Comeau, Ruth Taylor
, age 82, of Halifax, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 17, 2015 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown. Born in Harbour Grace South, NF, she was the daughter of Hunter and Daisy Snelgrove. Ruth and John enjoyed 30+ years in PEI, raising their family and working. During that time, they built their cherished Cumberland cottage to which they returned each summer since retiring to Halifax in 1992. Ruth lovingly enjoyed her long time Fairview Drive friends, the Bridge Club girls and the Maritime Electrical Gang. Ruth had a special attachment to Newfoundland and her family there.

Survived by her husband of 60 years, John; daughter, Margaret Nancy; son, Bradley Frederick (Debbie); sisters, Audrey Platt (David), Joan Steffin (Peter); granddaughters, Courtney and Aleighsha, as well as several nieces and nephews and her extended family in Newfoundland. Predeceased by parents, Hunter and Daisy Snelgrove; brother, Frederick Snelgrove.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 23 from 1-2pm with memorial service following at 2:00 pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, with reception to follow. Interment in St. John's Columbarium, Halifax. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Special thanks from the family to Paul and the other ICU Nurses at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, as well as Dr. MacKenzie and Jennie.

DOUCETTE, Nathaniel Augustine
, 61 of Lower Sackville, passed away peacefully in his home. Born in Port au Port, Newfoundland, he was the son of Augustine and Pauline (Gabriel). Nat was a retired Air Canada Aircraft Engineer and held the title of Sandan in Karate. He is survived by his children, Rachael (Todd), Nathan (Jill), April (Terry) and Tyler (Chloe), Laura (mother of April and Tyler; siblings, Philip (Evelyn), Freda (Earl) Nelson (Eileen), Edith (Albert), Gabriel (Claude), Anastasia (Dillon), Melina (Brian) Phyllis, Gus (Sylvia, Pauline (Don); 3 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Sadly missed by his large circle of friends and is loved and fondly remembered by the Lewis family, to which he was an important part of. Nat was predeceased by parents Augustine and Pauline; brother, Raymond and sister Grace. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Monday from 6 pm to 9 pm in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive A memorial will be held Tuesday 1pm in the chapel. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brentwood Recovery Home, 2335 Dougall Avenue, Windsor, Ontario, N8X 1S9. Miles, Ivy Jane
passed away August 30, 2015, in Halifax. Born in Boxey, Fortune Bay, NL in 1921 she was a daughter of the late Alecia and Reginald Skinner. She was a housewife, seamstress, and cook and loved to show off her garden. She loved family visits and enjoyed playing cards. She knitted many caps for infants at the IWK as well as for cancer patients. Ivy was predeceased by her husband of 70 years in 2011, Warren Miles. She is survived by her children; Wilhelmina,(Terry), Gloria (Dan), Abraham (Heather), Loraine (Paul) and Cyril (Linda); grandchildren, Mark, David, John, Stephen, Lori, Devon and Tyson; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Alexandria, Warren, Nicolas, Alexandra, Hayden, Chloe, Owen, Samuel, Michael, Katelyn, Taryn, Nyah and Atticus; as well as her sisters, Ella Faircloth, Florida, Julie Woodman, Halifax and Eleanor Keeping, Jeddore. Her family is grateful to the staff at Northwood, Alder Shore for their kindness and care of their Mother and Grandmother. Memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 6, at 2:30 pm from J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr, Halifax, NS with Rev. Carson Baxter officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or to a charity of choice.


MURPHY, William James "Billy"

It is with great sadness that the family of William James "Billy" Murphy, 46, of Middle New Cornwall announces his passing on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Home. Born in St. John's NF, he was a son of Gerard Murphy, Mader's Cove and the late Cecilia (Power) Murphy. In earlier years, Billy attended Nova Scotia Community College and then went to work for many years as a grinder and moulder at the Lunenburg Foundry and Engineering, retiring due to ill health. He was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Bridgewater and he enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, and spending quality time with his son, Jamie and his father Gerard, camping, a good game of hockey and his Car Club Camix.

Besides his father, Gerard, he is survived by a son, Jamie (daughter-in-law-Kyla Risser) Mader's Cove; brother, Patrick and step-brother, Ken, both of Bridgewater. He was predeceased by his mother, and step-mothers, Barbara Veinotte and Joyce Murphy. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg, with visitation Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to celebrate Billy's life will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Bridgewater, Rev. Father Jim MacDonald, OMI and Deacon Patrick Morris, officiating. Interment will be in Martin's Brook Cemetery, Martins Brook. ROBICHEAU, Mary-Alice "Mae"
- Age 98, of La Villa Acadienne, Meteghan, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on Monday, August 3rd, 2015, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Newfoundland, she was a daughter of the late Edmond and Minnie (LeBlanc) Geddry. Mae resided in Toronto during most of her working life after which she moved back to Clare. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Ivan) Blinn; granddaughter, Anna (Pierre) LeBlanc; great grandsons, Martin and Olivier, all of Saulnierville. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard; son, Gerald; daughter, Patricia in infancy; several siblings. Funeral mass under the direction of Meteghan Funeral Home will be held Tuesday, August 11th, at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Saulnierville, Rev. Albeni d'Entremont officiating. Burial is to follow in Stella Maris Cemetery, Meteghan Centre. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.


ROUSHORN, Lucy

- 88, of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor Tuesday August 25, 2015. Born in Hardy's Cove Nfld., she was a daughter of the late James and Lucy Maude (Rose) Meade. Lucy was a wonderful lady who was kind to everyone and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Lucy is survived by niece, Phyllis (Wallace) Pack; cousin, Meta (Walter) Bateman; several nieces and nephews and cousins; sisters-in-law, Marion Hill, Ont., and Hilda Meade, Nfld; best friend, Susan Sitland. Besides her parents, Lucy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dale; sons, Wayne and Wilson; sisters, Effie Barns and Marjorie Wilson; brothers, Arthur and Harry Meade. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday August 29th at Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Interment will follow at Dartmouth Memory Gardens with a reception to follow. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.


SHEPPARD, Marie

It is with great sadness the family of Marie Sheppard, 58, of Lunenburg, announces her passing on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at the Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Harbour Breton, NL, she was a daughter of Mary (Clarke) Augot and the late Phillip Augot. Marie was a perfect wife, mother and grandmother who supported her family in every possible way. Her courage and strength of spirit will be carried forward by all who knew and loved her. Besides her mother, Marie, is survived by her husband of 37 years, Gregory; daughter, Alicia (David) Francis Spectacle Lakes; son, Greg (Ashley), Herman's Island; grandchildren, Oliver Francis, Hailey and Shayne Sheppard; several sisters and brothers in Newfoundland. She was predeceased by a son, Raymond Joseph Augot. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg, where a private family service to celebrate Marie's life will be held, Father James MacDonald officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia.


SKEFFINGTON, William B.

- age 82 years of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully at the QEII, Camp Hill on August 23, 2015. Born in St. John's, Newfoundland on September 27, 1932; he was a son of the late Reginald Skeffington and Gertrude Small. Left with fond and loving memories are his devoted wife of 58 years Margaret (Gladney); their children Reginald, William, Paul (Praew) and Donna; granddaughters Amanda Baker (Joseph), Billie-Bua Skeffington; great granddaughter Lana Baker; sisters Clotilde, Jean, Judy (Bruce); brothers in law Herb (Fredrica), Don (Bev) and John (Patricia) Gladney; also by many nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends. He will also be missed by his Comrades of The Atlantic Chiefs and P.O.'s Association. Predeceased by his sister Phyllis. In keeping with Bill's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 2pm from the Atlantic Funeral Home, Dartmouth Chapel with Rev. Dr. Patricia Malin officiating. Interment to follow at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only please. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bill made to the charity of the donor's choice.
