Hedderson, Vernon
Cook’s Harbour

Passed away on April 6, 2007, Vernon Hedderson, age 69 years. Leaving to mourn brother John (Ina) Hedderson; sisters Victoria (Tex) Davis, Josephine (the late Harvey) Johnson, Phoebe (Ralph) Matchim and Delina (Graydon) Anderson; son Lloyd (Charmaine); granddaughters Thea and Toni and numerous cousins and other family. He was predeceased by parents Walter and Delina Hedderson, brother Jerry Hedderson and son Leon. Visitation took place at the United Church in Cook’s Harbour from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11 with Rev. Pendleton officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

SCHULTZ - HYNES, Devin Ray
Reef’s Harbour

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Devin Schultz-Hynes (Nov. 26, 1987 - April 6, 2007) announces his sudden passing on Friday, April 6, 2007 at the age of 19 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his father Ray Hynes; mother Laura Lee Schultz; sisters Adaisha Bree Schultz and Kim Cornick; niece Alyssa Cornick; grandparents Theresa Schultz and Mervin Schultz (Jenny Legault); great-grandmother Renade; aunts Delphine (Leonard Hanson), Evelyn (Lyle Campbell), Greta (Chesley Parsons), Angeline (Maurice Kelly), Brenda Lee (Mike Kaye), Beverly (Kevin Corbett) and Hazel Hynes; uncles Charles (Joy) Hynes, Emanuel Hynes, Andrew (Marilyn) Hynes, Paul Hynes and Bradley Schultz (Melissa); cousins Zachery, Jessica, Lenny, Vance, Ron, Shauna, Darren, Lloyd, Loren, Tammy, Kim, Deanna, Mike, Sheldon, Kyia, Asa, Nadia, Terry Lynn, Kevin and Cory, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents Ida and Emanuel Hynes. The family received friends at St. Margaret of Scotland Anglican Church, Reef’s Harbour on Sunday and Monday from where the Funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 10 at 3:00 p.m. with Fr. Ambrose Hynes officiating. Interment followed at the French Cove Roman Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix. BAINES, Mason Matthew
Shoal Cove West

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mason Baines (Nov. 28, 1985 - April 6, 2007) announces his sudden passing on Friday, April 6, 2007 at the age of 21 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his mother Dale Baines; father Anthony Barney; stepfather Leon; brother Maxwell; grandparents Pricella dn Edward Barney, L’Anse au Loup, as well as a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents Leander and Lucy Baines. The family received friends from St. Margaret of Scotland Anglican Church, Reef’s Harbour on Sunday and Monday from where the Funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 10 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Tanya White officiating. Interment followed at the French Cove Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix. BROMLEY, Cornelius
Conche

Passed away on April 9, 2007, Cornelius Bromley of Conche, age 87 years. Leaving to mourn brothers John and Pad, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation took place at the Roman Catholic Church in Conche from where the funeral mass was held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 12 with Fr. Varghese officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, Funeral director.

ROBERTS, Greta
Forteau

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Greta Roberts announces her passing at the Labrador South Health Centre in Forteau on April 15, 2007 at the age of 58 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories husband Harold; children Philip Earle (April), Philip Roberts (Madonna), Deanna Swan (Tim) and Harley Roberts; nine grandchildren Kayla, Brittany, Michelle, James, Myran, Marcus, William, Sara and Nolan; sister Jesse Normore, Sarah Normore (Gordan), Winnie Barney (Alfred), Vivian Buckle (William) and Elsie Earle (Derrick); brothers Clayton Linstead (Maggie), Ewart Linstead (Sharlene), as well as a large circle of other family and friends. The family received visitors at English Point Gospel Hall on Monday and Tuesday from where the funeral service took place on Tuesday, April 17 at 2 p.m. with Mr. Albert Hull and Mr. Freddy Barney officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery at English Point. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, L’Anse au Loup.

GENGE, Susan
Anchor Point

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Susan Genge announces her passing on Sunday, April 15, 2007 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony in her 67th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband James; sons Randy and Wade (Edith) of Anchor Point; daughters Julie (Bruce) of Anchor Point, Casey (Garfield) of Savage Cove and Rona (Paul) of Vancouver, British Columbia; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a very special friend Jason; mother-in-law Minnie Genge; sisters-in-law Vivian Gaulton, Marion (Stephen), Bernice (Winston), Eleanor (Bob) and Mildred (Cyril); brothers-in-law Rufus (Sophie), Cecil (Olivia) and Ren (Bertha), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Timothy and Margaret Gaulton, brother Simeon and father-in-law Walter. Visitation took place at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church in Anchor Point Monday evening, Tuesday and Wednesday from where the Funeral service took place on Thursday, April 19 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Steven Maki officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Forward Hewlin announces his passing on Monday, April 16 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in his 79th year. He will be sadly missed by his loving and devoted wife Joan (nee Payne); daughters Marjorie Pearce, Della (Clary) Payne and Myrna (Larry) Brown; son-in-law Stephen Gallinger; grandchildren Julia (Paul) Reddy, Pam (Frank) Waines, Debbie (Chubby) Pearce, Della (Shane) Blanchard, Darren (Linda) Pearce, Anne (Kenny) Brown, Lori (Tim) Payne, Krista Payne and Jeffrey (Laura) Payne; great-grandchildren Sarah Reddy, Matt Reddy, Kristen Waines, Brittany Waines, Tyler Waines and Megan Waines; stepsisters Shirley Goosney and Ina Kennedy; sisters-in-law Marigold Hewlin, Alvina Hewlin and Margaret (Max) House; brothers-in-law Basil (Maxine) Payne and Ed Kean; special nephew Lew (Val) Hewlin, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents John and Jane Hewlin; stepmother May Hewlin, daughter Rona Gallinger, son-in-law Woodrow Pearce, sisters Dulcie and Marjorie, brothers Bert, Nicky, Steve, Billy and Harvey, great-grandson Andrew, and mother and father-in-law Albert and Lavina Payne. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Cow Head on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 20 with Rev. James Pratt and Rev. John Meade officiating. Interment followed at the family plot. By request of the family, flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to the kidney foundation. She was predeceased by her parents Tom and Ellen, brothers Patrick and Herbert and sister Laura. Visitation took place at the Roman Catholic Church in Croque on Wednesday and Thursday. PERRY, Daisy

Dec. 27, 1956 - April 20, 2007

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Daisy Perry announces her passing at Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s on Friday, April 20, 2007 at the age of 50 years. Leaving to mourn a very special young man Adam who was like a son; stepson Larry (Shelly) and Shealyn of Stephenville; stepdaughter Tracy; sisters Marina (Garland) Applin, Annie and Algie of Hawkes Bay and Hazel (Wilfred) Hughes of New Ferolle; brothers Samuel (Ethel) and Wilfred; nephew Ivan and niece Hailey, and a large circle of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Larry, parents Victor and Peremella Sinnicks, brother Guy, sisters Victoria and Rosanna, nephew Lanny, stepfather Adam Coombs, grandparents Jane, Esau and Ben. The family received friends at Holy Innocent Church, Hawkes Bay on Monday and Tuesday from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Tanya White officiating. BOYD, Raymond G.
Vineland, Ontario
(Formerly of St. Anthony)

Passed peacefully away at St. Catherine’s, Ontario after a short illness, age 85 years. He leaves to mourn wife Janet; children Rex (Juanita), Pam (Pat Maddigan), Stewart (Theresa) and Raymond (Amy); 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister Jean (Boyd Jeans); sister-in-law Audrey (Forsey Boyd), as well as a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Tom and Nellie Boyd, sister Gwen (Kad Pelley), brothers Joe (Cecelia) and Tom. He is sadly missed by family, friends and co-workers. The funeral serve was held in Vineland, Ontario with cremation to follow.

Passed away on April 23, 2007, Leonard James Brown of Cook’s Harbour, age 79 years. Leaving with a lifetime of memories wife Trixie; sons Colin (Cavell), Lloyd (Jean) and Sheldon (Jessica Hibbs); daughters Arlene (Wilson) Mugford and Elaine (Ivan) Parrill; grandchildren Melissa, Monica, Melody, Kristin, Kelly, Karla, Chelsea, Christopher, Danielle, Nikita and Kenny; great-grandchildren Brady Parrill and Zachary Brown; brothers Edward and Henry; sisters Moram Diamond, Rita Pynn and two very special and longtime friends Warren and Faye Campbell of Cook’s Harbour. Visitation took place at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church in Cook’s Harbour from where the Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on April 26 with Rev. Canon Jean Brenton-Hickman officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.
