from where the Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27 with Rev. Heidel officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, Funeral director.

OSMOND, Shirley Eileen
Passed peacefully away on February 24, 2007 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Shirley Osmond at the age of 59 years. Predeceased by her father, E. F. Fowler and son, Stephen. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband, Ivan; son, Peter of Vancouver, BC; daughter, Susan (Tony) of Forteau, Labrador; mother, Rosalie Fowler; brother, Milton (Irene) and a large circle of other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 2 p.m. from Memorial United Church with Rev. Howard Crooks officiating. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the CNIB or the Canadian Diabetes Association. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
