VIAU, WILLIAM EDWARD
Leomister, MA USA It is with great sadness that the family of the late William
Edward Viau announces
his passing on Dec. 11, 2000 at the age of 78. Leaving to mourn his daughters
Lisa of Corner Brook, and Dianne of Florida; son Richard of Massachusetts;
four grandchildren and many family members and friends. William (known to his
family and friends as Bill) worked in Florida as a wallpaper hanger for many
years. He made River of Ponds, where he loved to salmon fish, his summer home
for the past 40 years. An intimate service was held on Jan. 6, 2001 at the
Unity Church of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The funeral service was performed
by David Florence. He will be truly missed by many.
HUNT, JAMES
Conche
Passed peacefully away at the Grenfell Regional Health Centre in Roddickton
on Dec. 19, 2000. He was in his 85th year. Leaving to mourn
two sons, Francis (Gertrude) of Conche and Wilfred (Brenda) of St. John's;
three sisters, Rita (Leonard) Abbott, Adelle Hunt and Rose Casey; eight grandchildren,
Judy, Delsie, Dale, Michelle, Marie, Clayton, Eric and Wilfred; six great-grandchildren,
Barry, T.J., Jonathan, Garry, Tyson and Erica. He was predeceased by his wife
Ellen on Oct. 14, 2000. The funeral took place at 11 a.m. on Dec. 22 from the
Sacred Heart Church in Conche with Fr. Ed Terry and Fr. Jan Gal officiating
followed by interment in the church cemetery. His remains rested at the church.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, Roddickton,
Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

Savage Cove
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary
Ann Way announces
her passing at her family residence on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000 in
her 82nd year. She leaves to mourn her husband Daniel; daughters Hazel (Robert)
Newhook and Vivian; sons Garfield (Eve), Abe (Olive), Ernest (Olga), Ken (Judy),
Tom (Daisy) and Dan Jr. (Laverne); brother Grant Way; 19 grandchildren; 10
great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased
by sons Garfield, Clayton and Frank and grandson Randy. The funeral service
took place on Saturday, Dec. 23 at 2 p.m. from St. Mark's Anglican Church in
Savage Cove with interment in the Anglican Cemetery, Savage Cove. As expressions
of sympathy, flowers or donations can be made to a charity of one's choice.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's funeral Home, Port au Choix.

Passed peacefully away at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Dec.
23, 2000. She was in her 83rd year. Leaving to mourn husband Ambrose;
son Scott (Nellie); daughter Blanche (Elliott); grandchildren Dee (David),
Kris (Paulette), Hope, Michelle, Telva (Ken) and Tom (Wendy); 13 great-grandchildren;
brothers Harvey and Frank (Mary); sisters Marsha (Lew), Rita (Eric) and Joyce
(Noah) and a circle of relatives and friends. The funeral service took place
at 2 p.m. on Dec. 27 from Calvary Pentecostal Church in Griquet with Pastor
Andrews officiating, followed by interment in the church cemetery. Her remains

Xavier Roman Catholic Church in St. Anthony with interment in the church cemetery

Dec. 31, 2000. He was in his 61st year. Leaving
to mourn common- law spouse Effie Coombs; son Perry; brothers, Harrison (Jessie),
Edmund (Mahalla), Stewart (Bessie), Rendell, Angus (Mamie), Noah (Nellie),
Samuel (Linda) and Clarence; sisters Lucy (Leander Baines), Eliza (Clyde Tucker),
Selina (Gidd Applin) and Jessie (Hayward Baines) and a large circle of nieces,
nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by parents Samuel and Evangeline,
brother's Chesley and Thomas, and sister Hazel. The funeral service took place
at 2 p.m. on Jan. 3 from St. Margaret's Anglican Church in Shoal Cove West
with Rev. Ross Rumbolt officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
