BROWN, Allan
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Allan Brown of Port Saunders, NL, announce his passing on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at his family residence in Port Saunders at the age of 58 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Leah; daughter Kristen (Mike), Calgary; sons Kyle (Sara), Toronto, and Colin, France; stepdaughters Amanda (Clayton), Port au Choix, and Stephanie (Bryan), Fort McMurray; stepson Jonathan (Delphine), Port Saunders; step-grandchildren Steve, Matthew and Melissa; brothers Jack (Barbara), Hamilton, Ontario, Ken (Aileen), Northern British Columbia and Colin (Dorain), Ottawa; as well as a circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Jack and Mary Brown. Cremation took place on Saturday, April 20 at Humber Valley Crematorium. A private family service will take place at Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix. CAINES, Alonzo A.
Passed peacefully away at Marion Hospice, Vancouver, British Columbia, in the company of loved ones, Mr. Alonzo A. Caines (June 22, 1952 - April 24, 2013). He is predeceased by his parents Bernadette and Gerald Caines of Bartlett's Harbour. Leaving to mourn his heartbroken family of four sisters, Mable (Gordon Byrne) of New Ferolle, Florence (Ivan Taylor) of Ottawa, Ontario, Neila (Brian Cochrane) of St. John's, and Sheena (Wayne Muggeridge) of Mount Pearl; three brothers Gary (Beulah) of Bartlett's Harbour, Leon (Valerie) of Bartlett's Harbour, and Guy (Brenda) of St. John's, 17 adoring nieces and nephews, a large extended family and an amazing circle of friends all across the country. The family would like to thank Marion Hospice, St. Paul's Hospital, and The Vancouver Cancer Clinic, for their care and compassion during Lon's illness. A special thanks to an exceptional friend Mark Janssen who was Lon's caregiver during his courageous battle with cancer, allowing him to live out his final days in the city he loved. Cremation has taken place. Condolences may be left at www.kearneyfs.com. A family gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate Lon's life.
He was an educator, an avid traveller, an admirer of nature's beauty, and a kind and generous spirit. We will forever hold him in our hearts.

KENNEDY, Leo
Passed peacefully away after a long illness, on April 22, 2013 at the age of 76, Leo Kennedy in White Rock, British Columbia. Leaving to mourn his wife Annie (nee House); children Leo (Tina), Keith, Dawn, and Kimball (Michelle); grandchildren, brothers and sisters Clarice (Sonny), Lynn, Annette (Bill), Peter Jr. (Mary), Rosemary (Clifford), Ann, Dorothy, Margaret (Aimee), Kevin (Julie) and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends in Port Saunders, Newfoundland. He is predeceased by daughter Gertrude, wife Joan, brother Clifford, sister Martha and parents Peter and Eva.
Annie wishes to thank all the family and friends for their love and support during Leo's illness. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

LAVERS, Norbert Sherlock
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Norbert Sherlock Lavers of Port Saunders, NL, announce his passing on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 70 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Laverne; daughters Paulette (Chris), and Sherri-Lee (Trent), Port Saunders; son Michael (Karla), Corner Brook; grandsons Brock and Adam; sisters Zeta (Brian), Cynthia (Shawn), Odella, Leona, Rachel (Spencer) and Doreen (Gordon); brothers Pius (Nora), Ed (Phyllis), Mack (Mildred), Adelor (Nita), Herb and Alfred (Sue); sisters-in-law Hilda and Meta; brother-in-law Lorraine (Kay); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Macvoy and Cora Jane Lavers, sisters Debbie, Selma and Helen, and mother-in-law Clara Lavers. Visitation took place at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Port Saunders on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from where the funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 24 at 2 p.m. with cremation to follow at Humber Valley Crematorium. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made by visiting our website at www.fillatre.ca

LODER, Ruby M. Budden
Passed peacefully away surrounded by family at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on April 17, 2013, Mrs. Ruby Budden Loder of Roddickton, NL, in her 79th year. She leaves behind with loving memories her daughters Joyce (Lewis), Marie (Lemuel), Margaret (Isaac), Joan (Garland), Eileen (Kirk), Brenda (Dave), and Shawna (Jamie); sons Wilson (Marjorie), Roger (Lisa), Alonzo (Trudy), and Bobby (Janet); 33 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Harvey and Beryl Roberts, her first husband Leander, second husband Gordon Loder, her son Lloyd and daughter-in-law Doris, three brothers Gilbert, Maxwell, and Lester. Visitation took place at the Calvary Pentecostal Temple from where the funeral service followed at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 21 with Pastor G. B. Pinksen officiating. Burial followed the service in the Pentecostal Cemetery in Roddickton. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

PARRILL, Gervin
Passed away into peace at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on April 17, 2013 after a lengthy struggle, Mr. Gervin Parrill of Pines Cove, NL, in his 45th year. Gervin leaves behind with loving memories his parents Rita and Ivan Parrill; brothers Derek (Linda), and Jock (Wendy); sisters Judy (Harvey) and Ruby (Donald) and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and a wide circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his niece Peggy Parrill. Visitation took place at St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Lower Cove from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Friday, April, 19 with Rev. Marlene Harvey and layperson Maxine Hughes officiating. Burial followed the service in the Anglican Cemetery in Pines Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

RICE, Alfred Charles
Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on April 9, 2013, Mr. Alfred Rice of Goose Cove, NL, in his 83rd year. He leaves to mourn with a lifetime of fond and loving memories his children Pearl (Primus), Ralph, and Calvin (Pat); grandchildren Darlene (Jake), Kelly (Brian), Ashley (Jordan), James; great-grandchildren Brandon, Jacob, Conall, and Seamus; sister-in-law Hazel Parsons and family; great niece and special caregiver Melissa Ricks (Ross and family); as well as a wide circle of nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Marie and parents John and Elizabeth. Visitation took place at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. at St. Mary's Anglican Church on Friday, April 12 with Rev. Fr. Paul Finlay officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

RUSSELL, Cyril James
Passed peacefully away into eternal sleep at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on April 18, 2013, Mr. Cyril Russell of William's Harbour, NL, in his 85th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memoires brothers Clifford Russell (Charlotte), Graham Russell (Patricia), William Larkham (Nellie), Carl Larkham (Janet), Harold Larkham (Velma), and Paul Larkham (Martha); sisters Mildred Campbell, and Bella Saunders (Henry), as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Dorcas Larkham, stepfather Charles Larkham, brother-in-law Stanley Campbell, brother Hayward Larkham, and sister Bernice Larkham. Visitation took place at St. Andrew's Apostle Anglican Church in Port Hope Simpson from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 21 with Rev. Gail Coley MacDonald officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Port Hope Simpson. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
