It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edna Perry announce her passing on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 79 years. She leaves to mourn children Derek, Wade (Cathy), Rhoda (Keith) and Jack (Jeanie); grandchildren Art, Brent, Rhonda, Sheldon, Tony, Christopher, Jonathan, Krista, Jeana, Chrissie, Rex, Vince, Tracy, Larry Jr., and Borje; great-grandchildren Angela, Ricky, Shandy, Alyssa, Angelina, Rebecca, Ava, Austin, Cody, Jordan, Miguel, Shalyn, Braxdon, Andrew, Brandon, Jeremy, Jessica and Sabrina; daughter-in-law Dorothy; sisters Ida (Howard) and Rita; brothers Walter, Lawrence (Jane), and Harley (Sarah), and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband John, sons Christopher and Larry, parents Ashor and Muriel House, brother Winston; daughters-in-law Juanita and Daisy. The family received friends at Holy Innocent's Church in Hawkes Bay on Wednesday and Thursday from where the funeral service took place on Friday, Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Tanya White officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy Cove. Flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.

KINSELLA, ROSANA
St. Anthony

Passed away at John M. Gray Centre on Dec. 4, Rosana Kinsella, in her 92nd year. Rose is predeceased by her husband George, parents Mary and Cyril Richards, her sister Beatrice Richards, and brothers Benjamin and John Richards. She leaves to mourn her children Sam Kinsella (May), Harold Kinsella (Edna), Shirley Osmond (Rod), Phyllis Janes (Gary), and George Kinsella Jr. (Juanita); grandchildren Stephanie, Sam (Dawn), Brenda, Kim (Mike), Roxanne (Scott), Wavey, Derrick (Cathy), Lorie (Kurt), Sherry (Dennis), Karen (Paul), Paula (David), Craig (Loretta), Kristy (Mark), Kelly (Bernie), Carolyn (Kevin), Steven (Alison), Chris (Tricia), and Travis (Shauna); great-grandchildren Aimee, Hayley, Noah, Allie, Chad, Vanessa, Katie, Curtis, Crystal, Kerry, Amy, Ashley, Jeffrey, Devon, Dillon, Matthew, Julia, Shannon, Madison, Dakota, and Avery; great-great-grandchild Logan; brother Fred Richards; sisters Viola Patey, and Cenith Saunders (Norm); sisters-in-law Blanche Kinsella, Adelaide Richards, and Elizabeth Richards, and special niece Lana Patey, and a large number of relatives and friends. Visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony. The funeral service took place at St. Mary's Anglican Church in St. Anthony at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6with Rev. Ralph Moore officiating. SIMMS, ELLEN SUSANNA
St. Anthony

Passed away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Dec. 4, 2009, Ellen Susanna (Susie) Simms in her 96th year. Susie leaves to mourn her daughter Glorina Drodge, sons Donald (Janet), Daniel, Augustus (Marilyn), and Vernon (Patricia). She also leaves a sister-in-law Marjorie Strangemore, and brother-in-law Wilson (Phoebe) Simms; 18 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and a large circle of family and friends. She is predecased by her loving husband Arnold, daughter Marjorie Ste Claire, son-in-law Reginald Drodge. She is the last sibling of the Way family and will be sadley missed. Visitation took place at KM. Fillatre Funeral Home. The funeral took place at 2 p.m. at the St. Anthony Salvation Army Chruch on Monday, Dec. 7, with Major R. Janes officating. The burial followed in the old Salvation Army Cemetery in St. Anthony. Funeral arangments where entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

RANDELL, CHESLEY THOMAS
Englee

Passed away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Dec. 8, 2009, Chesley T. Randell in his 89th year. Ches leaves to mourn his loving wife of 65 years Edith Pollard; a special niece Lynette (Doug), his brother Cecil (Ida); seven sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law, a number of nieces and nephews as well as many friends. Visitation took place at the Englee United Church from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11 with Rev. John McGonigle officiating, followed by interment in the Englee United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

COOMBS, Christianna
Shoal Cove West

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Christianna Coombs announce her passing on Friday, Dec. 11, 2009 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 83 years. Leaving to mourn her children Marina (Kirby), and Laura (Abe); special niece Wanda (Maurice); grandchildren Audrey (Rick), Roxanne (Rex), Bryce (Tammy), Chuck (Serena), Tina (Wayne), and Colin (Jennifer); great-grandchildren Tyler, Jorden, Cloey, Colby, Ryan, Carly, Ty, Ash, Brianna, Rex, Adam, and April; sisters Ida, Lillian, (Lawrence), and Angeline; in-laws Semonne, Caroline, Shirley, Virgie, Elaine, and Samuel, (Cicely), and a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Henry, son Henry Jr., parents Timothy and Elizabeth Applin; brothers James, Joseph, Aaron, (Leah), and Thomas; and sister Mary Ann (Thomas), in-laws Absalom, Arthur, Isaac, Cecil (Vera), Donald (Marian), Phillip, Ralph, James, Mahalla (Walter) and Virginia. The family received friends at St. Margaret of Scotland Church in Reef's Harbour on Saturday and Sunday from where the funeral service took place on Monday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tanya White officiating. Interment followed at French Cove Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.

COMBDEN, VERA
Daniel's Harbour

Passed peacefully away at the Glenbrook Lodge Nursing Home in St. John's on Saturday Dec. 12, 2009 Vera Combden, (1910-2009). She was 99 years of age and the last surviving member of the family of Abner and Melina Biggin of Daniel's Harbour. Left to celebrate her life are her children, Harley, Warren (Betty), Romaine (John) and Terry (Jacqueline). Also left behind are her ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. NICHOLAS, LUCY
St. Anthony

Passed away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Dec. 15, 2009, Lucy Nicholas in her 96th year. Lucy leaves to mourn her sons Albert and Calvin; 12 grandchildren including special grandson Alwyn; 12 great- grandchildren; her sister Stella, and a large circle of family and friends. She is predeceased by her son Charlie in 2008, her son Joseph in 2002, as well as her loving husband Noah that same year. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony. The funeral service took place on Friday, Dec. 18, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Anglican Church with Rev. Ralph Moore officiating, followed by the burial in the St. Mary's Anglican Cemetery, St. Anthony. The funeral arrangements where entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

PIKE, Theodore Roosevelt
Red Bay

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Roosevelt Pike announce his passing at the family residence in Stephenville on Dec. 17, 2009 at the age of 66 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories brother Ronald (Shirley); sisters Ruby Denny (Woodrow), and Carol Newman (Lorne), niece Krista and nephews David, Peter, Terry, Tony, Robert and Stephan, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by parents Maxwell and Flora Pike, and sister Ella. Visitors were received at the United Church in Red Bay on Sunday from where the funeral service took place Monday Dec. 21. at 2 p.m. with Rev. Marlaine Leggo officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery in Red Bay. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, in L'Anse au Loup.

RUDDY, AGNES
Formally of Goose Cove

Passed away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Dec. 19, 2009 in her 69th year, Agnes (Murrin) Ruddy. Agnes is predeceased by her husband William in October of 2008, as well as her parents Herbert and Catherine Murrin, and brother-in-law George Lewis, nieces Felicia Murrin and Judy Fine. She leaves to mourn brothers and sisters John (Bridget) Murrin, Bridget Lewis, Herb (Theresa) Murrin, Angela (Joe) Kean, Felix (Vera) Murrin, Gordon (Mary) Murrin, Anne (Ray) Walker, Phyllis (Jim) Sinyard, Shirley Simms (Gord), Nellie (Allan) Bock and her in-laws of the Ruddy family of Glasgow, Scotland, also numerous nephews, nieces and friends throughout Canada, U.S.A., Scotland and Ireland. Visitation took place at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony. The funeral took place form the Immaculate Conception Church in Goose Cove with Fr. Edmund Camacho officiating, followed by cremation, with interment in the coming spring. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Goose Cove Roman Catholic Cemetery Fund. St. Anthony Bight
Passed away at the john M. Gray Centre on Dec. 19, 2009 in her 99th year, Beatrice (Cull) Simms, of St. Anthony Bight. Beatrice is predeceased by her husband Gilbert, two sons Valance and Joyce, sisters Mariah, Minnie and Ethel, brothers Joshua, Uriah, Abe and Al. She leaves to mourn her sons Herbert (Norma) Simms, Truman Simms, daughter- in-law Norma Simms, grandchildern Randy and Todd Simms, Mike, Sam, Kevin and Norman Simms, Kate (Todd) Maye and Vanessa Simms and sister Gladys Cull. Visitation took place at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home. The funeral service was held at the United Church in St. Anthony Bight on Thursday, Dec. 24, at 11 a.m. with Rev. John McGonigle officiating. Burial followed in the United Cemetery. Funeral arangments were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickon, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

PILGRIM, WESLEY BYRON
St. Anthony

Passed away suddenly at a private residence in Corner Brook, Wesley Byron Pilgrim on Dec. 19, 2009 at the age of 26 years. Wesley leaves to mourn his loving parents Murdock and Darlene Pilgrim; brother Curtis; sister Miranda; and girlfriend Carrie Parr along with a large circle of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Visitation took place at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home. The funeral was held at the Pentecostal Tabernacle in St. Antony at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, with Pastor Joy officiating. Passed away on Dec. 22, 2009 surrounded by his family, Ross Parrill in his 65th year. Ross leaves to mourn his loving wife Joy of 44 years, along with sons Jerome (Paula) and Dion (Cindy); his grandchildren Shawna, Matthew and Brandon; his mother Priscilla Parrill; twin brother Ron (Pat), as well as brothers Gordon (Pauline), Bob (Terri), Valance and sister Joyce (Kevin), also Joy's family Jerry (Sharon), Harold, Nat (Doretta), Greg (Veronique), and Salome (Felix) and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home. The funeral took place at the St. Anthony United Church at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 26 with Rev. McGonigle officiating. PILGRIM, GLADYS CRITCH
St. Anthony

Passed away peacefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on Dec. 24, 2009, Gladys (Critch) Pilgrim of St. Anthony in her 74th year. Gladys leaves to mourn her loving husband of 57 years Maitland; her two daughters Dianne and Mable (George); son Vince (Daisy); grandson Keith, also sisters-in-law Effie Cooper of St. Anthony, Ethel Mews of St. John's and Una Mackisall (Tony) of Halifax; brother-in-law Lewis Pilgrim (Grace) of Halifax, and a large circle of family and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Mary and Frank Critch. Visitation took place at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service, which was held at the Salvation Army Church in St. Anthony with Major Raymond Janes officiating. Passed away suddenly at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, Beatrice Adelette Manuel on Dec. 24, 2009 in her 69th year. Beatrice leaves to mourn her sons Bobby (Marlene) and Billy (Tara-Lynn); daughters Bonnie (Androcles), and Beverly (Michael); son-in-law Roy Quinlan, mother Stella Earle; brothers Ron (Elizabeth), Hubert (Winnie), Lloyd (Phyllis), Perry (Mary-Ellen) and Shawn (Patsy); sisters Violet (Arthur), Jean (Ross), Donna (Brad), and Linda (Curtis), and a large circle of family and friends. She is predeceased by her husband Allan on Dec. 2, 2007, her daughter Betty on Dec. 31, 2006, and her father Thomas on May 12, 1998. Visitation took place at the Pentecostal Tabernacle in Griquet, from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 28 with Pastor Primmer officiating, followed by burial in the Dark Tickle Anglican Cemetery. ATKINS, Clan Rendell
Port au Choix

It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Clan Rendell Atkins (March 12, 1943 - Dec. 24, 2009) at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders on Thursday, December 24, 2009 at the age of 66 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Mary Ann (nee Doyle); his daughter Connie Genneaux (David); sons Jason Atkins and Paul Gould (Denise); grandsons Andrew Genneaux and Aaron Genneaux; his granddaughter Shara Rumbolt; his brothers Richard Atkins (Alfreda), Rendell Atkins, Martin Atkins, Vince Atkins (Emily), Wade Atkins, Craig Atkins and Brad Atkins (Renee); his sisters Margaret Atkins, Delphina Atkins, Juanita Boyd (Rex), Ivy Atkins, and Barbara Atkins, also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family, friends and his extended family. Clan was predeceased by his son Richard, mother Rowena, father Bill, brothers Joseph, Clyde, Percy and Lloyd, his sisters Donna, Blanche and Sherry. The family received family and friends at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church in Port au Choix Saturday Dec. 26 and Sunday Dec. 27 from where the funeral mass of christian burial took place on Monday, Dec 28 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Ambrose Hynes and Rev. Tanya White officiating. The burial followed at the church cemetery. Passed away at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's, on Dec. 24, 2009 William Burt, in his 84th year. William leaves to mourn his loving wife of nearly 58 years, Mary Jane; his sisters Jane Carruthers and Violet Boone; his loved nieces and nephews as well as brothers-in-law Jeremiah (Ethel), Job (Elizabeth), Norman (Myra), Clifford (Dora), and Robert Moores, as well as sisters-in-law Vera Strangemore and Florence Strangemore and many, many close and dear friends. William is predeceased by his parents Allan and Lavinia, and his sister Ruby Baikie. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home. The funeral took place at the St. Anthony United Church on Monday, Dec. 28. The burial followed at Fishing Point United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

WARD, WILLIAM JOSEPH
Goose Cove

Passed away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Dec. 31, 2009 Mr. William Joseph Ward in his 77th year. William leaves to mourn his sister Elizabeth Simmonds, and sister-in-law Johanna Ward, also 30 nieces and nephews and a large circle of family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Simon and Margret, his brothers Cyril (Bridget Ward) and Felix Ward and brother-in-law Michael Simmonds (Elizabeth). William's wake took place at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony and was followed by the funeral service on Jan. 2 at 2 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Goose Cove with Fr. Edmund Camacho officiating. Burial followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Goose Cove. Funeral arrangements where entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
