JAMES H. HARDY, 78, of North Ingonish died in Sydney City Hospital
Friday. Surviving besides his widow, the former Mary MacLean of North
Ingonish, are five daughters, Ida (Mrs. Henry Roper), Laura (Mrs. John
Kerr), Marjorie (Mrs. Sandy MacRae) all of Sydney; Flo (Mrs. Harold Hardy)
Coxheath; Vangie
(Mrs. Lionel Lee) Glace Bay; three sons, Angus and Douglas, both of Glace
Bay; and Munroe, North Ingonish; two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Roberts, Ingonish;
and Mrs. Charles Budge, New Haven, Victoria County; two brothers, Simon
and Ben, North Ingonish. The body is at the Fillmore Funeral Home, Sydney,
from
where it will be transferred to St. John's Anglican Church in North Ingonish
Saturday. Funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m., with interment
in the parish cemetery.

James was the son of Richard Hardy and Jane Anderson both of Rose Blanche
NL. Richard was the son of Richard Hardy, Rose Blanche and Edith Jeans.
Jane Anderson was the daughter of Charles Anderson and Mary Rose both
of Rose Blanche
SLADE, Margaret (nee Clarke)

MRS. ERNEST SLADE, the former Margaret Clarke, 77, of Tobin Road, Sydney
Mines, died Friday. Born in Victoria, Newfoundland, she moved to Sydney
Mines 23 years ago. Surviving besides her husband, are five sons, Robert
and Donald, Ontario; Angus, Glace Bay; Jack, North Sydney; Major, Sydney
Mines; four daughters, Annie (Mrs. Willington Taylor) New Waterford;
Florence (Mrs. Mark Cole) Victoria, Nfld.; Effie (Mrs. Melvin Laffin)
Bras d'Or; Unetha (Mrs. Neil Dunn) Bras d'Or; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth
Clarke, Victoria, Nfld. The body is at the Fillmore and Whitman Funeral
Home, Sydney Mines, where a funeral service will be held Monday at 3:30
p.m. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery.
