BURRY, Edward M.
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital Gander, in the early morning on January 02, 2015 Edward M Burry, age 83 years. Predeceased by parents Edward and Lucy Burry, brothers, Claude, Llewellyn, Fred and Ambrose, sisters, Phoebe, Ella and Leah. Left with loving memories are his wife, Marina, Brother Albert (Louise), brothers-in-law Don Freake, John Porter, Alec (Phyllis) Porter, Marshall (Doris) Porter, Hubert (Pansy) Porter, sisters-in-law Mary Burry, Hilda Lewis, Margaret (Harold) Manuel. Rested at St. George's Anglican Church Boyd's Cove. Funeral service was held on Sunday, January 04, 2015. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Boyd's Cove. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Edward's memory may be made to St. George's Anglican Cemetery Fund. Arrangements entrusted through Gordon Woolfrey's Funeral Home, Lewisporte.

FOSS, Bert

Bert Harvey Foss
of Hanover passed away at Hanover and District Hospital, Hanover on Saturday, January 3, 2015. He was 86. Survived by his children Ivan (Loretta) of St. George's, NL, Terry (Sharon) of Mt. Pearl, NL, Barry (Diane) of Bishop Falls, NL and Sheila (Mac) Barber of Walkerton. Grandfather of Amy (Terry) Sheppard, Julieanne (Billy) Reddy, TraceyLynne, Brandon (Tracy) and Leticia. Brother of Sandy (Glowena) Foss, Winnie (Bob) Rowsell, Joyce (Enurchas) Bursey, Shirley (George) Walsh, Edith (Wilfred) Nippard all of Embree, NL. Bert will be fondly remembered by the Bamber family. Bert was predeceased by his first wife Minnie (nee Rowsell), second wife Edith Bamber (nee Ringel) and his brothers Woodrow, Everett, Harold and Robert. Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Walkerton Pentecostal Church, Walkerton with Rev. Don Forrest officiating. Interment at Douglas Hill Cemetery, Brant Township, Ontario. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. - It is with sadness that the family of the late Amelia (Millie) Ann Fudge announces her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL Aged 87 years. Amelia (Millie) is predeceased by her husband Maxwell Fudge, infant son Lewis, son Cyril, several brothers and sisters. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children, Wilson (Loretta) Fudge, Eileen (Jean-Guy) Sabourin, Lionel (Carol) Fudge, Juanita (Danny) Hillier and Loretta Curlew, grandchildren Robert Fudge, Michelle Fudge, Kent Fudge, Christopher Fudge, Wendy Skinner, Susan Fudge, Craig Hillier, Stephen Hillier, Melanie Sabourin, Tina Sabourin, Jason Sabourin, Angus Curlew and Aimee Curlew, 26 great-great grandchildren, sister Gladys Rideout, daughter-in-law Georgina, son-in-law Brian Curlew, as well as several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The funeral service took place Friday, Jan. 9, 2015 at 2 p.m. from St. Matthew's United Church. The interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Lewisporte, NL. Flowers greatly accepted and as expressions of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. GATES, Sidney

- Passed away peacefully at Lakeside Homes, Jan. 3, 2015. Leaving to mourn with cherished memories daughter Susan (Austin) White, sons Chesley (Dianne), harris (Holly), Harvey (Louise), Tony (Shirley), John (Sunita) and Gary (Angela), grandchildren Jaime, Jason, Heather, Hilary, Zachary, Ashley, Christopher, Sarah, Jordan, Amanda, Rachel, Alyssa, Kyle and Joshua, great-grandchildren Brayden, Madenna, Nathan, Aaron, Caleb, Carter and Brooklynn, half-brothers Ray (Malena) and David, half-sisters Vera (Hayward) Watkins, sisters-in-law Louise and June Gates, also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Sidney is predeceased by his wife Hazel, parents Edward and Gertrude, grandson Kevin, brothers Melvin and Cyril, half-brother Roy and half-sister Rita Noel. He was laid to rest at the Summerford United Church Cemetery on Jan. 22, 2015. Sidney will be fondly remembered and missed by his family and friends.

PICKETT, Augustine

Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, Augustine Pickett of Clarenville, formerly of Fogo, aged 67 years. Predeceased by his father Frank; son Kenneth and Danny; brother-in-law Alonzo Penton. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories his daughters Kelly Broaders (Jerry), Joe Batts Arm, Tracy Freake (Cory), C.B.S., Lana Maloney (John), Clarenville, Mary Pickett, Gander and Alora Pickett (Grant), Gander; sons Michael (Krista), Farro, Yukon, Dennis (Miranda), Corner Brook, Patrick (Angela), Clarenville, and Jamie, Clarenville; 15 grandchildren; his mother Mary Pickett; sisters Kit Hickey (Alec), Ontario, Lucy Penton, Joe Batts Arm and Madonna Brenndon (Phillip), Toronto, ON; brother Patrick Pickett (Linda), PEI; and a large circle of family and friends. Memorial service took place on Friday, January 21, 2015 at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville.

ROBERTS, Daniel

Peacefully passed away in the presence of his loving family at the Health Sciences Centre, St John's on Thursday, Jan 29th, 2015, Mr. Daniel Gilman Roberts, age 91years. He was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Caroline Roberts; sister, Elizabeth Burton. Dan, formally from Change Islands and resided on Fogo Island and St John's, was instrumental with other Fogo Island residents in establishing the Fogo Island Co-operative in the 1960 and 70s. He will be forever remembered by his wife, Grace of 68 years married, daughters, Carolyn (Ford), Susan, Jocelyn (David); sons, David (Elizabeth), Tony (Maxine); 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Left with fond memories are his two sisters, Susanne Crummey and Ruth Baxter as well a large circle of family and friends. At Dan's request, cremation has taken place. There will be no public visitation. Family and friends are welcome to visit his wife Grace as she is residing with her daughter Jocelyn (David) Day in Paradise, NL.

WHEELER, Dorothy

- Passed away on January 13 at the North Haven Manor, Lewisporte at the age of 84 years. Predeceased by parents Joshua and Ida Jenkins, husband Maxwell, daughter Evelyn, a young son Willis and eight brothers. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories sons George (Elsie), Ronald (Phyllis), Donald, Reginald (Elsie), Malcolm (Laura), Leroy (Ruby), Woodrow, John (Shelley), daughters Mae (Malcolm), Macy Ann (Wayne), sister Gladys Burt, 28 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a large circle of relatives and friends. Many thanks to the New World Island Funeral Home for your compassion and professionalism and to workers and staff at North Haven Manor in Lewisporte. Great thanks to Pastor Baine Andrews and Pastor Eric Ings for officiating the services and Pastor Hardy Troake with the solo song and sermon. Thank you to the ladies who provided the beautiful meal after the funeral, and all those who sent flowers, cards, food and the many phone calls and visits. Predeceased by parents Ray and Delphine White, and mother-in-law and father-in-law Maizie and Harold Porter. Left with loving memories are his wife Donna, daughter Terry Lynne, son-in-law Brian Tucker, sisters Gail Layden, Thelma (Stan) Whiting, Cherrie (Wilson Moyles) White and Pam White, brothers Harold (Shirley) White, Lorne (Cheryl) White, Varrick (Karen) White and Greg White, as well as many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. It is with sadness that the families of the late Julia Pearl Woolfrey announce her passing at the North Haven Manor, Lewisporte, NL on Saturday, January 24, 2015, aged 89 years. Julia leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children Sandra (David) Budden, Cheryl (Brian) Gale and David; grandchildren, Sarah, Sacha, Andrew and Chloe; beloved niece, Shirley (Fred) Andrews as well as a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Julia is predeceased by her husband, H.R. Scott Woolfrey; daughter, Glenys-Lee; parents, Lemuel and Maude Greenland; siblings, Clarence, Mildred, Harvey, Clayton, and William. The funeral service took place Monday, January 26, 2015 at 2 p.m. from St. Matthew's United Church, Lewisporte, NL with interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Lewisporte, NL. In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy donations in her memory may be made to the "Living Skills" Calypso Foundation. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte, NL.
