COOMBS, Harrison
Passed away peacefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Aug. 20, 2011, Mr. Harrison Coombs of Plum Point, NL, in his 82nd year. He leaves to mourn with a lifetime of fond and loving memories his brothers Lorenzo (Mary), and Lawrence; sisters Susan, Bertha, and Joanna; nieces Ivy, Joy, Rachel, and Peggy; nephews Darrell, Justin, Aaron, Jeffery, Travis, Cyril, Winston, Harrison, Walter, and Donald. He was predeceased by his mother Florence and father Absalom, brothers-in-law Gordon and Clyde, sister-in-law Nellie, nephews Absalom and Gordon. Visitation was held at The Church of The Advent in Plum Point from where the funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23 with Rev. Harold Harvey officiating. Burial followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Pond Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

DOREY, Wilfred
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Wilfred Dorey of Pinware, NL, announce his passing on Aug. 2, 2011 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 79 years. Leaving to mourn with fond memories: sister-in-law Irene Dorey; niece Joanne and family; nephew Darrell and family; as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers Seymoure and Arthur, and nephew Kalvin. Visitors were received at the Anglican Church in Capstain Island on Tuesday and Wednesday, from where the funeral service took place on Thursday Aug. 4 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Norman Cutler officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery in L'Anse au Diable. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, in L'Anse au Loup.

GENGE, Dora
Passed away peacefully at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on Aug. 12, 2011, Mrs. Dora Genge of Anchor Point, in her 85th year. She leaves to mourn with a lifetime fond and loving memories sons Abe (Jane), Stewart (Dorcas), Doug (Bertha), Montrose (Una), Emanuel (Fiona), Brane (Bill), Marvin (Louise), and Troy (Connie); daughters Buelah (Jake) Caines, and Millicent (Cliff) Moores; sister Agnes Genge, special brother Howard (Susan) Pilgrim, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law George (Renie) Genge, Margaret Sheppard, Pierce Genge, Gagfield Genge, and Joanna Sinnicks; also including 18 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Emanuel, parents Henry and Effie, father-in-law Arthur and mother-in-law Sarah, 12 biological sisters, one brother, special sister Effie, one brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, and one great grandson. Visitation was held at the St. Matthew's Anglican Church in Anchor Point from where the funeral service took place at 11 a.m. on Aug. 15, with Rev. Cannon Hubert Vallis and Layreader Tryphena Vallis officiating. Burial immediately followed the service at the St. Matthew's Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

LEE, James
It is with great sadness that the family of the late James Lee of Pinware, NL, announce his passing at Labrador South Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit in Forteau on Aug. 15, 2011 at the age of 75 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories wife Alice; children Lionel (Lucinda), Sheila (Neil), Neil (Joyce), Rosemary, Douglas, and Victoria (Lincoln); 10 grandchildren Sabrina, Pierette, Keith, Kristopher, Damien, Lana Lee, Neilson, Katie, Shannah, and Amanda; four great-grandchildren Kendra, Keagan, Kylan, and Kaine, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his grandson Kent, parents John and Winnie Lee. Visitors were received at Our Lady of Labrador Church on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from where the funeral service took place on Thursday, Aug. 27 at 2 p.m. with Fr. Anthony officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery in Pinware. As expressions of sympathy flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, L'Anse au Loup.

MILLER, Clarence
Passed on: August 2nd, 2011
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clarence Miller of Port Saunders, announce his passing on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders, at the age of 66 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Joan; children Lorne (Lois), Stony Plain, Alberta, Kay (Jim) Everden, and Perry (Dwayne) of Grand Prairie, Alberta; grandchildren Niki, Leanne, Lorne (Robyn), and Jamie; sister Marie, Grand Bank; niece Viola; nephew Kevin (Cindy) Miller and a circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Oliver and Pearl, brother Leonard, and brother-in-law Noah. The family received friends at Good Tidings Pentecostal Church in Port Saunders on Sunday, from where the funeral service took place on Monday, Aug. 8 at 2 p.m. with Pastor George Coles officiating. Interment followed at Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the Kids Club at Good Tidings Church. MITCHELMORE, Amy
Passed away peacefully at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Aug. 20, 2011, Mrs. Amy Mitchelmore of Green Island Cove, NL, in her 82nd year. She leaves to mourn with a lifetime of fond and loving memories husband Stedman Mitchelmore; children Mona (Baxter), Marie (Terrance), Clifford (Betty), Leona (Gary), Vina, Patsy, Joyce (Roland), and Ramsey (Angela); grandchildren Stephanie (Bruno), Bonnie (John), Jackie (Pierre), Sonny (Andrea), Lonny, Heidi (Fred), Ashley, Tyler, Brandon, Kendra, Kyle, Amanda, Reiley, and Adam; great-grandchildren Charlotte, Kayla, Jagger, Jade, Dustin, Dana, Ethan, Eric, Nina, Maddison, Carter, and Clinton; great-great-grandchildren Jaila, Seirra, Breanna, and Corvin; and brother Thomas Coates. She was predeceased by her parents Philip and Susanne Coates, brothers and sisters William, John, Alice, Bessie, Edgar, Richard, Reginald, Philip, and Rita. Visitation was held at the St. Andrews Anglican Church in Lower Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23, with Rev. Marlene Harvey and lay reader Maxine Hughes officiating. Burial followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Green Island Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

PATEY, Sr., Melvin
Passed away peacefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on Aug. 13, 2011, Mr. Melvin Patey Sr. of St. Anthony, in his 84th year. He leaves to mourn with a lifetime of fond and loving memories, wife Jessie; son Piercey (Shirley); granddaughters Dale and Cynthia; four great-grandchildren Danielle, Gregory, Melanie and Evan; sister Mabel Pilgrim; stepbrothers Baxter (Elva) Pilgrim, and Hedley (Elizabeth) Pilgrim; stepsisters Muriel (Cyril) Peyton, Ivy Bussey, and Beryl (Melvin) Pilgrim; and brother-in-law Ralph Pilgrim as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation took place at Kerry M. Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service, which took place from the Salvation Army Church in St. Anthony, at 2 p.m. on Aug. 16, with Majors Dinzel and Kathleen Baggs and Pastor Jeff Bessey officiating. Burial followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery in St. Anthony. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

PENNEY, Amy
Passed on: August 6th, 2011
Passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Complex on Aug. 6, in the presence of her loving family, Amy Penney. She was predeceased by her parents Henry and Rose Parrill of St. Anthony, three brothers Norman, Roland and George Parrill, and two sisters Mamie and Rita. Leaving to mourn her husband Pearce; sons Wayne, David (Jan) and Donald (Kay); daughter Renee; grandchildren Jessie (Nathan), Jason, Justin, Leslie (Jarrod) and Sabrina; great- grandchildren Jorja and Alice; sisters Josie (Gord) Diamond, Goldie (Aubrey) McBurnie, and May (Grant) Keefe; brother Andrew (Nora) Parrill; sisters-in-law Prescilla and Flossie Parrill, also many other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Dr. J Farrell and staff at Health Sciences Complex and to the caring, compassionate staff at the Masonic Park Nursing Home. Visitation took place at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mt. Pearl, on Monday, Aug. 8. and on Tuesday, Aug. 9. The service took place at Topsail United Church on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow. RICHARDS, Frederick James
Passed away peacefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on Aug. 28, 2011, Mr. Frederick James Richards of St. Carols, NL, in his 85th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories sons Whyman (Ruby), and Dale (Melissa); daughters Edna (Edgar), Linda (Doug), Pearl (Ralph), Sybil (Baxter), June (Jim), Beverly (Dean), and Daphne (Kevin); 27 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, in addition to many other family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth, son Derrick, daughter Joan and three grandchildren. Visitation was held at St. Paul's Anglican Church from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31 with Rev. Diane Smith officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

SMITH, Fay (Nee Rumbolt)
Passed peacefully away on Aug. 17, 2011 at St. Patrick's Mercy Home, St. John's, Fay Smith (nee Rumbolt) from Mary's Harbour, NL. She is predeceased by her husband Benjamin, son Bernard, grandson Cleon, brothers Raymond, Chesley, Ross, Harvey, Bernard and Joseph, sisters Ruby, Amelia and Violet. Leaving to mourn her passing are her sons Jordon (Clara), Steadman (Donna), and Harrison (Betty); daughters Greta (Vincent), Eleanor (Gene), Marie (Lewis), and Millicent (Gerry); 17 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; brothers Ford (Emma), Claude (Jean), and Reginald (Isi); sisters Donna (Martin), Margaret, and Mary (Freeman); sisters-in-law Clara, Olive, Evelyn, and Joan and a large circle of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Donations in her memory may be made in support of Mary's Harbour Cemetery.

SMITH, Roland P.
Passed on: August 8th, 2011
Passed peacefully away on Monday, Aug. 8, 2011 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders, Roland Smith in his 85th year. Leaving to mourn his wife Cecilia and her family Marie (Bill) Gatehouse, Ottawa, Ontario; Walter (Greta) and families, Hawkes Bay; sister-in-law Phylis Smith, Amherst, Nova Scotia; nephew Robert, neice Heather and families; and a large circle of other relatives and friends, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. He was predeceased by his parents Roland and Jennie Smith, brothers Lorne and Vincent, and sister Doreen DeForest. Cremation took place at Humber Valley Crematorium Pasadena, on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011. Burial to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to Mental Health Society. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.
