Passed peacefully away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Dec. 3, 2014, Mrs. Ida Hazel Colbourne of Roddickton in her 78th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her loving husband Wesley; sons Garry (Violet), Alvin, Lorne (Lucinda), Austin, Terry (Belinda), and Keith (Lisa); daughters Ivy (Guy), Rita (Stephen), and Wavey; 23 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers Pleamon (Leah), Wilfred (Iona), Barry (Viviann) as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Roy and Cinderella Pollard, son Wesley, sisters Annie Hopkins and Dena Pollard, brothers Hubert Pollard, Jim Pollard and Stafford Pollard. Visitation took place at Calvary Pentecostal Temple in Roddickton from where the funeral service was held on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Benjamin Brown officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

CUNARD, Phyllis
Passed on: December 7th, 2014

Passed peacefully away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Dec. 7, 2014, Mrs. Phyllis Cunard of Brig Bay in her 58th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Eli; son Jason (Tina); daughter Jessica; grandchild Austyn; her parents Stanley and Amy Coates; brothers Kevin (Dorothy), Dennis (Lilly), and Jun (Emma); sisters Bernette and Valerie (Leon); brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents-in-law, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Visitation took place at the St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Lower Cove from where the funeral service was held on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Eddies Cove East. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

DECKER, Janie Jemima
Passed on: December 16th, 2014

Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Centre on Dec. 16, 2014, Mrs. Janie Jemima Decker of St. Anthony in her 87th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memoires her son Jim (Seamon); her daughters Ann (Mathew), Patty (Scott), and Allison; her grandchildren Kris, Sarah, Isaac, Ethan, and Levi; great-grandson Kayden as well as a large circle of other family and friends. Janie was the last departing member of her family. Her visitation took place at the funeral home in St. Anthony followed by the funeral service which was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19 with Reverend Dinesh Gomes officiating. Interment followed at the Fishing Point United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

GENNEAUX, Edgar
Born: December 17th, 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of Edgar Genneaux (1931 - 2014) announces his passing at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014. He leaves to mourn a loving family: Brothers: Patrick, Vincent (Olive), Norbert (Lorna), Francis (Frank), and (Ilene); sisters, Julia (Kevin) Kennedy, and Agnes (John) Gaslard; step-brothers Ben (Audrey) Lavers, and John (Eliza) Lavers; step-sisters Gertrude (Melvin) Eastman, Mary McCarthy, and Veronica (Bruce) Lockemer. He was predeceased by parents Francis (Frank) and Lucy (Gaulton) Genneaux, brothers Stanley and Charles Genneaux, sister Susan Genneaux, step-brothers Henry Lavers, and Arthur Lavers, step-sisters Maude Mitchell, Amy Chapella, Angela Clarke, Rose Easton, Theresa Lavers, and Irene Lavers. He also leaves to mourn his very good friends and caretakers Agnes and Randy Clance and family. His many friends and extended family will miss him greatly. The funeral service took place at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Port Saunders on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. and interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove with Father Britto presiding. GOODYEAR, Doreen J.

Doreen J. Goodyear
of Moncton, New Brunswick (formerly of Roddickton), age 60, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, December 29, 2014. Born in Bloomfield, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Virginia (Peddle) Fry. Doreen was a retired Registered Nurse with 30 years' service. She was a member of St. John's United Church in Moncton and the John Wesley United Church in Roddickton. Doreen will be sadly missed by her husband of 40 years, Clarence Goodyear; daughter, Carla Bellefleur (Luc) of Moncton; son Michael Goodyear of Halifax, Nova Scotia; grandchildren Nicholas and Chloe; sisters, Sheila Lynch (John) of Lewin's Cove and Bonnie Piercey (Jim) of Gander; niece and nephews; mother-in-law, Ruby Goodyear and sister-in-law, Pauline Cooze (Emerson), both of Badger's Quay. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Baby Girl Goodyear and one sister, Joan Fry. A memorial service for Doreen was held at St. John's United Church, Moncton on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with The Rev. Aaron Billard officiating. Interment, St. Luke's United Church, Musgrave Harbour at a later date. Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (506-858-1995) in care of arrangements. HYNES, Kevin

Kevin Hynes
of St. Anthony was born on April 13, 1964 to Hazel and Edward Hynes. During his short life, Kevin had much sickness. He loved to salmon fish and take road trips with his buddies; he enjoyed the simple things. Kevin passed away into peace on Dec. 9, 2014 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 50 years. Left to mourn his passing are his brothers and sisters Peggy (Ronald), Joan (Boyd), Terry (Delores), Donna (Greg), Eddie (Erdie), Lee, and Wayne (Bonnie); nephews Philip, Michael, Derick, Chris, Stephanie, and Robin; aunt Martha and uncle Don; Adam, Hazel, Paul, Sabrina, Samantha, Annalee, Emily, Tiara, Michaela, Riley, Charlotte, Thomas, Thea, Thorden, Charles, Anjelika, Abigail, Dominick and Avery, and a large circle of friend,s especially his buddies Glen Pilgrim and Frank Simms and "Buddy", his cat. In his short life he saw the passing of his parents Hazel and Edward, his grandparents Mary and James Patey, Charles and Janet Hynes and his niece Cheryl-Dee. Visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony after which the funeral service took place at St. Mary's Anglican Church in St. Anthony on Friday, Dec. 12 with Rev. Fr. Paul C. Findlay officiating. Cremation followed the service with burial to be announced at a later date. Funeral services were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

KENNEDY, Agnes

Passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 24, 2014, with all her loving family by her side, after a long battle with Alzheimer's, Agnes Kennedy of Bird Cove, in her 90th year. She leaves behind with fond and loving memories her sons John Kennedy (Lily) and Rodney Kennedy (Elizabeth); daughter Lorie Kennedy; grandson Perry Kennedy (Chianna); granddaughters Tara Mahar (Jordan), Viki Kennedy (Mark), and April Kennedy; great-grandsons Jamal Kennedy, and Nathan Kennedy; brother Michael Mahar; sister Isabel Kennedy, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband John Kennedy, parents Michael and Catherine Mahar, sisters Evangeline Caines, Mary Ann Mahar, Catherine Mahar and Josephine Mahar, and brothers Christopher Mahar and Peter Mahar. Visitation took place at Our Lady of Grace Church in Bird Cove from where the funeral service was held on Saturday, Dec. 27 at 2 p.m. with Fr. Britto Adaikalam officiating. Interment followed in the Roman Catholic Cemetery at Bird Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

MITCHELMORE, Lambert

Passed peacefully away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on Dec. 31, 2014, Mr. Lambert Mitchelmore of Green Island Cove in his 78th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife Mamie Ellen; children Brenda (Loomis), Scott (Janette), Sidney (Gail), Kirby (Velda) and Ruby (Randy); grandchildren Monty (Denise), Ryan (Judy), Holly, Dylan, Katie, Kianna, Colton, Nicholas, Shannon and Alyson; great-grandchildren Cody, Leya, Reid and Emma; sister Martha Jane Parrill; sister-in-law Rhoda Mitchelmore, as well as close friends and family. He was predeceased by parents William and Ruth Mitchelmore, brothers Clyde, Douglas, Sidney, and George William, sister Violet White and nephew Clyde Mitchelmore Jr. Visitation took place at St. Andrews Anglican Church in Lower Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2 with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Green Island Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. MOORES, Clifton Roland

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clifton Roland Moores announces his sudden passing at his home in Anchor Point on Dec. 1, 2014 at the age of 63 years. Left to mourn are his wife of 42 years, Millicent; children Trixie (Leroy), Trina (Dave), and Tyson (Sabrina); grandchildren Nakita, Megan, Keegan, Kaylan, Aleisha and Ava; great-grandchild Jaxson; stepmom Margaret Moores; his siblings Abe (Vert), Hiram (Helena), Edmund (Doreen), David (Amanda), Beulah (Jake), Brone (Bill), Marvin (Louise), Troy (Connie), Una, and Fiona, as well as a large circle of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, family and friends. Clifton was predeceased by his parents Eli and Larola Moores, his in-laws Emanuel Sr. and Dora Genge, brother Leonard, brothers-in-law Montrose and Emanuel Genge Jr., nephews EJ Moores and Leonard Jr. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Anchor Point from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5 with Rev. Irving Letto and Rev. John McGonigle officiating. Burial followed the service at the Anchor Point Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

NEWCOMBE, Honora

Honora (Scanlon) Newcombe
of Bartlett's Harbour, in her 89th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories brothers John (Effie) Scanlon, and Joseph (Marian) Scanlon; sisters Susanne Thynne, Florence Johnson and Rita Offery; and special niece Honora (Carter) Taylor. Also grieving her death while holding fond memories of her life in their hearts, are a wide circle of special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband John, parents Joseph and Mary Ann Scanlon and brothers Elias and Jerry. Visitation took place at Sacred Heart Church in Bartlett's Harbour from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31 with Fr. Britto officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

PARRILL, Effie

Passed peacefully away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Dec. 10, 2014, Effie Parrill of Bear Cove, in her 67th year. She leaves to mourn with a lifetime of memories her children Holly (Jim), Chris (Della) and Marjorie (Peter); grandchildren Thomas, Emily, Ramsey and Brooklyn; sister Laverne (Arthur) Genge; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Whyman Parrill, parents William and Marjorie Chambers, and parents-in-law Gilbert and Miriam Parrill. Visitation was held at St. Boniface Anglican Church in Bear Cove from where the funeral took place on Saturday, Dec 13 at 2 p.m. with Rev Irving Letto officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Pines Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

PLOWMAN, Bertha Ella

It is with great loss and sadness that the family of Bertha Ella (Eastman) Plowman of Port au Choix announces her passing at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre on Dec. 31, 2014 at the age of 78 years. She leaves to mourn her husband Clyde; daughters Elizabeth (Frank) and Veronica; sons Richard and Larry (Beverly); grandchildren Melanie (Rob) and Alyson (Samuel); sisters-in-law Alma, Dolly, Noreen (John), Hilda (Joseph) and Marie (Martin); brother-in-law Everett "Ebby"; nieces Sharon (Steve) and Cassie (Lawrence); nephews John and Wilson (Della), as well as many caring family, friends and neighbours. She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Elizabeth (Offrey) Eastman, sister Cecilia, brother Michael and parents-in-law Henry and Lucy (Atkins) Plowman. Visitation took place at the funeral home on Thursday and Friday with a family service on Friday at 7 p.m. The funeral service was held at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, Port au Choix on Saturday, Jan. 3 with Father Britto officiating and Father Raj assisting. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy Cove. Donations in her memory may be made to The Cancer Centre Western Region, 1 Brookfield Ave., Corner Brook, NL, A2H 6J7. REID, Matthew Levi
Born: January 15th, 1987

Matthew Reid
was born in St. Anthony on Jan. 15, 1987. He moved away with his mom to Gander at the age of two years. He made many moves with his military family throughout his childhood years. In December, 2010, Matthew decided to move back home to St. Anthony. In 2011, Matthew met his wife Penney and his stepson Reid Taylor. They began their lives together and were happily married on Nov. 9, 2013. Matthew dearly loved his family and cherished every moment he spent with them. Despite a very difficult year, Matthew and Penney shared a miracle when their beautiful daughter, Isabella, was born on Aug. 7, 2014. Anyone who knew Matthew knew that he was so proud to be a father. He loved his children, wife and family and his extra special friends unconditionally without question. Matthew Levi Reid of St. Anthony passed away on December 29, 2014. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Penney; son Reid; daughter Isabella; son Emmanuel (adopted); parents Dawn and Mike Walsh; brother Leo; grandparents Jean and Levi Reid; grandmother Isabella Walsh; grandfather Mike Walsh (Barb), numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, extra special friends Brenda Best and Brad Shattler, the Nicholas family, and a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by a number of grandparents and aunts and uncles on both sides of the family, and especially his great uncle Levi Reid, who Matthew held very dear to his heart. Visitation took place at St. Mary's Anglican Church in St. Anthony from where the funeral service was held 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3 with Rev. Paul Findlay officiating. Cremation followed at Russell's Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Children's Trust Fund. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

WALSH, Peter

It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Walsh of Flowers Cove passed away at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders on Monday, Dec. 29, 2014 at the age of 93 years. He had been residing at the Northern Retirement Home in Port Saunders. He leaves to mourn his brother Frank Walsh and a very special cousin Mary Jane (Danney) Perry of Hawkes Bay, and a circle of other family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all his friends at the retirement home. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Bridget (nee Burke) Walsh, brothers Jerome, Joseph and John Patrick, sisters Angelia Walsh, Mary Walsh, and Elizabeth (Liv) Girard. Visitation took place at Fillatre's Funeral Home in Port au Choix on Wednesday and Thursday. The funeral service followed at Our Lady of Snow Roman Catholic Church in Flowers Cove on Friday, Jan. 2, at 2 p.m. Interment followed in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Flowers Cove with Father Britto presiding. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Homes Ltd. in Port au Choix. Friends may visit our website at www.fillatre.ca to sign the guest book.

WILCOX, Evelyn Wavey

Passed away into peace on Dec. 11, 2014 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial in St. Anthony, Mrs. Evelyn Wavey Wilcox of Roddickton in her 67th year. Evelyn leaves to mourn her husband Melvin, Roddickton; sons Morris and Darlene Wilcox, Roddickton, Benson and Philomena Wilcox, Main Brook, Eddie and Pearl Wilcox, Grand Falls, and Bradley Wilcox, Grande Prairie, Alberta; daughters Valda and Raymond Hancock, Roddickton, Dina Hancock, Roddickton, and Linda and Edward Hancock, Roddickton; sister Susie Hancock, Roddickton, as well as 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation was held at the Apostolic Faith Church in Roddickton, from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14 with Rev. Christopher R. Hewlett officiating. Burial followed the service at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.
