BURSEY, Alma
(April 1, 1921 - February 21, 2014)

It is with sadness that the families of the late Alma Bursey announce her passing at the Lakeside Homes, Gander, NL aged 93. Alma leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories: sons, Jeffro (Doreen), Phillip (Joan), Gerald (Pam), & Gary (Wanda); grandchildren, Jeanette, Andrew, Lynn, Mark, Sue, Ellen, Matthew, Brandy, Shannon, Andrew, Jonathan, & Sarah; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Levi Ginn; sister-in-law Pricilla Ginn. Alma is predeceased by her husband, Rev. Maxwell Bursey of Change Isalands; mother, Annie Gunn (Cooper) & father James Ginn; sister, Estley (Charlie); brothers, William (Meta) Ginn, Otto Ginn, Garfield, Ron Ginn; sister-in-law, Gertrude Ginn; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The public visitation took place Sunday, February 23, 2014, at 7-9 pm from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte, NL. The funeral service took place Monday, February 24, 2014 at 2 pm from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte, NL. The interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Comfort Cove, NL. As expressions of sympathy, donations in her memory were made to Lakeside Seniors Home, Gander, NL. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte, NL.

BURT, Rosemary Helena
(October 27, 1969 - February 23, 2014)

It is with sadness that the families of the late Rosemary Helena Burt announce her passing at the North Haven Manor, Lewisporte, NL aged 44 years. Rosemary leaves to mourn with fond loving memories: her parents, Willis & Helena Burt; sister, Jennifer (Craig) Head; brother, Jaret (Nadine); nieces, Nicole, & Leah; nephews, Ryan, & Logan. The public visitation took place, Monday February 24, 2014 at 4 pm-6:30 pm from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte, NL. The funeral service took place Tuesday February 25, 2014 at 2 pm from the United Church, Comfort Cove, NL with Rev. Dianne Carew officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, Lewisporte, NL.

COBB, Ella

Passed on: February 20th, 2014

Predeceased by her husband George; parents Dorothy Wells and Stewart Combden and her brothers Robert, Harold, Richard and John. Leaving to mourn her sisters Edna and Loretta; brothers Pearce, Hormon, Herb, Cliff, Bob and Howard; daughters Jacqueline, Margaret (Raymond), Deborah (Dale) and Cheryl (Luke); grandchildren Craig, Cherie, Naomi, Amanda, Joseph, Nicholas and Jared and 12 great grandchildren. With heavy hearts we say goodby to our dear mother who passed away after a long illness on February 20th, 2014 at Hoyles Nursing Home, St. John's. She was a woman of profound faith and had a deep love of the Bible. She took great pride in her girls and great joy in her grandchildren. She loved to cook and knit and spent many wonderful years on Fogo Island with her husband George. Warmest thanks to Hoyles staff for the care and respect shown to our mother and appreciation for the gifts of flowers and food. A graveside service for family & friends will be held at the Fogo Island Jehovah's Witness's Cemetery in July.

STARKES, Wilbert (Bert)
Starkes, Wilbert (Bert
) of Lewisporte, passed away at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's on Wednesday, Feb 26, 2014 after a brief illness at the age of 80 years. Predeceased by his wife Vera, Parents William and Lillian, mother-in-law Gertrude Luff. Leaving to cherish his memory is daughter Diane (Dennis) Goodyear and grandson Brandon, father-in-law Raymond Luff, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held at the Philadelphia Pentecostal Church in Lewisporte on Sunday, March 2, 2014. Funeral arrangements by Families First Funeral Home, Lewisporte. Interment at Philadelphia Cemetery, Lewisporte.
