BAINES, Roland
Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Dec. 5, 2010, Mr. Roland Baines of Shoal Cove West, NL, at the age of 78 years. He was predeceased by son Hank, parents Michael and Johanna (Macey), brothers Cecil, Willie, and Ronald. Leaving to mourn with cherished memories his wife Mary Evelyn; daughters Beulah Gibbons (Dwight) and Holly Baines (Derrick); son Michael; granddaughters SheriLee Chambers (Borje), and Jean Gibbons (Scott); great-grandson Michael Chambers; brother Archibald; sisters-in-law Elizabeth, Susan and Bertha, also a large circle of relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place and interment will take place at a later date. Funeral services entrusted to Barrett's Funeral Home, St. John's.

BARRETT, Mary Dorcas
Passed away suddenly at her home in Raleigh, NL, on Dec. 28, 2010, Mrs. Mary Dorcas Pynn Martin Barrett, in her 65th year. Mary leaves behind, with many loving memories, her husband Bruce; her sons Ian (Mildred) and Gaden (Gwen); grandsons Travis, and Gavin (Shannon); granddaughters Angela (Steve), Cindy, and Bonnie; great-grandson Evan and great-granddaughters Emma, Madison, Jorja and Faith; sister Virtue (Barton); brothers Gayden and Amos (Madeline), and brother-in-law Noah. She was predeceased by her sons James and Ralph, sisters Laura, Leah and Lura, brothers Enos and sister-in-law Delcie. Visitation was held at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Raleigh from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, with Rev. Diane Smith officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

CHAYTOR, Anastasia (Nee Drudge)
Passed peacefully away on Dec. 26, 2010 at the North Pond Manor, Torbay. Anastasia Chaytor formerly of Croque, NL, age 75 years. She is predeceased by her grandson Devon and sister Edna Drudge. Leaving to mourn her husband of 48 years Albert; her children Gordon (Josephine), Shirley (Reg Gravell), Hazel Edwards (Richard), Wade (Judy) and Paul (Lisa Stevens); nine beloved grandchildren; brothers Clifford Kearney (Mary), William Drudge, Patrick Drudge and John Drudge (Evangeline); sister Bridget Murrin (John); sister-in-law Marie Reardon (Graham Richards); brothers-in-law Verg Chaytor (Anastasia) and Frank Chaytor (Ina); special family friend Anne Whiteway as well as other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation took place on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral service took place on Thursday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m. at Caul's Chapel. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bauline Line, Torbay. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her memory to the Parkinson's Society Newfoundland and Labrador.
"A Tender Mother, She Loved And Was Loved"

COLES, Frederick George
Passed away on Dec. 21, 2010 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, Mr. Frederick George Coles of Roddickton, NL, in his 83rd year. Frederick leaves to mourn his daughters Bernetta and Peggy-Ann; his sons George (Shirley), Ross (Pamela), Eugene (Yvonne), Bert (Jo-Ann), and Davin (Sharon). His grandsons Jonathan (Maeghan), Corey (Tracy), Jared, Chad, and William; granddaughters Deanna, Heather, Karla, Janna, Chantell, and Kristen; great-granddaughter Makenzie; and great-grandsons Noah, Judan, and Asher, as well as a large circle of family and friends. Frederick was predeceased by his beloved wife Tryphena and his parents Jasper and Beatrice Coles. Visitation was held at the Calvary Pentecostal Temple in Roddickton, from where the funeral service took place at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23 with Pastor Craig Gaulton officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

COMPTON, Deanne Christine (Nee Alcock)
Passed away after a courageous battle with illness on Dec. 24, 2010, Deanne Compton of St. Anthony, NL, age 43 years. She is predeceased by grandparents Lilies and Robert Reid and Gladys and John Alcock; and father-in-law Abraham Compton. Left to mourn with everlasting memories her husband Robert Compton; parents Joyce and Lewis Alcock; sister Lisa Jacobs (Rick); brother Paul Alcock (Dawn); mother-in-law Millicent Compton; sisters-in-law Tracy and Sharon; brothers-in-law Randy and Perry; nieces and nephews Grace, Andrea, Joshua and Reid, who were very dear to Deanne's heart; special uncle Jack Alcock; along with a large circle of family and friends. Visitation was held at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, Monday, Dec. 27 from 1-3 p.m., as well as visitation at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wednesday, Dec. 29 from 7-9 p.m. A service took place at the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Monday, Dec. 27, at 3 p.m. and a funeral service was also held at St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church, St. Anthony, Thursday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m. with interment in the Anglican Cemetery. Donations in Deanne's memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Resource Foundation or the Diabetic Association. QUINLAN, Dora Elizabeth
It is with great sadness that the family of Dora Quinlan (Matchim) of Savage Cove, NL, announce her passing, Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital at the age of 60. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Norman; her children Delina (Bruce), Jesse (Ginger), Rocky (Bertha), Ricky (Mia), and Vanessa (Jason); her grandchildren Bram, Jessica, Jennifer (Joey), Melinda (Brandon), Jessie, Carter, Quinton, and Linkin; her great-grandchildren Nathan, Malcolm, Triston, Drake, Scott, Tanner, and Shade; her brothers Alf (Selina), Ralph (Phoebe), Gilbert (Trudy), and Richard; her sisters Helen (Corbett), Kay, Eliza (San), Jean (Stan) and Marlene (Bob). She was predeceased by her parents Julia and Edward Matchim, brother David, brother-in-law Bryant, and sister-in-law Delores. Visitation was held at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Savage Cove, from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 27 with Rev. Canon Hubert Vallis officiating. Burial followed immediately at the Anglican Church Cemetery in Savage Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

SIMMS, Wilson Pilgrim
Passed away in: Canada
Passed away suddenly at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Dec. 15, 2010, Mr. Wilson Pilgrim Simms of St. Anthony, NL, in his 75th year. Wilson leaves with fond memories his wife Phoebe of 53 years; his son Jerry (Triffie); daughters Judy (Ed), and Mandy; grandchildren Brandi Cull, Lorne, Melissa and Jeremy Blake; great-grandchildren Tyler, Kyle, Damien and Megan; sisters Beryl Stinson, Edna Earle, and Marjorie Strangemore; brothers Lewis and Marshal Pilgrim, as well as his special nieces Eleanor McLean, and Beryl Pilgrim; in-laws Jane Belbin (Nelson), Hayward Macey (Violet), Hubert Macey (Annie), Ivy Bell (Theodore), Hilda Stone (Ian) and Albert Ryan and a large circle of loving family and friends. Visitation was held at the funeral home followed by the funeral service which took place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18 at the Salvation Army Church in St. Anthony with Majors Raymond and Laura Janes officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

SNOW, Nelson David

Passed away on: 06/12/2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nelson David Snow (March 25, 1946 - Dec. 6, 2010) of Rocky Harbour, NL, announce his tragic passing on Monday, Dec. 6, 2010 in Forteau, Labrador at the age of 64 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his daughters Sharon (Bruce) Rumbolt and Lisa (Donny) Hatcher; special friend Brenda Elford; his pride and joy his special grandchildren Rochelle Rumbolt and Chloe Hatcher; mother Mary Snow; sisters and brothers Cathy (Larry) Prieur, Ronald Snow, Richard (Irene) Snow, Betty (Blaine) Christopher, Harold (Beverly) Snow and Winston (Marie) Snow; extended family friends Dana Pittman and Neil Pittman; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends and co-workers. He was predeceased by his father Raymond Snow, brother Howard Snow, grandparents John and Annie Snow. Friends visited St. Matthew's Anglican Church in Rocky Harbour on Wednesday evening and Thursday from where the funeral service took place on Friday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. with Rev. John Olsson officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Matthew's Anglican Church Memorial Fund. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca
