CAINES, SR., Martin Joseph
Port au Choix

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Martin Caines (1928-2010) announce his passing on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at the age of 82 years. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 62 years Madeline; son Martin Jr.; daughters Genevieve (Nelson) Plowman, Port au Choix, and Julia (Max) Barbour, Pasadena; granddaughters Michelle Caines Pye, Conception Bay South, Collett Caines, Port au Choix, Nadine Barbour O'Neil, Toronto, Ontario, and Deanne Barbour, Paradise; grandsons Garcien Plowman, Hawkes Bay, Troy Plowman, Conception Bay South, Marty Caines, Steven Caines, Port au Choix, and Aaron Caines, Conception Bay South; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; brother Aloysius (Josephine) Caines; sisters Julia (Benedict) Mahar, Mercedes (Patrick) Myers, Nora (Isaac) Tatchell, and Marie Pittman; brother-in-law Lambert (Jocelyn) Kennedy; sisters-in-law Theresa Caines, Rita Kennedy and Jean Caines, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son Michael; infant son Clifford; daughter-in-law Lucy Caines, Craig Pye, parents Alice and Dominic, brothers Stanley, and Raymond and sister Leona Mahar. The family received friends at Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix on Thursday and Friday. The funeral service took place at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, April 24 at 2 p.m. with Fr. Lee Lainey officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.
