The Lewisporte Pilot Obituaries
August 2006

BALL, Kimberley Ann
(September 28, 1976 - August 14, 2006)

Passed away at her Residence in St. John's on August 14, Kimberley Ann Ball of Lewisporte, age 29 years. The funeral service was held on Thursday, August 17th at 2:00 pm. As expressions of sympathy, flowers will be gratefully accepted. Kimmi (as she was known) was born on September 28,1976 to Scott and Josephine Ball. She was an easy-going, fun-loving young woman who enjoyed life and who especially loved her Mom and Dad with all her heart. Kimmi and her sister, Traci, were more than siblings, they were like best friends. They shared a bond that no other can compare to. Kimmi graduated from high school in 1994. She then worked with her mom for a couple of years at her moms craft shop. In 1997, she enrolled in the Information Technology course at the Lawrence College in St. John's where she took up residence. For the past five or six years, Kimmi was employed at Wal-Mart and enjoyed her work there. She was dearly loved by her family and all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. She leaves to mourn her passing; her devoted parents, Scott & Josephine, sister Traci, Nan Ball, Nan and Pop Cull, Aunts and Uncles, and a large circle of family and friends.
Every child is a different kind of flower, and together, they make a beautiful garden. Today, God's garden is blooming with one more beautiful rose.

BLACKWOOD, May
(May 15, 1946 - August 18, 2006)

Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on August 18, 2006, after a long and very courageous battle with cancer, Ella Elizabeth MAY BLACKWOOD of Clarke's Head in her 61st year. May was predeceased by her first husband, Leroy Bauld; her father, Cecil Leslie Blake; and her brother, Alvin E. Blake. Left behind to honour her memory are her mother, Eva Blake; her husband, Harold; a son, Shawn Bauld (Rhonda) of Clarke's Head; a daughter, Linda Bursey (Darren) of Gander; and a step-daughter, Pauline Collins (Eugene) of Carmanville; her beloved grandchildren Sarah and Morgan Bauld; her namesake Hannah May Bursey; as well as her step-grandchildren, Dwayne Collins (Jeff) of Toronto, ON; Dion Collins (Kayla) of St. John's; and Denise Collins of Calgary, AB. Also remembering their sister with great affection is her brother, Frank Blake (Ann) of Victoria Cove; and her sisters, Ruby Snow (Evan) of Campbellton; Marjorie Snow (Bill) of St. Phillip's; Isabel Hancott of Frederickton; and Nellie Burke (Sean) of St. John's; as well as her sister-in-law, Daphne Blake of Main Point. Also remembering Aunt May fondly are twenty-one nieces and nephews, one of whom, Rhonda Gidge (Kevin) of Port Coquitlam, BC held an extra special place in May's heart. May was her "Mom" for the first four years of Rhonda's life, and Rhonda's daughters, Kaitlyn and Rhianna will miss Nana very much. May will also be remembered by her Uncle, Nelson Holmes of Seldom and her only first cousins, George King (Frances) of Lochaline, Scotland; Chrissie O'Neil (George) of Fort William, Scotland; Elsie Shillinglaw (David) of Worcester, South Africa; and Elizabeth Meredith (Dick) of Cleethorpes, England; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to name.
May made lasting friendships wherever she went and many people will be saddened to hear of her passing. She leaves a legacy of love, and those of us left behind will feel sorrow that she is gone on ahead, but also joy that we were given the opportunity to know her.
A service celebrating her life was held on Monday, August 21st at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Wing's Point, with interment in the Anglican Cemetery in Clarke's Head. Donations in her memory may be made to the Cancer Clinic at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander or to the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Wing's Point.
Rest in peace, May, until we meet again.
