PARRILL, DONNA
St. Anthony

Passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family and friends at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Feb. 1, 2006, Donna Parrill, age 50 years. Left with fond memories are her beloved husband Val Parrill; daughters Kimberly Simms (Stefan), Kathy Parrill (Gord Cull); granddaughter Samantha Parrill; parents Raymond and Jessie Simms; brothers Ralph Simms (Stella) and Morgan Simms; sisters Pearl Montague (Mike), Margorie Noel (Lee), Wavey Montague (Ray) and Sheila Hillier (Wade), a special sister Audrey Hillier (Mel); mother-in-law Priscella Parrill, Parrill family-in-laws; extended family of nieces and nephews, and many, many friends. The funeral service was held at the Salvation Army Citadel in St. Anthony on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. with Capt. Richard and Trudy Mouland officiating. Interment followed in the Salvation Army Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

CANNING, IVAN GEORGE
Roddickton

Passed peacefully away on Feb. 2, 2006, Ivan Canning, age 92 years. Leaving to mourn his wife Myrtle; sons Wilson (Lillian) and Martin (Susie) of Englee, and Harrison (Louise) and Earl (Hazel) of Roddickton; daughters Phyllis Cassell of Grand Falls, Pearl (Calvin) Hopkins of Englee, Madonna (Winston) Fillier and Joan (Wilburn) of Roddickton; 35 grandchildren; 67 great- grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Visitation took place at Apostolic Faith Church in Roddickton from where the funeral service was held on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Rene Cassell officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

APPLIN, GEORGE
Port Saunders

It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Applin announce his passing on Friday, Feb. 3, 2006 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 55 years. He leaves to mourn his common-law wife Mary McCarthy, step-children Vince (Sue), Dwaine (Holly) and Roxanne (Jerry); step-grandchildren Brittany, Brent, Callie, Nikita, Hayle, Tyler and Taylor; sisters Sheila (Wade) Barney of St. Anthony, Ethel (Rob) Coombs of Shoal Cove, Ivy (Elias) Noseworthy of Alberta, Alma (William) Elliott of Raleigh, Valerie (Harvey) Gaulton of Savage Cove, Peggy (daughter Bobbie) of Corner Brook and Gertrude (Cyril) Ryland of Port au Choix; brothers Jake (Becky) of Shoal Cove and Ross (son Sam) of Toronto; special friends Gary and Wanda Dobbin, and Bill and Ilene Lowe of Port Saunders, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Jacob and Muriel, sister Lucy, brothers Gordon, Amos, Gerald, Winston and Archibald. Visitation took place at St. John the Divine Anglican Church in Port Saunders on Saturday and Sunday from where the funeral service was held on Monday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Tanya White officiating. Interment followed in the Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.

SIMMS, VERNA (HUSSEY)
St. Anthony

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Verna Simms announce her passing at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Feb. 6, 2006, age 74 years. She leaves to mourn her husband of 54 years Garland; sons Terry (Pansy), Randy, Linzie (Jennifer) and Greg (Darlene); grandchildren Trevor (Paula), Petrina, Terri-Lynn (Robbie), Clay, Krista (Allan), Roland, Neila an Colby; nine great-grandchildren; sisters Margaret (George) Pilgrim and Maise (Morgan) Morgans; sisters-in-law Rita Saunders and Mary Ann March; brother-in- law Clayton Simms (Bertha), as well as a circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Spurgeon and Annie Hussey, brothers Sidney and William and sisters Mary and Cecily. Visitation took place at the funeral home on West Street. The funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at the United Church in St. Anthony with Rev. John McGonigle officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

HOUSE, WINSTON
Port au Choix

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Winston House announce his passing on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006 at the age of 65 years. He leaves to mourn his partner Eileen; sons Jeff (Diane) of Halifax, Gerard (Tammy) of Port Saunders and Byron (Evelyn) of Port au Choix; grandchildren Tyler, Carly, Adam, Jenny and Angie; step-children Amanda (Art) House of Port au Choix and Ernie (Denise) McGrath of Belburns; step-grandchildren Shandy, Alyssa, Kendrick, Jeremy, Kegan, and Melanie; his twin brother Lawrence (Jane) of Port Saunders and brothers Walter (Audrey) of Hawkes Bay, Harley (Sarah) of Bishop's Falls; sisters Rita (Cyril) of Hawkes Bay, Ida (Howard) Davis of Ontario and Edna of Hawkes Bay, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. The family received friends at the Pentecostal Church in Port Saunders on Saturday and Sunday from where the funeral service was held on Monday, Feb. 13 at 11 a.m. with Pastor George Coles officiating. Interment followed in the Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.

DIAMOND, ANNE MARIE
June 1, 1949 - Feb. 10, 2006

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Anne Marie Diamond announce her passing on Friday, Feb. 10, 2006 at her family residence in Green Island Brook at the age of 56 years in the presence of her loving family. She leaves to mourn her husband Isaac; children Sandra, Roderick (Sanya) and Keith; grandchildren Merissa and Hayley; sister Fanny Joy (Hubert); step-sister Bride Rowe; stepbrother Dave Slade (Barb); sisters-in-law Faye (Warren), Hazel (Harrison), Carrie (Rendell), Josephine (Myles), Shirley, Hannah (Ralph) and Nita (Kirby); brothers-in-law Herbert (Rachel), Roland (Norma), Noah (Laura), Ford (Sharon), Clyde (Pansy), Levi (Patsy) and Carl (Karen), as well as a large circle of extended family, nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Visitation took place at the Kindom Hall in St. Anthony on Friday and Saturday from where the funeral service was held on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 12:30 p.m. with Mr. Brian Cowx officiating. Interment followed at the Green Island Brook Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix/ Bear Cove.

CARNELL, STEPHEN SR.
July 39, 1923 - Feb. 12, 2006

Surrounded by his loving family, Stephen Carnell Sr. of Flower's Cove, passed peacefully away on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006 in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador. He was in his 82nd year. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Mary Carnell, twin daughters Nancy and Edna Tia, brothers Sidney and Alexander and several other siblings. Leaving to mourn wife Dola of 55 years; children Sibyl (Sterling), Gloria (Ernie), Mary (Tony), Barbara (Peter), Carol (Douglas), Stephen (Bernadette), Rona (Sean), Dawn, and Gary (grandson); grandchildren Michelle Chubbs, Sherri Sullivan (Jason), Christopher Chubbs, Sherryl White, Stephen H. Carnell, Kent White, Sandi White, Stacy Carnell, Kara White, Jade Carnell, and Hayee Carnell Fradsham; great- greatchildren Michael Chubbs, Damien, Dillon and Dakota Sullivan, Taylor White and Rylee O' Brien as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation took place at the United Church in Flowers Cove on Feb. 14th, 15th and the morning of the 16th. The funeral service took place at the United Church in Flowers Cove at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16 with Rev. Karl Arnold officiating. Music was provided by Jock Gardiner. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery in Flowers Cove.

NOSEWORTHY, WINNIFRED B. (WILLIAMS)
Green Island Brook

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Winnifred Noseworthy (Winnie) announce her passing on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006 at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 73 years, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Leaving to mourn son James (Bina) of Green Island Brook; daughter Elizabeth (Theophilus) of Raleigh; grandchildren William, Kalie, Jackie, Ian, Tad, Ted and Michael; sisters Stella Noseworthy of Green Island Brook, and Laura Martin of Goose Bay; brother Wesley Williams of St. John's. She was predeceased by her husband Clyde and daughter Wendy. Visitation took place at St. Andrews Church of Lower Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21 with Rev. Diane Smith officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Lavinia Fillatre, funeral director.

NORMORE, THOMAS
L'Anse au Loup

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Thomas Normore announces his passing at Labrador South Health Centre on Feb. 25, 2006 at the age of 86 years. Leaving to mourn with fond memories daughters Dianna Davis (the late Albert), Herselia Flynn (Raymond), Delilah Rose (Wallace), Phyllis Layden (Leslie John) and Christine Ryland (Garfield); sons Malachi (Grace) Richard (Mildred) and Thomas Jr. (Aline); 31 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Normore (Bell) and son Henry, parents John and Ellen Normore, brother Llewelyn, William, Michael, Stanford and Claude, sisters Margaret and Isabella. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in L'Anse au Loup on Saturday and Sunday from where the funeral service was held on Monday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Marlaine Leggo officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Church Cemetery in L'Anse au Loup. As expressions of sympathy flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, L'Anse au Loup.

MYERS, ALICE MIRIAM
Bird Cove

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alice Myers announces her passing on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 63 years. She heaves to mourn her children Kay (Stan) Toope of Pond Cove, Jean (Jimmy) Bennett of Pasadena, Hughie (Sheila) and Mike (Irene) of Bird Cove, Bernice (Stewart) Mahar of Alberta, Geraldine (Mose) Caines of Bird Cove, Philomena (Larry) Myers and Clance of Port Saunders, Leon (Annetta) of Toronto, and Gerard and David of Bird Cove; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers Lambert (Jocelyn) Kennedy of Port au Choix and Michael Kennedy of Vancouver; sisters Madeline (Martin) Caines of Port au Choix and Theresa Caines of Bartlett's Harbour, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Uriah, three children, grandchildren Mario and Damien, sister Annie Pittman and brothers Douglas and Thomas Kennedy. Visitation took place at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church in Bird Cove on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from where the funeral service was held on Thursday, March 2 with Rev. Devas officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.

ATKINS, JOSEPH M.
Port au Choix

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Atkins announces his passing on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 67 years. He leaves to mourn his stepfather Michael Gould; brothers Clan (Mary Ann) of Port Saunders, Richard (Freda) of Stephenville, Rendell, Martin (Margaret), Wade, Craig, Bradley (Renee), and Vincent (Emily), all of Port au Choix; sisters Ivy of Flowers Cove, Dephina Curtis of Corner Brook, Margaret Pitcher of Ontario, And Barbara and Juanita (Rex) Boyd of Port au Choix, Joseph has an extended family that he leaves to mourn - the Cunards from Brig Bay and area, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Rowena and father George Cunard, brothers Clyde, Percy and Lloyd, and sisters Sherry, Donna and Blanche. Visitation took place at Fillatre's Funeral Home in Port au Choix on Wednesday and Thursday. The funeral service was held at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church on Friday, March 3 with Rev. Roger officiating. Interment followed at Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.

GENGE, MATTHEW
Anchor Point

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Matthew Genge of Anchor Point announce his passing on Friday, Feb. 28, 2006 at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 86 years. He leaves to mourn son Amos; daughters Lillian White, Frances ( Gerry) Gros and Marguerite (Ed) Penney; grandchildren Louis, Amos Whyman, Albert and Bruce White, Doug Gros, Kim Short, Matthew and Jeffery Penney; great-grandchildren Bradley, Brandon, Chantelle, Shana, Tyler, Rebecca, Heather and Sarah White, Joshua Gros, Aaron, Quinton, Megan and Caitlyn Short, Kyle, Ashley, Victoria and Matthew Penney; brothers Cyril and Albert; sisters-in- law Agnes and Georgina, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife Sophia three years ago. The family recieved friends at St. Matthew's Anglican Church in Anchor Point from where the funeral service was held on Monday, Feb. 27, 2006 with Rev. Steven Maki officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Levinia Caines Fillatre, funeral director.

TAYLOR, MAE
Raleigh

Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006 at John M. Gray Centre, Mae Taylor, age 92 years. She is survived by her children Pearl (Carl), Edmond (Millicent), Fayne (Joe), Maude (Don), Lemuel, Glenn (Barbara), as well as 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, and sister Faustina Cull. She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth in 1965. Visitation took place at the United Church in Raleigh. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 4 with Rev. John McGonigle officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Levinia Caines Fillatre, funeral director.

WARD, GORDON
Port Hope Simpson

Passed peacefully away on Feb. 28, 2006, Gordon Ward, age 47 years. Left to mourn with fond memories his mother Julia; sisters Mary Hannah (Edward), Susan (Harvey) and Judy; brothers Bill (Vivian), Denley (Darlene), Glenn (Lesley), as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Gordon, brother Bert, sisters Naomi and Priscella and nephew Cameron. Visitation took place at the Pentecostal Church in Port Hope Simpson from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on March 3, 2006 with Pastor Kippenhuck officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.
