APPLIN, Emily
Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Centre on April 27, 2012, Mrs. Emily Applin of Savage Cove, NL, in her 72nd year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter Patsy (Dean) Coles; sons Sam (Donna) Applin, and Mervin (Lois) Applin; grandchildren Samantha (Gorvin) Williams, Dwayne (Salome) Coles, Billi and Rorey Applin, Zack, Nick and Jeff Applin; great-grandchildren Leanne and Trav Williams, Brooke and Madison Coles; brother Stedman (Vivian) Coombs; sisters Dorcas Baines, Effie Coombs, and Dulcie (Paul) Duggan; in-laws Harrison White, Naomi Coombs, Hazel Way, Kitty Applin, Harvey and Lorraine Applin, Philip and Rosie Applin, Kirby and Pat Applin and many other relatives and a large circle of friends. She was predeceased by husband Eric Applin, mother Leah (White) Coombs, father John Coombs, sister Bernadette White, brothers Gerald Coombs, Leander Coombs, and Steward Coombs. Visitation was held at St. Mark's Anglican Church in Savage Cove from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 30 with Rev. B. Rowlands officiating. Burial followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Savage Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

BUCKLE, Wilhelmina
Forteau
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mina Buckle announce her passing at the Labrador South Health Centre Long Term Care Unit in Forteau on April 8, 2012 at the age of 90 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories daughter Beatrice Cooney (Brian); grandchildren Wayne Buckle, Rosalie Belben, Kayla Lethbridge (Perry), and Wendy Belben; son-in-law Nelson Belben; special friends Pearl Buckle, Victor and Ethel Stone, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband George and daughter Hilda. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Forteau on Sunday and Monday from where the funeral service took place Tuesday, April 10, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Norman Cutler officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery in Forteau. As expressions of sympathy flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home in L'Anse au Loup.

BUSHEY, Effie Julia
Passed peacefully away at the White Bay Central Health Centre on April 26, 2012, Mrs. Effie Julia Bushey of Roddickton, NL, in her 84th year. She leaves to mourn with a lifetime of fond and loving memories her daughters Marie (Oliver) Reid, Roddickton, Dorothy (David) Cassell, Roddickton, Wanetta (Eddie) Reid, Roddickton, and Sheila (Graham) Adams, Roddickton; son Wilson (Audrey) Bushey, Roddickton; sisters Beatrice Wilcox, Roddickton, Marie Hancock, Roddickton, and Isabella Hancock, Roddickton; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Jesse, sisters Elsie, Pearl, and Gertrude, brothers Gilbert and Gordon. Visitation took place at the Apostolic Faith Church in Englee from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 29 with Rev. Rene S. Cassell officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

CHUBBS, Leslie
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leslie Chubbs of L'Anse au Clair, NL, announce his passing on April 19, 2012 at the Palliative Care Unit in Forteau at the age of 81 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories wife Muriel; children Dulcie Carpenter (Lanny), Sheila, Barry (Claudette), Rodney (Mary), Kevin (Yvonne) and Everett (Mary); 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters Mabel, and Rita; brothers Russell and Clifford, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by parents Alpheaus and Mary Chubbs, son Leslie Jr. (Rowena), brothers Amos, Cecil, Bill and Dave. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in L'Anse au Clair on Thursday and Friday from where the funeral service took place Saturday, April 21, at 4 p.m. with Rev. Norman Cutler officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery in L'Anse au Clair. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, in L'Anse au Loup.

COLBOURNE, Gordon Arthur
Passed away peacefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on April 23, 2012, Mr. Gordon Colbourne of St. Anthony, NL, in his 84th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories daughter Daphne (Alan) O'Reilly; son Richard (Gaye Green); granddaughter Heather O'Reilly; grandsons Mark O'Reilly and Neil Colbourne; sister Ivy Patey Lewis, and a large number of loved nieces and nephews and many good friends. He was predeceased by his wife Eliza Colbourne, parents, brothers Jim Patey, and Garland Colbourne, and sister Hazel Hoyles. Visitation was held at the funeral home followed by the funeral service which was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 26 with Rev. Stephanie McClellan officiating. Burial followed at Fishing Point Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

HOUSE, Rendell Sherman
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rendell S. House of Port Saunders, NL, announce his passing on Monday, April 16, 2012 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre, Port Saunders at the age of 78 years. He Leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Meta; children Darren (Tammy), George (Delores) and Kelley (Martin); grandchildren Monty House, Megan House, Kaitlyn House and Darris Coombs; great-grandchildren Brie House, Ben House and Cole Coombs; brother Donald (Gladys) Pike; sister Betty (Dave) Pittman; sisters-in-law Hilda House and Louise Crane; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Seth and Elizabeth House, brothers Reginald House and Harvey Crane. Visitation was held at St. John the Devine Anglican Church in Port Saunders on Wednesday and Thursday from where the funeral service took place on Friday, April 20 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Paulette Bugden officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix. O'KEEFE, George Joseph
It is with great sadness that the family of the late George O'Keefe of Port au Choix, NL, announce his passing on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's at the age of 75 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories children Valerie (Philip) Hoskins, St. Albans, Sandra (Ivan) Burt, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Jack Cornick (Iris), Alberta, Alma (Cameron) House, Port Saunders, Claude (Tina) Cornick, Holyrood, Gerard (Gael), Halifax, Floyd (Jeanette) and Stanley (Kim), Port au Choix; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers Ralph (Bessie) O'Keefe, Donald (Joyce) O'Keefe, Gregory (Patricia) O'Keefe, and David (Sharon) O'Keefe, Port au Choix; sisters Phyllis (Samuel) Spence, Joyce (Jim) Rose, Port au Choix, and Dinah (Loman) Rumbolt, Ontario; and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Laura and son Ronald, parents Ralph and Alma O'Keefe and brother, Barry. Visitation took place at Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix on Saturday and Sunday. The funeral service took place on Monday, April 16 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, with Fr. Lee Lainey officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove. POLLARD, Maude
Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Complex, on April 8, 2012, Maude Pollard at the age of 84 years. She is predeceased by her husband Wesley, her parents David John and Janet Randell, brothers Harold, Adam, and Pleman, sisters Clara and Effie, granddaughter Kimberely. Leaving to mourn her children Doris Penney (Ray), Daphne Bursey (David), Guy Pollard (Reta), Alonzo Pollard (Nancy), Maxine Parsons (Graham), David Pollard (Cathy) and Mona Gillard; 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; brother and sisters Maisie Patey (Arch), Edna Randell (Andrew), Ivy Cassell (Les), Frank Randell (Patsy) and Shirley Noseworthy (Art); as well as a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at the United Church, Englee, on Wednesday after 10 a.m. The funeral service took place at the United Church, Englee on Thursday, April 12, at 2 p.m. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Englee. Passed away peacefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on April 8, 2012, Mrs. Dorothy Marie Randell of Bide Arm, NL, in her 84th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons Ralph (Tamar) Randell, Bide Arm, Matthew (Ethel) Randell, Bide Arm, Woodrow (Barbara) Randell, Red Deer, Alberta, Kevin (Linda) Randell, Bide Arm, Keith (Ida) Randell, Bide Arm, and Ross (Michelle) Randell, Roddickton; daughters Christina (Paul) Randell, Bide Arm, Barbara (James) Randell, Bide Arm, Audrey (Wilson) Bushey, Roddickton, and Olive (Booth) Reid, Kitchener, Ontario; sisters Dulcie Fillier, Englee, Deliah Bown, Hant's Harbour, and Lillian Ricketts, Catalina; 27 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, and a large circle of relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her husband Stewart Randell and son George Randell. Visitation was held at the Apostolic Faith Church in Bide Arm from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, with Pastor Vanzel Quinlan officiating. REEVES, Ada Mae
Passed away peacefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on April 9, 2012 at the age of 87 years, Mrs Ada Mae Reeves of Englee, NL. She was born June 5, 1924. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons Harold, Harrison (Doris), Alfred (Shirley), Derek (Linda), and Wilfred (Josie); daughters Nellie (Tom), Margaret (Bill), Barbara (Baxter), Josephine (Woodrow), and Ruby (Wayne); 24 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; sister Neta Decker; sisters-in-law Nellie Pilgrim, and Winnie Reeves, and a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by husband Sidney Reeves, daughter Mary (David Fillier), her parents Mary and George Packwood (Pacquet). Visitation was held at the Salvation Army church in Englee from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 13 with Majors Henry and Beatrice Bingle officiating. Interment followed at the church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

RICHARDS, Vara Marion
Passed peacefully away on April 28, 2012, at the age of 82 years Mrs. Vera Marion Richard of St. Anthony, NL. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her son Curtis (Lisa); daughters Hattie (Ronald), Donna (Lester), Eileen (Robert), Timmia (Fraser) and Verla (Morgan) of St. Anthony; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Vera is predeceased by her loving husband David of 57 years, brothers Wilfred, Victor, Eric and Pearce and sisters Eunice and Doris. Visitation took place at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony followed by the funeral service which was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, at United Church in St. Anthony with Rev. Stephanie McClellan officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

ROSE, Evelyn
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Evelyn Rose of Flowers Cove, NL, announce her passing on April 29, 2012 at the family residence in L'Anse Amour at the age of 96 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories children Marion Moores (William deceased), Rita Davis (Cecil), Allan (Jessie), Howard, Harvey (June), Evelyn Budgell (David), Mary Furey (Thomas deceased), Hazel Simms, Grenfell (Selena), Wallace (Vina), Gloria Kelly (Cyril), 42 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Rose Gould, a large circle of other family and friends, and Lettie Rose. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph John, son Tom, grandson Ashley and great-grandson Scott. Visitation took place at the Flowers Cove Gospel Hall in Flowers Cove on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from where the funeral service took place on Friday, May 4 at 2 p.m. with Mr. Wallace Buckle officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery in Flowers Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, in L'Anse au Loup.

SIMMS, Charlie Rueben
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Charlie Simms of Port Saunders, NL, announce his passing on Monday, April 16, 2012 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 62 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Virtue; daughter Germaine (Peter); daughter-in-law Colleen Simms; grandchildren Samuel and Keria; brother Earl (Christine); sisters Mary, Madeline, Eileen, Maude (Lloyd), Ivy (Russell) and Dianne (Hugie); sisters-in-law Gladys Simms, Marie Simms, Marion (Robert) Hunt, Ella (Alman) Dove, Sharron (Wade) Dolimount and Peggy (Wayne) Ball; brothers-in-law Larry Morris, Roger (Janette) Willmott and Shawn (Christina) Willmott; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Evelyn Simms, son Shannon Simms, brothers Clarence and Everett Simms and sister Mildred Morris. Friends visited Good Tidings Pentecostal Church in Port Saunders on Wednesday and Thursday. Visitation continued at Fillatre's Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Friday. The funeral service was held on Saturday, April 21 at 2 p.m. from Emmanuel Pentecostal Church in Deer Lake. Interment followed at the Interdenominational Cemetery, Wight's Road.
