COMPTON, Bessie
Passed peacefully away at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders on April 25, 2011, Mrs. Bessie Compton of Englee, NL. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Harvey; sons Eric (Leona) Compton, Birchy Bay, and Wayne (Justina) Compton, Englee; daughters Jackie (Guy) Andrews, Donna (Eugene) Hopkins, Arlene (Ralph) Talbot, Nicole (Glenn) Andrews, and Tracy Compton (Chris Breen), all of Englee; mother Annie Hopkins; brothers Willis (Mae) Hopkins, Roddickton, Percy (Ettie) Hopkins, Bide Arm, Clifford (Jean) Hopkins, Kitchener, Ontario, and Rick (Deb) Hopkins, Guelph, Ontario; sisters Beatrice House, St. John's, Ivy (Edward) Appleton, Brampton, Ontario, Patricia Hopkins, Kitchener, Ontario, Ruby (Wilson) Jenkins, Roddickton, and Yvonne (Ted) Williams, Kitchener, Ontario; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and another on the way, also a wide circle of friends. Visitation was held at the Salvation Army Church in Englee from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 29 with Major Henry Bingle officiating. Burial followed the service in the Salvation Army Cemetery in Englee. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

FILLIER, Mary Margaret

Passed Away On: 26/04/2011
Aug. 20, 1924 - April 26, 2011

Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family on April 26, 2011 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony Mrs. Mary Fillier of St. Anthony NL. Leaving to mourn her loving husband Ross of 67 years; children Audrey (Joe Patey), Donna (Stanley Simms), Linda (Rafe Patey), Gertie (Chris Chaulk); daughter-in-law Rosemary; sisters Beartice Pelley, and Christine Gillard. Also leaving to mourn 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a large circle of family and friends. she was predeceased by mother Eliza Edgar, father Robert Edgar, sons Scott and Wilbourne, daughter Bonnie Lynn, sisters Dulcie Brown, Edith Rowsell., Alma Squires, Jessie Dempsey and brother Joe Edgar, mother-in-law Lavinia Fillier and father-in-law Albert Fillier. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 30 at the Salvation Army Church with Majors Raymond and Laura Janes officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddivkton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

GENGE, Henry
Passed away peacefully at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on April 29, 2011, Mr. Henry Genge og Flowers Cove, NL, in his 85th year. Mr. Genge leaves to mourn his sisters Hazeroth Genge and Cicely King; his brother Montrose Genge (Bertha), as well as his beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Isaac John and Margaret Genge, his brother Asaph and his brother-in-law Clarence King. Visitation was held at St. Barnabas Anglican Church in Flowers Cove, from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 2 with Rev. Canon Hubert Vallis officiating. Burial followed in the St. Matthews Anglican Cemetery in Anchor Point. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland and Labrador on behalf of Henry. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

LETEMPLIER, Margaret
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Margaret Letemplier of West St. Modeste, NL, announce her passing on April 20, 2011 at the family residence at the age of 67 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories husband Jack Letemplier; children Lloyd (Laverne), Suzette Marshall (Leander), Darrill (Paula), Roxanne Marshall (Leroy), Bonita, and Allan (Judy); 10 grandchildren Bradley, Arlene, Brent, Hayley, Chantel, Derrick, Sarah, Clare, Abby, and Kole, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Lawarence and Margaret Pike. Visitors were received at the Roman Catholic Church Chapel in West St. Modeste on Thursday and Friday from where the funeral service took place on Saturday, April 23 at 1 p.m. with Fr. Hahn officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery in Pinware. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, L'Anse au Loup.

McDONALD, Joseph
Born In: Canada
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph McDonald of St. West Modeste, NL. announce his passing at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on April 4, 2011 at the age of 84 years. Leaving to mourn with fond memories are a large number of nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Susannah McDonald as well as other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Hellen McDonald, brother Henry and sister Margaret McDonald Pike. Visitors were received at the Our Lady of Labrador Church in West St. Modeste on Tuesday and Wednesday from where the funeral took place on Thursday, April 7, at 2 p.m. with Fr. Hann officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery in Pinware. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, L'Anse au Loup.

SAMSON, Hiram Lorne
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hiram Samson of Brig Bay, NL, announce his passing on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 62 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories is his wife of 44 years Bernice; his children Faye (Morley), and Lorne (Katherine); his only granddaughter Katelyn; brothers Tom (Jessie), Con, and Kevin (Ruth); sisters Barbra and Elsie (Grant), and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends. He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Bessie Samson, sister Marina, brother-in-law Wilson and sister-in-law Effie. Visitation took place at The Church of The Advent in Plum Point on Thursday and Friday from where the funeral service took place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 23 with Rev. Harold Harvey and layperson Matt Osbourn officiating. Interment followed at the cemetery in Pond Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
