Bragg, Anne Lillian (nee Dinham) "Queen Anne", Born
June 20, 1931 in St. Jacques, Newfoundland. Anne passed away
peacefully surrounded by her children on June 24, 2012 at
Northwood Centre. Anne started teaching school at an early age and later became
a vice principal at Springdale Street Elementary School in St. John's
NL. She met the love of her life, Rupert, to whom she was married for 44 years
before he passed away in 1997. They had five children together and shared many
joyous times including family picnics, summer camping, playing cards, bowling
and most especially, family suppers. Anne volunteered over the years with various
organizations such as Big Bras d'Or Fire
Ladies Auxiliary, Ocean View Manor, St. Andrew's Anglican Parish in Cole
Harbour and later, St. John's Westphal Anglican Church - "The
Little Church With The Big Heart". Her greatest passion and joy in
volunteering was with the NS Literacy Foundation as she shared her teacher's
heart to give others the gift of reading and writing. Anne herself loved to
read, sit by the ocean, write poetry and especially play scrabble and WIN!!
Anne is survived by her sister, Effie George, children Dianne Bragg, Rhonda
Doherty (Richard), Paul Bragg (Katherine), Yvonne Timmins (Bruce) and Christine
Bragg. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren Jason Doherty, John Squires, Stephen
Squires, Laura Barry, Shane Timmins, Heather Bragg, Susan Bragg, Grace-Anne
Timmins, Abbey DeRoach, Cody DeRoach and 7 great grandchildren, several nieces
and nephews and many good friends. Anne was predeceased by her husband Rupert,
her parents Albion and Harriet Jane Dinham, brothers Clyde and John, sisters
Gladys and Olive. A very special thanks to all the staff of Northwood 4 Centre
who became her "other" family. They treated her with such love
and kindness for which her children will be eternally grateful. They truly
enjoyed her quick Newfie wit and humour. Visitation will be held 6:30-8:30
pm Wednesday, June 27, 2012 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth.
A private family service and burial will be held on Thursday. Family flowers
only. Donations may be made to Northwood Nursing Home 4 Centre in loving memory
of Anne Bragg.

DAWE, William David age 75 years of Eastern Passage passed away suddenly
at home on Sunday, June 17, 2012. Born in Burgeo,
Newfoundland
he was a son of the late Roy and Joyce Dawe. He was retired after a career
in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was a member of Somme Branch Royal Canadian
Legion and the Buffalo Club. He is survived by his companion Alice Naugle.
A son Todd (Natasha), daughters Sandra (Wayne) and Jeannie (David) and
their mother Alexis, as well as several grandchildren. He is also survived
by brothers Harry (Joan)- St. John's, Newfoundland and Edward "Ed" (Joan)-
Oakville, Ontario. Cremation has taken place. There will be no service by request.

of Halifax NS passed away unexpectedly at the Halifax Infirmary on June
1, 2012. Born in Hermitage, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the
late Ernest and Martha Hill. Adored and loved by her predeceased first husband,
Archie Engram and her second husband, Bert Gaulton. She is survived by her cherished
children, Billy (William) Engram (Shirley), Elizabeth Engram-Kenny (Archie),
Jeannie Engram-Herritt (Rollie) and Phyllis Engram-Dinham (Derek), her brother,
Kent Hill (Marty) and sisters-in-law, Lillian Cutler, Marty Hill and Rita Hill.
She was predeceased by darling daughters, Melita and Leona Engram, and brothers
and sisters Wallace, Wilfred, Herbert, Harry, Sandy, Warren, Gertie, Ursie, Hazel
and Beatrice. She was indeed a proud and loving Nana to Wanda, Teta, Tishie,
Shawna, Robbie, Richie, Susie and Steve and Great Nana to Cherish, Mason, Steel,
Sterling, Emma, Michaela, Sarah, Maxwell, Bertram, MacKenzie, Archie, Tyler,
Joshua, Alyssa and Harrison, and she was excitedly preparing for the arrival
of number fifteen, Skye.
A wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother,
a "Matriarch of our extended family". She passed away peacefully with
her family by her side. Her favourite place on Earth was anywhere, any place,
as long as she was with family. She also looked forward to spending time with
her dear friends in the evenings. She left a print of her heart on all those
who were blessed to have met her. "The world was a better place yesterday".
She will long be remembered for her unconditional love and her beautiful contagious
smile. "Mom, we shall miss you so much. The void in our hearts can never
be filled again. We love you." She was a most ardent supporter of a child
help organization www.everychildcounts.ca and taught us well how to care for
others. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation,
Canadian Cancer Society or Everychildcounts. Visitation will take place in JA

Nancy Kelly (1931-2012) 80, of Halifax, NS, formerly of Corner
Brook, NF, passed
away with family beside her on Saturday, June 23rd, 2012. Born in Humbermouth,
Corner Brook, NF, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Christina (Brewster)
Smith, the second youngest of eight children. She began her career as a bookkeeper
with Newfoundland Engineering and then Brookfield Ice Cream. Upon her marriage
to Claude, she devoted her life to being a wife and mother, and was known for
her superior culinary and sewing skills. She volunteered with the Canadian
Cancer Society, Canadian Kidney Foundation, Corner Brook Interfaith Home, Victorian
Order of Nurses, and Girl Guides Canada. She later enjoyed a successful career
beginning with Sears Canada and The Western Star before joining the Provincial
Court of Newfoundland, as Clerk of the Court and Justice of the Peace. She
obtained her Business Administration Diploma from the Grenfell Campus of Memorial
University of Newfoundland. Following retirement from the court, she was Chair
for the Employment Insurance Board of Referees, sat on the Board of Regents
of Memorial University, was a member of the Federal Seniors Advisory Committee
on Tax Reform, sat on the Committee on Family Violence, was an active volunteer
with the Newfoundland Liberal Party and was awarded the Queen's Jubilee Medal
for outstanding volunteerism. In 2008 she relocated from Corner Brook to Halifax,
NS, where she enjoyed several very happy years with family.
Nancy was an independent
and gifted woman, she was loved and will be greatly missed by her children,
James (Shirley) of St. John's, NF; Catherine Kelly Reader, Raymond, Janice
(Mike Hamilton) and Patricia (Charles) Pace, all of Halifax, NS; grandchildren
Darleen Kelly (Mark Kennedy), Grayson Kelly, Dylan and Leigh Reader (Mike Chambers),
Allyson Kelly, Jenny, Emily and Maria Shaw, Elizabeth and Alex Pace; great
grandchildren Cameron and Hailey Chambers; and her brothers Donald and Thomas.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Claude, her
siblings William, Ina (Chaffey), Elsa (Manovich), Lorna (Hansen), and George
as well as her daughter-in-law Jo-Anne Kelly. Arrangements are under the direction
of J.A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Rd., Halifax, where
a celebration of her life will take place from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. on Tuesday,
June 26th, 2012. Cremation has taken place. Burial to follow at a later date
in Corner Brook, NF. Donations to a charity of your choice are welcome. A very
special thank you is extended to the staff of Country Living Estates of Hatchet
Lake, Halifax County.
KILLEEN (Barnes) Marie-66

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear Marie in the Palliative
Care unit of the VG Site, QEII on June 11, 2012. She passed away surrounded
by her family and wrapped in love. Born in Frenchman's Cove Bay of Islands,
NL she was the daughter of Harry and Evelyn Macey Barnes.
Shortly after moving
to Nova Scotia in 1968, Marie met and married the love of her life Danny and
together they raised their three boys. Marie's greatest joy in life was
being mom to her three sons and Nanny to her grandchildren. Marie was devoted
to her family and friends and lived her life to the fullest, she was always
giving to others and appreciating life and all if offered.
Marie enjoyed her
Monday night Card Club, Dingalings Bowling Club, Big Leagues Soft Ball Team,
trips to the camp and listening to music and dancing. Marie cherished and enjoyed
spending time with her family and dear friends in NL and being with her brother,
sisters, nieces and nephews. She was adored by Danny and her boys, Brian, Michael
and Rodney who thank her for giving them a loving home and a wonderful childhood.
Marie is survived by her loving husband of 43 years Danny Killeen, Dartmouth,
NS and their Sons Brian (Jocelyn) Porters Lake, Michael (Theresa) Lake Echo,
Rodney (Beth) Lake Echo; Sisters Mary (Don) Lake, Lower Sackville, Loretta
(Calvin) Cornelius, Lower Sackville; Brothers, Wayne (Lisa) Barnes, Frenchman's
Cove, Bay of Islands, NL, Calvin (Hilda) Macey, Frenchman's Cove, Bay
of Islands, NL; Grandchildren, Jessica, Laura and Mitchell and many nieces
and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and brother George Barnes,
NL. The family would like to extend our deepest thanks and gratitude to Marie's
Physicians, VON and Palliative Care Nurses, who provided care and support for
Marie and the family on her journey. Visitation will be held Friday June 15,
2012 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm in Atlantic Funeral Home 771 Main Street Dartmouth.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday June 16, 2012 at 2 pm with reception
to follow Atlantic Funeral Home Dartmouth. Burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or
Canadian Diabetes Association.
MORRIS, Gary D.

MORRIS, Gary Douglas - 58, Auburn, Kings Co., passed away peacefully on Tuesday,
June 19, 2012, at home. Born in St. John's, Newfoundland, he was the
son of Laura Edith (Bemister) Morris, Grand View Manor, Berwick, and the late
Gerald Edgar Morris.
Gary retired after many years from Crown Metal Packing, Concord, Ont. He loved
to travel and also spent many hours on his sailboat with friends exploring
Georgian Bay. Gary was an avid fisherman and sport enthusiast enjoying golfing,
and hockey. Besides his mother is survived by a brother, David George Morris
(Gwen Millen), Mississauga, Ont.; dear friends, Beverly Wood, Barrie, Ont.;
Rick Greenfield, Schomburg, Ont.; Sandra Shaw, Berwick, as well numerous relatives
and friends in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and beyond.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Bryce Johnstone of DeMont Family Funeral
Homes & Cremation Service (902-538-8317). There will be no visitation.
Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 25, in St. Mary's
Anglican Church, 20 Morden Rd., Auburn. Rev. Charles Bull officiating, with
a reception to follow. Burial to take place in Newfoundland at a later date.

(March 22, 1954 - June 3, 2012) of Greenwood passed away Sunday,
June 3, 2012 at home surrounded by her family. Born in St. John's,
NL
she was a daughter of the late John and Annie (Martin) Oliver. Andrea was employed
with the Canex, 14 Wing Greenwood for 16 years and was an associate member of
the Royal Canadian Legion, Kingston Branch No. 98 for 10 years, where she was
the recipient of the Doucette Award for 2011. She enjoyed playing darts, cross
stitch and loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She is survived
by her loving husband of 38 years, Donald; daughters, Tanya (John) Majensky,
Moncton, NB and Brenda Russell (Ben Shirlaw), Courtney, BC; sister, Mary Hanlon,
St. John's, NL; brothers, Dan (Jean) Oliver; Bill (Betty) Oliver; Jim (Margaret)
Oliver; Kevin (Janyce) Oliver; Ron (Susan) Oliver; Gary Oliver; Karol Oliver;
Eugene (Stephanie) Oliver, all of St. John's, NL; grandchildren, Marshall, Johnny,
Nicholas, Emma and Maxwell and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents,
she was predeceased by her brothers John, Raymond and Louis. By Andrea's request,
cremation has taken place. A legion tribute service and reception will be held
2:00PM Thursday, June 7, 2012 in the Kingston Branch No.98, Royal Canadian Legion.
Interment will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery, Kingston. Donations in Andrea's

in Sandy Point, Newfoundland she was a daughter of the late
Arthur and Amelia (Swyers) Halbot. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother
who lived for her family. She will be deeply missed and always loved. She
is survived by daughters Sylvia Gatez, Ramona Saunders, Gladys Bundy (Craig)
all Dartmouth and Edna Newhook (Jim) Dutch Settlement, sons Arthur (Joanne),
Eastern Passage, Alfred (Nancy) -Ajax Ontario, as well as several grandchildren.
Brothers Walter, Gordon, Phillip and Harold, one sister Ada. She was predeceased
by her husband Harry, sons Paul and Harry Jr. as well as several siblings.
Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 Wednesday in Dartmouth

SNOW, Gertrude Maggie - Shelburne. It is with great sadness that the
family announces her passing on June 25, 2012 at Roseway Hospital,
Shelburne. She was born in Carmanville, NL, on September 6, 1921 to the late
Stephen and Bessie (Flynn) Goodyear. She is survived by her sister, Joan (Scott)
Hicks; daughters, Bonnie (Gordon) Steeves; Brenda (Ronald) Butler; Barbara
(Nathaniel) Matthews; grandchildren, Paul (Brandy) Steeves; Wade Matthews;
Carol (Jean-Sebastien) Ferland; Kathryn Butler; great-grandchildren, Caleb
Varner-Matthews, Logan and Rowan Steeves, and Thomas Ferland. Predeceased by
her husband Sidney; sisters Ivy Cull and Audrey Buell and granddaughter Kirsten
Butler. Gertrude's
life was centered around her family and her church. Gert was a lifetime member
of UCW and held various leadership roles in the United Church. She was also
involved with the I.O.D.E as Vice-Regent and Past Regent. Funeral service will
be held on Friday, June 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Trinity United Church, Shelburne
with Rev. Joanne McFadden officiating. A reception will follow in the church
hall. Interment will take place on July 5, 2012 at Carmanville , NL at 2:00
p.m. Donations in her memory can be made to Trinity United Church, Shelburne
or Roseway Hospital, Shelburne. The family would like to thank Angie Foell,
Mary Davis, and her staff at Mary's Abide-A-While Home for the support
