LETTO, Catherine Cabot
L’Anse au Loup

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Cathy Letto announces her passing at the family residence in L’Anse au Loup on Dec. 3, 2006, at the age of 39 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories her husband Randy Letto; son Cody; parents Andrew and Patricia Cabot; brother Andy Cabot (Pamela); sister Vanessa Rumbolt (Kirk); nephews Tony and Calvin; nieces Keianna and Tamara, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her brother Jacob. Visitation took place at Our Lady of Labrador Church Chapel in West St. Modeste on Monday and Tuesday from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Anthony O’Dell officiating, assisted by Fr. Tim Moriarity. Cremation took place at Humber Valley Crematorium. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, L’Anse au Loup.

BRIDGER, Loretta Alberta
St. Lunaire-Griquet

Passed away on Dec. 4, 2006, Loretta Bridger of St. Lunaire-Griquet, age 57 years. Leaving to mourn husband Caleb; children Bradley, Belinda Manuel (Lawerence) and Bill (Rhonda); grandchildren Brian Bridger, Danielle Bridger, Kyle Manuel and Sheldon Manuel; great-grandchildren Kobe Peyton; mother Rilla Fillier; sister Mae Waskiewiecz (Tom); brothers Winston Fillier (Madonna), Wilbert Fillier (Joan), Edward Fillier (Minnie), Eric Fillier (Jessie) and Rifford Fillier (Gaye); very special friends Audrey and Wayne Hillier, Jennifer and Justin Hillier, Bobby and Dale Bowie, Tim and Sarah, and a wide circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her father Alfred and brothers Dorman and Freeman. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Griquet from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6 with Rev. Gosse officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

TUCKER, Joseph Edward
(Formerly of Main Brook)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Edward Tucker, formerly of Main Brook, announces his passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Dec. 9, 2006 in his 83rd year. Leaving to mourn wife Myrtle; children Joy (Walter), Gary (Theresa), Lottie (Ken), Ben and Joey; grandchildren Christa (Brent), Christopher, Aaron and Adrian; great-grandchildren Jamie and Jasmine; brothers Chris (Sheila), Bud (Marlene), Herb (Eunice), Gord, Edward (Colleen) and Bob (Wanda); sisters Lottie, Gloria (Tony), Gladys (Ted), Pearl (Jabez), Ann (Bob), Berdine, Joyce (Ralph), Donna (Harris) and Joan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Raymond and Jessie Simms, Melvin and Audrey Hillier, and his loving dog Lucky. He was predeceased by his parents Wanetta and Albert (Ruth), brothers Wilfred and Francis, sisters Verna and Effie, children Pamela and Rexton, grandson Andrew, sisters-in-law Hildagard and Clara, brothers-in-law Frank and Arthur.

CHUBBS, Thomas Sterling
Roddickton

Passed away on Dec. 12, 2006, Thomas Chubbs of Roddickton, age 33 years. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Lois; sons Kyle and Deacon; parents John and Ruby Chubbs; brothers Samuel (Gladys) and Kirby; sisters Ethel Rumbolt (Herbert), Doretta Mitchell (Junior), Jody Randell (Steven) and a large circle of other family and friends. Visitation took place at the Apostolic Faith Church in Bide Arm from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16 with Pastor Quinlan officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral directors.

WAY, Dulcie
Savage Cove

Passed away on Dec. 14, 2006, Dulcie Way, age 78 years. Leaving to mourn sons Earl (Wavie), Alonzo (Judy) and Melvin (Gloria); brother Norman (Nellie); seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, as well as many other family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Llewellyn and son Harrison. Visitation took place at St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Savage Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 18 with Rev. Heidel officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

EDISON, Silas
Hay Cove

Passed away on Dec. 20, 2006, Silas Edison, age 90 years. Left to mourn sister-in-law Frances Hedderson and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Garland, Dorman, Walter and Thomas and sisters Susie, Phoebe and Bertha. Visitation took place at the United Church from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 22 with Rev. Pendleton officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

DAWE, Janet Helen (nee Biles)
St. Anthony

Passed peacefully away on Dec. 24, 2006, Janet Dawe, age 89 years. Left with fond and loving memories daughter Betty (Ross) Pilgrim; granddaughter Sabrina (Morgan) Pilgrim; sisters-in-law Blanche Biles, Bessie Budgell (Charles), Dulcie Burry, Hilda Simms, Ethel Grier, and many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by husband George and sisters Effie (Tasker), Maryann (Richard), Jemima (Ephriam), Elsie (Thomas) and Edith (Herbert); brother Luke and great-grandson Noah Morgan Pilgrim. Visitation was held at K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27 at St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church in St. Anthony with Rev. Canon Jean Brenton-Hickman and Rev. John McGonigle officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

PARRILL, Mary Elizabeth (nee Applin)
Pines Cove

Passed away on Dec. 25, 2006, Mary Elizabeth Parrill, age 72 years. Left with fond memories are husband John; children Judy Taylor (Kevin), Virginia Parrill (Gordon), Joy Hurley (Guy) and Ellen Gibbons (David); grandchildren Rochelle Taylor (Morley), Melissa Bessey (Lorne), Gregory Taylor (Tammy), Tanya Hurley, Danica Gibbons and Dominique Gibbons; great-grandchildren Jessica Bessey, Madison Larkin Taylor and Nathan Taylor Norman; brother William Applin (Dulcie); sisters Keziah Evans (William), Irene Taylor (Lawrence), Sybil Taylor (the late Roland), Naomi Hughes (Hubert), Donna Hughes (Calvin) and Edna Taylor (the late Walter); sisters-in-law Rachel Applin (the late Richard Henry), Margaret Manuel (the late Ross) and Goldie Mitchelmore (the late Levi); brother-in-law Roy Parrill (Hazel); special friends Evelyn and Wilfred Roberts, and a wide circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by parents Ellen and William Applin, stepmother Eliza, brothers Richard Henry, Walter, Anson and Edmund. Visitation took place at K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony. The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 29 at St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church with Rev. Canon Jean Brenton-Hickman officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Pines Cove, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

CHAMBERS, Stanley
(Formerly of Blue Cove)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Stanley Chambers announces his passing at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Dec. 31, 2006 in his 81st year. Leaving to mourn daughters Maryann (Bobby) and Patsy (George); grandchildren Brian (Abby), Jamie (Jessica), Kayla and Jasmin, and sister Virginia Toope. He was predeceased by wife Dorcas. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Plum Point from where the funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 2 with Rev. Maki officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery on Darby Island. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

QUINLAN, Betty Joy
Shoal Cove East
1959-2006

Passed away on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006 in the presence of her loving family, Betty Quinlan at the age of 47 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories husband Roy; daughters Myrna (Wilson) and Melina (Albert); son Jamie (Trudy); grandchildren Chelsey, Jade and Jamie-Lee; parents Allan and Beatrice Manuel of Griquet; brothers Bobby (Marlene) and Billy (Tara-Lynn); sisters Bonnie (Drake) and Beverly (Mike), along with a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation took place at St. Thomas Anglican Church in Sandy Cove on Tuesday and Wednesday from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4 with Rev. Diane Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Bear Cove.
