St. Anthony

Passed peacefully away on August 2, 2009 at the age of 86. He was pedeceased by his wife Winnie; sister Jean Guest; brothers Bob, Raymond and George; and parents John and Bertha. Leaving to mourn are his sons Bob, Shannon (Trudy), and Dean (Meline); daughter Sherry. Grandchildren Robin (Miciam), Frank (Tami), Johnny, Carrie, Shannon Jr., Frankie, Kristian, Leon Jr. And Travis. Great-grandchildren Sebastian and Takara; Brothers Reginald (Joan), Norman; Sister Jessie Michelen, Dorothy Michelen and Catherine Calloway; as well as many other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave, on Wednesday from 2-4p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 2 p.m. from Barrett's Chapel, 73 Commonwealth Ave with interment to follow at the Anglian Cemetery, Kenmount Road. ANDERSON, William Job
L'Anse aux Meadows

Passed away at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on Aug. 3, 2009 Job Anderson of L'anse aux Meadows, age 87 years. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Helen; daughter Delena (Grayton); grandson Scott (Christine); brothers Alfred (Pearl), Maxwell (Gladys), Gower (Dorothy) and Dorman (Rose). Visitation was held at Central United Church from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6 with Rev. Pendleton officiating. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery in L'Anse aux Meadows. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton. Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

NOEL, Justin
L'Anse au Loup

It is with great sadness the family of the late Justin Noel announce his passing at Forteau on Aug. 6, 2009 at the age of 18 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories Mom (Debbie Normore); stepfather Morley and stepbrother Damien; grandparents Herbert and Florence Freake, George and Laura Noel, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Ralph. Visitation took place at the Gospel Hall in L'Anse au Loup on Sunday from where the funeral service was held on Monday Aug. 10, at 2 p.m. with Mr. Stephen Joyce and Mr. Francis Barney officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery in L'Anse au Loup. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. HANCOCK, MARGARET
Forteau

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Margaret Hancock announce her passing at Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Aug. 7, 2009 at the age of 84 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories her children Edward (Dale), Gladys Thomas (Sam-deceased), Donald (Jocelyn), Cynthia Hancock (Russell), Robert (Sarah), Richmond (Donna), Bette Wellman (Ward); 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Robert and grandson Ian Wellman. Visitors were received at the United Church in Forteau on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thusday from where the funeral took place on Friday, Aug. 11 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dean Sellers officiating. Interment followed in the Church Cemetary in Forteau. As expressions of sympathy flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, L'Anse au Loup.

BEAUDOIN, ROBERT STUART
Carcross, Yukon

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert Beaudoin (Mar. 14, 1958 - Aug. 8 2009) announce his passing on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009 in Carcross, Yukon at the age of 51 years. Leaving to mourn his wife Venise; mother Johanna; sisters Pauline (Peter), Sandra and Maralies (Leonard); brothers Eddie (Patricia), Clyde, Dave (Beverly) Aimee (Linda) and a large circle of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Edmund. The family received friends at St. Margaret of Scotland Church in Reef's Harbour on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from where the funeral took place on Monday, Aug. 17 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Passed away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on Aug. 8, 2009, Mamie Carroll, age 59 years. Left to mourn husband Herbert Francis; daughters Darlene (Sandy) and Deanna (David); grandsons Jayden and Dustin; sister Annie (Cecil); brother Roland (Margie); sister-in-law Girty (Jim); brother-in-law Max (Barbara), mother-in-law Jane (like her twin sister); nieces and nephews Nadine (Hank), Natalie (Randy), Nancy (Steven), Billy, Travis (Krysta), Tyrone (Sally), Connie (Rodney), Roland (Mathilda), Ricky, Rhonda (Troy), Tonya and Michael; great nieces and nephews Dillon, Brooke, Caden, Calleigh, Cassie, Kayla, Roland, Skylar (Jackie), Kristy and Aadyn. Visitation was held in the family's home and the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009 from the United Church in Cook's Habour with Rev. McGonigle officiating. CLARK, Sheldon
Pinsent's Arm

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sheldon Clark announce his passing at St. Lewis on Aug. 9, 2009 at the age of 33 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories parents Frank and Matilda Martin; sister Cheryl Martin (Chad Clark); three nephews Jordan, Jayden and Jonah; grandparents Cyril and Daisy Clark, as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents Benjamin and Drucella Martin. Visitation took place at the Pentecostal Church on Thursday, August 13 from where the funeral services took place on Friday, Aug. 14 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Parsons officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery in Charlottletown. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Passed away at the White Bay Central Health Centre on Aug. 15, 2009 Leander Hancock of Ontario, formerly of Roddickton, age 81 years. Leaving to mourn wife Evangeline Alice, Kitchener Ontario; sons Clarence (Katie) Hancock, Kitchener, Guy Hancock, St. John's, Graham (Nellie) Hancock, Bide Arm, Junior (Carol) Hancock, Waterloo; daughters Gaye (Rifford) Fillier, Roddickton, Nina (Rick) Tallman, Dundas, Ruby (Graham) Reid, Kitchener, and Meryl (Bernard) Carroll, Roddickton; sister Delphine (Allan) Richards, St. Anthony; 29 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, plus a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation was held at the Apostolic Faith Church in Roddickton, from where the funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19 with Rev. Cassell officiating. PATEY, GRACE
St. Anthony

Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Aug. 18, 2009, Grace Patey, age 92 years. Left with fond and loving memories her son Calvin (Eleanor Ropson); granddaughters Myrna (Robert Young) and Allison; great-granddaughter Robyn; sister Gladys (Wilfred); brother George (Mary); and her sisters-in-law Jessie and Amelia. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur, son Raymond, daughter Peggy Joan, sister Violet (Robert Loder), and brothers Frederick (Jessie) and Ernest (Amelia). Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20 at the United Church in St. Anthony, with Rev. McGonigle officiating. BENNETT, Sidney

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sidney Bennett (April 5, 1934 - Aug. 20, 2009) announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009 in his 75th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Marie (nee Ellsworth); his daughters Trudy (Tony Caines) of Portland Creek, Norma (Dan Hynes) of Cow Head, Marian (Gabrial Payne) of Swan Hills, Alberta; his sons Lee (Lewena) and Alvin (Trena) both of St. Paul's; his grandchildren Derick, Dana, Scott (Angeline), Tyler, Gavin (Erin), Samatha, Katherine, Amber-Leah, Andre, Amy-Lee, Dylan, Shania and Sky; his three great-grandchildren Kevin, Hannah, and Cynthia; his three sisters Venie Pittman, of St. Paul's, Doylie Caines of Three Mile Rock, and Emma Bishop of Ontario. Sidney was predeceased by his parents John and Lydia Bennett, his sister Elsie, his brothers Clyde and Lorne, his brothers-in-law Campbell, Fred, Norman and Elias, his sister-in-law Mary and his mother and father-in-law Evelyn and Jack Ellsworth. He also leaves to mourn a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and his extended family. The family welcomed family and friends at his residence in St. Paul's on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 21, and 22 from where the funeral service took place on Sunday, Aug. 23 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jean Brenton-Hickman officiating. The burial followed at the Anglican Church Cemetery in St. Paul's. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of one's choice in Sidney's memory, would be gratefully appreciated by the family. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Marion McGrath Fitzpatrick, formally of Conche, announces her sudden passing on Aug. 21, 2009 at the age of 93 years. She leaves to mourn Bridget (Hardy Miles), Lewisporte, Nellie, Conche, Mark (Sue), Sudbury, Ontario, Mary (Roy Gillard), Twillingate and Mike (Sue), Grande Prairie, Alberta; sister Margaret Hunt of Holyrood, sisters-in-law Mildred McGrath, Conche and Hazel McGrath, St. John's and brother-in-law Harry Lewis, Englee. Marion also had nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by husband James, son Peter, parents, three brothers, and two sisters. Her funeral took place on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2009 at Church of the Holy Family officiated by Fr. Barker under services of Woolfrey's Funeral Home in Lewisporte.

FENNEMORE, JOHN NEWELL
St. Anthony

On Aug. 26, 2009, after a short battle with cancer, John Newell Fennemore, surrounded by his family, peacefully passed away. He leaves to mourn wife Harriet; children Baxter (Gloria), John and Janis (Tom); grandchildren Vanessa, Melissa, Shannon and Stephen and great-grandchildren Aiden and Leah. He also leaves to mourn his step-children Alvina (Wade), Marian (Clay), Vanessa (Justin), Denise (Chris), Noreen (Sean) and nine step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild, as well as a circle of other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his first wife Edna, parents William and Rhoda and brothers William, Daniel and Benjamin (Lee). Visitation took place at Kerry M. Funeral Home in St. Anthony. The funeral service was held at St. Anthony United Church on Friday, Aug. 28 at 2 p.m. with Rev. John McGonigle officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Grace Hillier on Aug 28, 2009. Leaving to mourn her son Tony; granddaughters Sarah and Kathryn; daughter-in-law Pat; sisters Joyce Bartlett, Jean Mackenzie, Madge Boyd and Ruth Noseworthy (Les); brother Cyril Goudie (Betty); sisters-in-law Blanche Coates and Zilda Hillier; nieces Donna (Bruce), and Jean (Stedman); nephew Murray (Madonna), also a large number of other relatives and friends. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of George Dredge Sr. on Aug. 29, 2009. Leaving to mourn his wife Virginia; children George Jr. (Dorothy), Livina (Harvey), Glen (Dorothy), Joyce (Eric), and Todd (Misty); grandchildren Jordan (Jessica), Kristy, David, (Samantha), Gina (Shane), Zachary, Mariea, Brendan, Brooke and Shay; great-grandchildren Jase and Jenna; brothers and sisters Blanche, Wallace (Marion), Vivian (Jake), Donald (Ruby), and Jocelyn (Walter). It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Leslie McLean on Aug.30, 2009. Leaving to mourn his wife Nora; children Pauline (Wilga) and Dorothy (Tony); grandchildren Charmaine (Herbert), Blaise (Delia) and Brandon; great-grandchildren Skylar Leslie, Megan Danielle, Colton Bruce and Makala Charmaine; brothers Rendell (Caroline), and Ross (Barbara) and families. He was predeceased by his mother Susanna, father Christopher, sister Maggie, and brother Garry, in-laws Absalom and Mary Noseworthy and brother-in-law Roland Noseworthy. The funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday Sept. 2 at St. Andrews Church in Lower Cove. Interment followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Green Island Cove.
