Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, December 27th, Allan Ivany, aged 69 years. Left to mourn besides his wife Elizabeth are two daughters Muriel (Mrs. Ira Gillam) of Corner Brook, and Barbara (Mrs. Les Spracklin) of the city; five sons, Ray and Bill at Washington, D.C., Allan at Musgravetown, Boyd at Niagara Falls and Fred at Toronto. The remains are resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 28 Cochrane Street. Funeral will take place at 2.30 p.m. on Thursday, December 29th, to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Queen's Road. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

IVANY, Andrew

Obituary. There passed peacefully away early yesterday morning a well known and highly esteemed young man in the person of Andrew Ivany, son of Mary and the late James Ivany. The deceased was in his 25th year, and had been ailing for about eighteen months. He was for six years steward on the S.S. Bellaventure, a position he filled very creditably. To his sorrowing mother, brother and five sisters the Telegram extends sincerest sympathy.

Dear son of the late Effie Miller and the late Robert Ivany. Loving father of Linda (Mrs. Tom Johnson) of St. Regis, Quebec, Robert Ivany (husband of Josee) of Dorion, Quebec, Kevin Ivany (husband of Alice) of Cornwall, Christine (Mrs. Robert Thompson) of Pilon Island, Todd Ivany (husband of Marlene) and Tina Ivany, all of Cornwall. Dear brother of Walter Ivany (husband of Dorothy) of London, England, Fran Webster of Newfoundland, Mae (Mrs. Al Geary) of Boston, Massachusetts, Mabel (Mrs. Abe Kane) of Newfoundland and Warrick Ivany (husband of Vera) of Dryden, Ontario. Sadly missed by nineteen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren. Interment will take place on Saturday, May 31, 1997 at 2 p.m. in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road.

IVANY, Cecil Roy

Passed away in Ottawa on February 6, 2000 aged 93 years. He was born in English Harbour, Nfld., Sept. 16, 1906, the son of Mark Ivany of English Harbour and Mary Jane Christian of Trinity. He emigrated to Canada in the 1930's and lived in Toronto for all but the last few years of his life. Those final years he spent in Ottawa. He was predeceased by his wife, Annie Lavinia Batstone of English Harbour, in January 1987 and his brother Colin of English Harbour in May 1976. He is survived by his daughter Diane Ivany Hynes (Tom) of Ottawa and his son David Roy Ivany (Valerie) of Boston; by his grandchildren Mark and Kristin Hynes of Ottawa; and by his brother Donald of Cannington, Ontario. He will be buried on Thursday, February 10th in Glendale Memorial Gardens, 1810 Albion Rd., Rexdale, Ontario. He will be remembered with fond memories.

Passed away at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay on Monday, February 14, 2000, age 87 years. He was born in English Harbour, Newfoundland, the son of Mark Ivany of English Harbour and Mary Jane Christian of Trinity. He immigrated to Canada in the 1930's settling first in Toronto and then from 1946-1995 in Newmarket. He lived his final years in Cannington. He is predeceased by his wife Gladys Fulcher of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and brothers Cecil and Colin Ivany of English Harbour. He is survived by his daughter Carol and her husband Roden Rutledge of Cannington, and son Murray and his wife Lorraine of St. Albert, Alberta. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Stephen Rutledge and his wife Ann, Michael Rutledge and his wife Deanna, and Meghan and Amy Ivany, great grandchildren Olivia, Bradley and Ryan Rutledge and dear friend Margaret. A Memorial Service will be held at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St. South, Newmarket on Friday at 3 p.m. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Passed peacefully away April 27, 1999, after a short illness, Edgar Ivany of Howley, but resided in Springdale for past 3 years, at the Health Sciences Center, St. John`s. He was 79. Mr. Ivany retired from Bowaters, Nfld. Predeceased by mother, father and 2 brothers. Left to mourn are wife Susie; sons: Ross (Rosemary), Howley, Nfld, Derrick (Joan), Fort Erie, Ont., Glenn (Rosemary), Bay Bulls, NF, Darrin, (Joanne), Barrie, Ont.; daughters: Beverly (Rayfield), Springdale, Nfld. Also leaving to mourn sisters: Veta Strong (Harold), Ellie Maddox (Tracey), Julie Watton (Harvey); and brother Clement (Doris); 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Marion Davis conducted Funeral Services at Grace United Church, Springdale, April 30. Interment was at United Church Cemetery, Springdale. Funeral arrangements were by Bill Weeks and Eddie Wembleton, White Dove, Springdale. Pallbearers were George Earle, William Penney, Bruce White, Gary Stead, Ivan Curtis, Don McLean.

Gordon Ivany, one of the missing stewards of the Florizel, was a son of Mr. Martin Ivany, of 77 Charlton St. He was unmarried. Mr. Ivany is also mourning another son, who was with the First Royal Newfoundland Regiment, and who has been reported missing since the 3rd of December last.

Mills conducted funeral services at Memorial United Church, Grand Falls - Windsor Monday, May 6th at 2:00 p.m. Interment was at United Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were by Michael Goodyear of Central Funeral Home. Pallbearers were members 166 R.N. Regiment of Branch 12, Royal Canadian Legion.

She was in excellent health up to a few months ago. She resided with her sister, Mrs. Frances LeDrew. She passed away Feb. 28. Rev. Roland Wells officiated at the burial service.

IVANY, Mrs. Martin

Obituary. With deep regret we chronicle the death of Mrs. Martin Ivany, 37 Charlton Street, at the age of 62 years. The deceased had a paralytic stroke just after the drowning of her son, Gordon, on the ill-fated S.S. Florizel, and Private John Alfred, who was killed in Cambrai, France. In August last, she had another attack, and on the 28th inst., she had the final stroke. She leaves behind a husband, one son Rendell, at Horwood's Lumber Company, one daughter Queenie, and two grandchildren; also two sisters, Mrs. George Noseworthy of this city, and Mrs. John Howell, sr., of Valleyfield, B.B. - Com.

Leaving to mourn three daughters: Jean Fisher of London, Ont., Joyce Parrell (John) of Mount Pearl, with whom she [sic] resided, and Judy Byrne (Tom) of St. John's; three sisters: Clara Scott of St. John's, Bell Garland of St. John's, and Mary Ellis of Toronto, Ont.; six grandchildren: Billy and Chris Parrell, Chris Boone Jr., Tracy Cowan of Dartmouth, N.S., Judy Carter and Linda; also seven great-grandchildren. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue. Visitation 5-10 p.m. Monday, 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday. Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday from Barrett's Chapel. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

IVIMEY, Jonathon

Passed away on Friday, Feb. 16th, Jonathon Ivimey, aged 85 years. Leaving to mourn, his wife, two sons, Ray at St. John's, and Carl at Jamaica Plain, Mass.; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one brother. Funeral took place from his late residence Coley's Point, to the United Church Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 18th.

Died. On the 15th inst., Mr. Richard Ivory, in the 70th year of his age. Deceased was a native of Mullinavat, County Kilkenny, Ireland, and was 47 years a resident of this country.
