BAILEY, Rhoda Lydia
(February 27, 1920 - December 7, 2007)

It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing away of Rhoda Lydia Bailey (nee Godwin) at the age of 87 on December 7, 2007 in Carmelite House, Grand Falls-Windsor - February 27, 1920 - December 7, 2007. Rhoda, originally from Shoal Bay, she spent many years in Goose Bay and later moved to Embree and then to Grand Falls. She was the last surviving child of James Godwin and Harriet Peckford. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters as well as her loving husband, James Ebsary Bailey, on May 28, 1979. Son: Frank (Janna); Grandson Todd (Kim) and Great Grandchildren, Liam and Keirin. Grandson, Francis and Great Grandchildren, Jacob and Emma-Leigh. Daughter: Daphne, Amaral; Granddaughter, Denise (Brian) and Great Grandchildren, Jordan and Tristan. Grandson, Allen (Elana) and Great Grandchilden, Ava and Aubrielle. Daughter: Bev (Gord) Martin: Grandson Andy Brothers (Paula): and Great Granddaughter, Mikaela and Great Grandson, Riley. Granddaughters, Kim and Bailey, Daughter: Gail (Boyce) Stryde, Grandson: Richard and Great Grandson Ethan and Grandson, Daniel. She also leaves with loving memories many nieces and nephews. Thanks to the staff at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor for their love and care. Special thanks to Dr. Jim for the special care he provided. A Very special thanks to Shirley, Virtue, Mildred, Nancy and Brook for the overwhelming love, care and dedication. We really appreciated all the love and care you have given Mom and we will be forever grateful. Mom will be remembered for her kindness, her humour and her love for her family. Rhoda, "Bailey" as known by many will be missed by all that had the pleasure of meeting her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson Society Newfoundland and Labrador or a charity of your choice. The Funeral took place on Monday, December 10th at 2pm from St. Paul's Anglican Church in Lewisporte.
