Leaving to mourn daughters Elizabeth (Seward), Margaret (James) and Phyllis (Ronald); sons Douglas (Linda) and Bruce (Mendola); 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband Douglas (2002) and daughter Leah (1948). Visitation was held at the St. Mary's Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 4 with Rev. Harrison Heidel officiating. James Gordon McDonald, born June 13, 1945, passed away August 7, 2006. He was a well known prospector in mining fields for over 35 years, travelling from the West Coast to the East Coast. He leaves behind his mother, a brother and sister, in Chilliwack, brother and family in Cloverdale, nephew in Washington, sister and family in California, nephew in C.A.F. in Winnipeg, and many friends in Northern Saskatchewan. Private cremation. Possible memorial to follow at a later date.

He was predeceased by his wife Rowena, children Joseph, Clyde, Percy, Lloyd, Sherry, Donna, Blanche and grandson Richard, brothers Romeo, Felix, Edward, Stanley and Lawrence, sisters Gertrude, Blanche and Julie. The family received friends at Fillatre’s funeral Home, Port au Choix on Sunday and Monday. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, Aug, 29 at 2 p.m. at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Roger officiating. Interment followed in the Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted.
