ANDERSON, EDWARD (EDDIE)
December 26, 1958 - September 12, 2016

It is with saddened hearts that the family of the late Edward Lawrence announces his sudden passing at his residence in Burnt Islands on Monday, September 12 at the age of 57 years. He was the son of the late Edward Sr. and Annie Mae Lawrence. He was also predeceased by his brother Russell Hardy, mother-in-law Geraldine Keeping, brothers-in-law Terrance Keeping, Gordie Keeping, Hughie Keeping and Percy Thorne. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his devoted partner Lori-Ann Keeping of 18 years, daughter Karen Lawrence (Daniel), grandson Rylan all of Searston. He will forever remain in the hearts of his sisters and brother Lillian (John-Phil) Harvey Burnt Islands, Geraldine (George) Chaulk Mahone Bay NS, Gordon (Renee) Lawrence Lower Sackville NS, Susie (Ross) Munden Burnt Islands, Blanche (Russell) Lillington Isle aux Morts. He will also be fondly remembered by his father-in-law Hughie Keeping, sisters and brothers-in-law Bernadine Thorne, Cathy (Cecil) Thorne, Anderine (Henry) Courtney, Shawn Keeping (Gilda), Jabez (Meta) Keeping, Yvonne Keeping, Ruth Hardy all of Burnt Islands, 29 nieces and nephews, special aunt Ida Hardy Isle aux Morts, close family friend Sheena Harvey Burnt Islands, his little buddy Ty Munden and a large circle of extended family and many friends. Visitation took place on Wednesday and Thursday at St. George's Anglican Church in Burnt Islands, from where the funeral service took place on Friday, September 16, 2 pm officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Petten. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in memory of Edward may be made to his family. BATTISTE, JOSEPH (JOE)
November 29, 1949 - September 26, 2016

It is with saddened hearts that the family of the late Joseph Battiste announces his sudden passing on Monday September 26 at his residence on Charles Street at the age of 66 years. Born in Port aux Basques, Joe was the son of the late Thomas and Jane Battiste. He was also predeceased by infant brother Cyril, brother Lewis Battiste, sister Mabel Battiste. Mother and Father in law Lewis and Ada Bird, sister in law Laura Pearce, nieces; Amanda Battiste, Rhonda Seaward, nephews; Joey Pearce, Jason Seaward, brothers in law; Bob Peddle and Joe Pearce. Leaving to mourn with many fond and precious memories his wife Marie (nee Bird) of 41 years. Proud father of Benjamin (Kathy) Battiste Paradise NL, Jeremy Battiste Port aux Basques. He will forever remain in the hearts of his brothers and sisters; Ronnie (Maxine) Battiste Doyles, Nina Peddle, Audrey (William) Seaward, Ray Battiste, Kevin (Donna) Battiste all of Port aux Basques, Marlene (Tom) Brake South Branch, Gerard (Carolann) Battiste, Jerome (Pauline) Battiste all of Port aux Basques, sisters in law Mary Battiste and Jean Gabriel. Brother in law Wilfred (Geraldine) Bird Port aux Basques, sisters in law; Hazel (Don) Osmond Cape Ray, Irene Bird (Phil). Geraldine Bird (Terry) all of Port aux Basques, Christine (Clay) Hardy Cape Ray, his special Cat Charlie and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Visitation took place on Tuesday from 7-9 pm and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc, 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques. Funeral services took place on Thursday September 29, 2 pm at St. James Anglican Church, Channel officiated by Rev. Marlene Harvey. Interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in Joe's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. BILLARD, Ada
June 14, 1941- September 21, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ada Billard (nee Power) announces her passing on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center in Grand Falls Windsor, at the age of 75 years. Born in English Harbour West, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (nee Bishop) Power. Ada leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband, John Billard, her two sons, Austin (Susan) Billard and Andy (Tanya) Billard, grandchildren, Ashley, Samantha, Jonathon and Matthew Billard, brother, Howard Power, sisters, Lillian (Ray) Taggert, Effie (Fred) Cannaerts, sister-in-law Audrey Power, a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Ada was predeceased by brothers, Russell and William Power. Visitation took place at Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle-aux-Morts on Friday, September 23 from 2 - 4p.m. and 7- 9 p.m. and Saturday, September 24, 1 - 6 p.m. from where the funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 25 at 2 p.m., officiated by Rev Maryrose Colbourne. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ada's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice

CURRIE, RUBY LENORA
November 5, 1943 - September 20, 2016
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ruby Currie announces her sudden passing on Tuesday September 20, at Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 72 years. Born in Margaree, Ruby was the daughter of the late Peter and Emily Billard, she was also predeceased by her sister Olive (Freeman) Northcott, brother Cyril (Audrey) Billard, brother in law Augustus Walters, sister in law Phyllis Billard, mother and father in law; John and Winifred Currie, brother in law Gerald Currie, sister in law Jessie (Wesley) Skinner. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her devoted husband Marven of 52 years. Proud mother of Roland (Laura) Currie Port aux Basques, Dwayne Currie (Monique Petite) New Brunswick. She will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren Mallory, Hayley, Megan, Marcus, brothers Henry Billard, Roland Billard both of Margaree, sister Annie Walters of Fox Roost, sister in law Daisy Currie of St. John's NL and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation took place on Thursday evening and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at St. Augustine's Anglican Church in Margaree from where the funeral service took place on Saturday September 24, 2 pm, officiated by Rev. Maryrose Colbourne. Interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Flowers graciously accepted, donations in memory of Ruby can be made to the charity of one's choice. GALLANT, MICHAEL S
(WARRANT OFFICER CD1)

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that today we have lost a Son, a Brother, a Husband, a Father, and a Friend. Michael Stanley Gallant (25 Nov 1967 - 01 Sept 2016) passed quietly at the VG hospital surrounded by his family. Mike is survived by his wife Sharon, daughters Samantha and Katie. his parents Michael and Madonna Gallant, his sisters Bonita (Brad) Hutchinson, Shannon (Brendan) O'Quinn, his niece Hannah, nephew Liam, his grandmother Margaret Aucoin, in-laws Gerald and Ellen Lomond, brother in-laws Raymond(Michelle) Lomond , Jeff(Sylvia) Lomond, Terry(Janet) Osmond nieces Jennifer, Jeannette, Nadine and nephews Josh and Mitchell and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and friends. Mike loved hunting, fishing, all things outdoors, camping, riding his motorbike and spending time with his family and friends when not deployed as serving member of the Canadian Forces, Military Police Branch for 27 years.
Visitation took place on Monday evening from 7-9 pm and continued on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at St. Sylvester's Roman Catholic Church in South Branch from where the mass of Christian Burial took place on Wednesday September 7, 10 am officiated by Father Lee Lainey, interment followed at St. Sylvester's Roman Catholic cemetery.
Upon returning home the family will have a service of remembrance for friends and colleagues, that will be held on 24 Sept 2016 at St. John Vianney Church, 4 Beaverbank Rd, Lower Sackville, NS.
The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and all Palliative Care staff of the QEII, VG Site, also the staff of CFB Halifax Stadacona Hospital, JPSU Unit, Military Police Unit and Veterans Affairs Canada Halifax Area Office for their exceptional care, kindness and support shown to the family during this time. July 19, 1946 - September 7, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ada Marie Strickland (nee Pink) announces her sudden passing on Wednesday September 7, at her family residence in Harbour Le Cou at the age of 70 years. Ada was the daughter of the late George and Sarah Pink. Besides her parents she was also predeceased by her brother Randell (Claris) Pink, sisters; Carrie (Fred) Purcell, Violet (George) Vardy. Mother in law Jessica Strickland Wells, father in law Victor Strickland, nephew Robert Purcell. She leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories her devoted husband Albert of 52 years. A proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Ada will also be fondly remembered by her children Stephen (Marlene) Strickland of Nova Scotia, Robert (Maud) Strickland of New Brunswick, grandchildren; Amanda (Josh), Jessica (Josh), Danielle, Jessie, great grandchildren Breanna and Lilly. She will also be sadly missed by her nieces; Janice Baker, Wanda Bailey, nephew Ross (Henrietta) Purcell and a large circle of cousins, extended family and many friends. Visitation took place on Friday and Saturday at St. Michael's And All Angels Anglican Church in Rose Blanche, from where the service took place on Sunday September 11, 2 pm officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Petten, interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Flowers will be graciously accepted.
