MURPHY, Elsie Blanche
The Chronicle-Herald, Thursday, 12 Apr 1984, page 42.
North Sydney - Elsie Blanche Murphy, 86, of 87 Peppett Street, North Sydney died Tuesday in Northside General Hospital. Born in Rose Blanche, Nfld., she was a daughter of the late George and Sarah (Vatcher) Skinner. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Marie Benac, Betty (Mrs. Ralph Ivey), Eileen, all of North Sydney; three sons, Gerald and Archie, both of North Sydney; William (Bud), Port aux Basque, Nfld; 30 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas, a son James, a daughter Elizabeth, three brothers and a sister. The body is in W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, North Sydney. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Church, Rev. James Oliver Officiating with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery.

PYE, Hanna
The Chronicle-Herald, Thursday, 21 Jun 1984, page 36.
Sydney Mines - Hanna Pye, 82, of 13 Diggen Street, Sydney Mines, died Wednesday in Northside General Hospital. Born in Victoria Village, Nfld., she was a daughter of Ananias and Annie (Slade) Antle. She was a member of Trinity Anglican Church, Sydney Mines. The last surviving member of her family, she is survived by four daughters, Annie (Mrs. Kenneth Snow), Bras d'Or, Alleine (Mrs. Louis Dove), Sydney Mines, Jean (Mrs. Ian Gillan), Ontario, Sarah Belle, at home; seven sons, Johnnie, Charlie, Victor, Leonard. Elijah, Ananias and Clarence, all of Sydney Mines; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert John; a son Fred. The body will be in Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home, Sydney Mines, after 7 p.m. today. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Trinity Anglican Church, with burial in Brookside Cemetery.
