ANDERSON, Roderick "Rod"
- Dartmouth- It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our father Roderick (Rod) Anderson age 68 years of Dartmouth, Rod passed away suddenly Sunday February 4, 2018 at Dartmouth General Hospital. He is survived by daughter Kristinia "Tinia" O'Hearn (Tommy), son Stephen Anderson (Melissa) , grandsons, Kade O'Hearn, Draven Anderson , granddaughter Tianna O'Hearn, sisters Shirley, Sandra and Dorothy , niece Joanne, nephews Dion, Jason and Jeremy , girlfriend Darlene, best friend Jimmy Sawler and many other lifelong friends. Predeceased by mother Ada (White) Anderson of Mouse Island NFLD., father Cpl. Roderick Wilson Anderson of Port aux Basques. Service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday February 9, 2018 at Dartmouth Funeral Home, 29 Queen Street Dartmouth. Donations can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Tim Hortons Camp for Children or SPCA. The family would like to thank everyone for the care, and support given to Dad and family. Campbell, Tracey Dianne
, age 30, of Dartmouth, passed away on February 6, 2018, at home. Born in Port aux Basques, she was the daughter of Kim Campbell and Calvin (Nadine) Campbell. Tracey attended Dartmouth High School. She loved animals, especially her dog "Boo". She loved to go 4-wheeling, swimming, and spending time at the cabin in Codroy Valley with her grandparents. She enjoyed doing puzzles, coloring and drawing. Her greatest treasure was her son Raymond. When she was able, she spent time volunteering with seniors. Tracey had a big heart and loved to give to everyone. She is survived by her mom, Kim, Dartmouth; father Calvin (Nadine), Wabush, Labrador; son Raymond, Beaver Bank; grandfather Gilbert Riles, Port aux Basques, NL; Uncle Terry Riles and cousin Jillian Riles, both of Yellowknife; many other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 2-4pm on Saturday February 10 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. Cremation and interment in Newfoundland to take place at a later date. Flowers are welcome. Memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Canada. Special thanks to all of the family, friends and coworkers who have offered their support at this difficult time.

- Age 77, Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2018 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Harbour Grace, NL, he was a son of the late Harold and Adelaide (Purcell) Forward. Surviving are his sons, Paul (Debbie), Cherryfield; John, Bridgewater; Wade (Stephenee), Baker Settlement; Gregory, Bridgewater; Rodney (Christine), Oakhill; grandchildren, Jacqueline, Jordan, Sabrina, Ryan and a great-grandson, Ashton; sister, Doreen (Allen) Skinner, Riverport; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife on January 13th, Lorna Gertrude (Meisner); sisters, Isabel and Phoebe; brothers, Earl, Austin, Clarence, Les, Ross, Garfield, Kevin, Harold and half-brother, Marty Rose. No visitation or flowers by request. Service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the South Shore or charity of choice. LIGHT (Johnson), Shirley Marie
, of Dartmouth passed away on February 5, 2018 with her loving husband Edward at her side. Born in Trouty, Trinity Bay, NL, she was daughter to the late James and Mary Johnson. She is predeceased by her brother Emil Johnson. Shirley will be greatly missed and forever in the hearts of her husband Edward Light, to whom she was married for 57 years; son, Edward (Christina) Light Jr.; daughter, Laura (Clark) Piercey; granddaughters, Sharayah, Natalie, and Emily, her treasures. She leaves behind a long list of family and friends who loved her dearly and who will miss her tremendously. Service of memory and celebration to take place Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Forest Hills Fellowship Baptist Church, 915 Cole Harbour Rd, Dartmouth, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association.


MacKINNON, Margaret "Marjorie" Joseph

MacKinnon, Margaret ("Marjorie") Joseph
- 89, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 22, 2018 at Parkland at the Lakes in Dartmouth. Born in St. John's, Newfoundland on March 19, 1928 (St. Joseph's Day), she was the daughter of the late John Leo Dee and Kathleen May (O'Connell) Dee. Marjorie's family immigrated from Newfoundland to Canada in 1938. Marjorie graduated from Mount St. Vincent in 1950, and entered the Social Work program at the Maritime School of Social Work. She was awarded a Masters degree by St. Francis Xavier University in 1952. After working with the Catholic Children's Aid in Toronto until 1955, she embarked on a five-month travel adventure through Europe. Upon returning from Europe, Marjorie worked at the Montreal Children's Hospital from 1956 to 1958. She returned to Halifax and married Myles in October 1958.

Marjorie raised her family but continued to work in social work with the Maritime School of Social Work and also the Dartmouth School Board. She enjoyed spending her summers with family and friends at their summer cottage in Margaree Harbour. Upon Marjorie's and Myles' retirements, they enjoyed travelling and spending time with their children and grandchildren and extended family and friends.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband Myles, sisters Marie Dee, Gladys (Fellows); she is survived by her sister, Frances (Casserly), Lee-on-Solent, U.K. and her children Myles Barry (Victoria), Neil (Aileen), Sheila, all of Toronto, and Peter (Cindy) of Raleigh, N.C. She will be greatly missed by her six grandchildren Emily, Julia, Catherine, Sarah, Rachel, and Joshua and many nieces, nephews and grand-nieces/nephews. Her family would like to thank the team of Shannex Parkland at the Lakes whom have provided Marjorie excellent care and love over the last few years, particularly the kind and caring third floor staff at Glasgow Hall.

Visitation will take place 5:00-8:00 pm on Monday, February 26 at the Dartmouth Funeral Home, 29 Queen St., Dartmouth. Funeral mass will take place at 2pm on Tuesday, February 27 at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 10 Maple St., Dartmouth, Fr. Jim Richards officiating. Burial will follow Gate of Heaven cemetery, Lower Sackville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.


MANUEL, Clarice Marie (nee Freake)

(July 18, 1931- February 8, 2018)

It is with deep sadness that the family of Clarice Manuel, (nee Freake), announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook, NL on February 8th, 2018 at the age of 86 years. Predeceased in 2002 by her husband of 50 years, Randall Manuel, Clarice leaves to mourn her children Norman (Hazel) of Kentville, N.S, Ann (Doug Willms) of Fredericton, N.B. and Elizabeth of Corner Brook, NL, her grandchildren Christopher (Emma), Matthew (Jennifer), Alison, Maya, Andrew and great grandchildren Cohen, Teagan and Ryder. The eldest of six daughters, born to Stella and Sidney Freake of Lewisporte, NL, Clarice also leaves to mourn her five sisters, Elsie McInnis, Loretta Young, Vera Young (Bill Fry), Henrietta Tilley (Don) and Beverly Butt (Keith), a large circle of nieces, nephews and other relatives, extended family and friends. In keeping with Clarice's wishes, cremation and internment have already taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Clarice's memory to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be greatly appreciated by the family.
