GIBBONS, ANNIE
Pigeon Cove

Passed away on Aug. 2, 2006 at the John M. Gray Centre, age 84 years. Leaving to mourn daughters Elizabeth (Seward), Margaret (James) and Phyllis (Ronald); sons Douglas (Linda) and Bruce (Mendola); 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband Douglas (2002) and daughter Leah (1948). Visitation was held at the St. Mary's Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 4 with Rev. Harrison Heidel officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lavinia Caines Fillatre, funeral director.

MARIE IDA RICE (CULL)
Goose Cove

Passed away on Aug. 2, 2006 age 69 years. Leaving with a lifetime of memories husband Alfred; children Pearl (Primus), Ralph (Matilda) and Calvin; grandchildren Darlene (Jake), Kelly (Brian), Ashley (Jordan) and James; great-grandchild Brandon; sister Hazel (Freeman) Parsons; nieces and nephews Phyllis (Ivan) Simms, Gail Parsons (Milton), Wallcae Parsons (Kim) and penney Parsons (Brian); special friends Juanita Powell, Lottie King, Louise Taylor and Joyce Ward and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation was held at K.M. Filaltre Funeral Home, St. Anthony. The funeral service was held 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5 at the Anglican Church in St. Anthony with Rev. Canon Jean Brenton-Hickman officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

JAMES GORDON MCDONALD
Chilliwack, BC
James Gordon McDonald
, born June 13, 1945, passed away August 7, 2006. He was a well known prospector in mining fields for over 35 years, travelling from the West Coast to the East Coast. He leaves behind his mother, a brother and sister, in Chilliwack, brother and family in Cloverdale, nephew in Washington, sister and family in California, nephew in C.A.F. in Winnipeg, and many friends in Northern Saskatchewan. Private cremation. Possible memorial to follow at a later date.

HILDEGARDE NOSEWORTHY
Green Island Brook

Passed away at the John M. Gray Centre on August 10, 2006, age 81 years. Left with fond memories daughters Myrtel and Violet (Wilson); sons Albert (Barbara) and Eli (Dianne); eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a large number of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by husband Leander. Visitation was held at St. Andrews Church, Lower Cove, from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday Aug. 12 with Rev. Diane Smith officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

POLLARD, JAMES EDWARD
Main Brook

Passed away at the Health Science Centre in St. John’s on August 13, 2006, age 59 years. Left to mourn his wife Pamela; sons Myron Pollard, James Glynn and Anthony Lane; daughters Kathy Pollard, Keitha Hurtubise, Tracey Moffat and Sandra Lane; 12 grandchildren; five brothers; five sisters and a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Roy and Cinderella Pollard and his sister Annie. Visitation was held at the Pentecostal Church in Main Brook from where the funeral service took place on Thursday, August 17 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Murrey Langdon officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

RANDELL, ROLAND GEORGE
Englee

Passed away on August 16, 2006, age 86 years. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Edith, children Nita (Raymond) Fillier and Regina (Wilfred) Hopkins, Englee, Patsy (Jack) Fillier, Lewisporte, Donald (Ruby) Randell, Corner Brook, George (Joan) Randell, Roddickton, Rosie (Merrick) Snow, Kings Point, Olive (Joe) Poole, Frances Meehan, David (Yvonne) Randell and Frank (Darlene) Randell, Goulds, Capt’s Randy (Lisa) Randell, Ontario; 26 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother Frederick Randell and sister Mela Janes, Kings Point. Visitation was held at the Salvation Army Church in Englee from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 19 with Capt’s Anthony and Beverley Dart-Stokes officiating. Internment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

HUNT, ELLEN A.
Conche

Passed peacefully away, surrounded with the love of her family in Elliot Lake, Ontario on Aug. 18, 2006, Ellen Hunt of Conche, age 83 years. Leaving to mourn sons Gary (Darlene), Jerome (Agnes), Terry (Dale) and Roy (Paul); daughters Maureen (Ken), Phyllis (Don), Betty (Gerard), Judy (Terry), Deon and Damian and 12 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Fred, brothers Leonard and John Gilbert and sister Edna. Visitation took place at Sacred Heart Church in Conche from where the funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 23 with Fr. Munchena officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Florence Coombs announces her passing on Friday, Aug. 25, 2006 at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 91 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children Albert (Olga), and Nelson (Georgina) of Shoal Cove West, Barbara (Henry) Chambers, Roland (Myrtle) Combs, Angus (Viola) Combs Gould of Bear cove, Marie (Rex) Hodder of Davidsville, Dorcas (Steward) Genge of Anchor Point, Bertha (David) Linday of Keswick, Ontario, Mona Hughes of New Ferolle, Ace (Marion) Coombs and Lucy Coombs (Hubert Baines) of Shoal Cove West; son-in-law Chesley Genge of Anchor Point, sisters Agnes Genge and Dora Genge of Anchor Point; 32 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Roland Coombs, son-in-law Lambert Hughes, and parents Henry and Effie Blanche Genge of Anchor Point. Visitation took place at St. Margaret of Scotland Church on Sunday from where the funeral service was held on Monday, Aug. 28 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Harris officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, Bear Cove/Port au Choix.

GOULD, MICHAEL JOSEPH
Port au Choix

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Michael Gould announces his passing on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 92 years. He leaves to mourn his children Clan (MaryAnn) of Port Saunders, Richard (Freda) of Stephenville, Rendell, Martin (Margaret), Wade, Craig, Bradley (Renee), Vincent (Emily), Barbara and Juanita (Rex) Boyd, all residing at Port au Choix, Delphina Curtis of Corner Brook and Margaret Pitcher of Ontario; 27 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and sister Yvonne Ploughman of Port au Choix. He was predeceased by his wife Rowena, children Joseph, Clyde, Percy, Lloyd, Sherry, Donna, Blanche and grandson Richard, brothers Romeo, Felix, Edward, Stanley and Lawrence, sisters Gertrude, Blanche and Julie. The family received friends at Fillatre’s funeral Home, Port au Choix on Sunday and Monday. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, Aug, 29 at 2 p.m. at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Roger officiating. Interment followed in the Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix.

HUGHES, LAMBERT
New Ferolle

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lambert Hughes announces his passing on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006 at his family residence at the age of 55 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Mona; sons Brad (Jackie) and Boris (Kathy); grandchildren Brady and Abby; brothers Adelor (Agnes), Lomen (Lorie) and Leman (Christine), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Henry and Susan and sister Isabella. The family received friends at St. Margaret of Scotland Church in Reef’s Harbour on Monday and Tuesday from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug, 30 with Fr. Rogers officiating. Interment followed in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in New Ferolle. As expressions of sympathy flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix/Bear Cove.
