CORMIER, Leo Anthony
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leo Cormier announce his peaceful passing, surrounded by his loving family at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at the age of 86 years. He leaves to mourn his wife of 60 years, Margaret (MacArthur), 9 children: Gerard (Melissa), Calvin (Patricia), Karen Farrell (Brian), Danny (Maureen), Patricia O'Farrell (Stan), Loretta Johnson (Ernie), Robert (Sharon), Bernard (Brenda), Gordon (Karen). 23 Grandchildren: Tracy, Darryl, Brooklyn, Dean, Darren, Shannon, Sheryl, Melissa, Travis, Robert, Shawn, Erin, Malory, Cecil, Robyn, Annette, Shane, Tiffany, Randell, Randall, Bradey, Brittany, Victoria. 10 Great grandchildren: Tanner, Janelle, Harris, Maren, Kian, Rylan, Ethan, Logan, Cierra, Madden. He also leaves to mourn his sisters Ann Compton and (Nanny) Mary MacIsaac. Brothers in law: Sears (Marie) MacArthur, Dan (Elizabeth) MacArthur, and Martin (Rhoda) MacArthur. He was predeceased by his parents George (1978), and Lucy (1983), brothers Gerard (1951), and William (1958), sisters Jean (1990), and Teresa (2006). Visitation will take place on Tuesday September 4, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Upper Ferry. The funeral mass will take place on Wednesday September 5, 11 AM at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, officiated by Father Edward Terry. Cremation will follow with interment to take place at a later date. To honor his love of gardening, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations can be made in his name to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements were in the care of East Haven Funeral Home,. FUDGE, Samuel Robert
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Samuel Fudge announce his passing on Monday, September 3rd, 2012 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 83 years. Sam worked in the Lumberwoods for 12 years, then was the lighthouse keeper at Penguin Islands for 31 years; he also fished in an open boat for many years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories is his wife of 60 years, June (nee Durnford); children: Maisie Marsden (Martin), Pasadena, Austin (Audrey) Fudge and Linda Fudge (Ronald), Francois; grandchildren: Shelley and Robert (Julie) Marsden, Kimberley and Darren Fudge, Michael (Kendra), Melinda and Sherry Fudge; great grandchildren: Brenna and Jade; sister: Jessie Oxford and brothers: Leslie (Caroline) Fudge and John (Stella) Fudge; brother-in-law: Rueben Durnford; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Maggie Fudge. Visitation took place from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Francois on Wednesday evening and Thursday, from where the funeral service was held on Friday, September 7th at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Rosemary Colbourne officiating. HATCHER, Alice Marie
September 7, 1944 - September 29, 2012
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alice Marie Hatcher announces her sudden passing on Saturday September 29th, at the Dr. Charles L. Legrow Center at the age of 68 years. Born at Rose Blanche, Marie was the wife of the late William Hatcher and daughter of the late Charles and Lillian (Taylor) Lights. She was also predeceased by brothers Douglas and Cecil, baby sister Daphne. She leaves to mourn her loving daughter Diane (David) Herritt Port aux Basques, her sons Robert Hatcher (Pam) Isle aux Morts, Roger Hatcher New Brunswick, loving grandmother of Denise (John) Coady Ontario, Renee Herritt (Chris) Nova Scotia, Johnathan and Jessica Mauger Isle aux Morts. She will also be sadly missed by brothers James Taylor (Mary Jane) St. John's, John Lights (Diane) St. John's, Stanley Lights St. John's, Henry Lights Ontario, Gary Lights (Lita) Ontario, Harry Lights Ontario, Calvin Lights (Rosie) New Brunswick, Ross Lights Ottawa. Her loving sisters Geraldine Voutier Port aux Basques, Kathleen English (Andrew) Ontario, Clara Lights (Roger) New Brunswick as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a large circle of friends. Visitation took place on Sunday and Monday at St. Micheal's and All Angel's Anglican Church, Rose Blanche. Funeral services took place on Wednesday Oct. 3, 2 PM at St. Micheal's and All Angel's Anglican Church officiated by Rev. LAWRENCE, Gerald Wayne
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerald Wayne Lawrence announces his passing on Friday September 28 at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 65 years. Gerald was predeceased by his father Willis Lawrence in 1954, mother Nellie Lawrence in 2008 and brother Earl Lawrence in 1973. Left to mourn with many fond and precious memories are his loving and devoted wife Ethel (nee Griffiths) of 36 years. Only daughter Ada (Ward) Isle aux Morts, grandchildren Neil, Kassidy and Joshua, sister Ada (Bill) Fox Creek AB, brothers Willis (Viola) Rose Blanche, Bill (Beatrice) Isle aux Morts, Walter of Burnt Islands and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation took place on Saturday and Sunday at St. George's Anglican Church, Burnt Islands. Funeral services took place on Monday Oct. 1, 2 PM at St. George's Anglican Church officiated by Rev. MacDONALD, Sr., Wallace

DECEMBER 26, 1925 - SEPTEMBER 29, 2012

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Wallace MacDonald Sr. announce his passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville, NL on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the age of 86 years. He leaves to mourn his children: Evelyn (George) Cox, Wallace (Bonnie), Robert (Diane), Gladys Bowles, Elaine (Sidney) Pink, Beulah (Kevin) Strickland, Connie (George) Durnford, Sharon (Jerry) Durnford, Minnie (Jesse) Sibley; 28 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; sister Minnie (Thomas) Giles; brother-in-law Edward Durnford and a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas & Catherine MacDonald;wife Julia Isabel; son Garland; brothers: Clarence, George, Randel, William, Archibald. Visitation took place from the family residence in Francois on Tuesdat, October 2, 2012. The funeral service took place from St. Simon & St. Jude Anglican Church in Francois on Wednesday, Octiober 3, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Canon Dawn Barrett officiating. Internmet followed at the Anglican Cemetary. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciosly accepted or donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. MATTHEWS, Ambrose Colley
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ambrose Colley Matthews announces his passing on Sunday, September 9th, 2012 at Dr. Charles L. Legrow Health Centre at the age of 79. He was the son the late Alex and Ethel Matthews. He was predeceased by brother Stanley, brother-in-law Bob Bently and sister-in-law Ruby Johnstone. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 55 years, Claudine; daughter Cathy (Jory); son Mike; grandchildren: Dayna and Brett; brothers: Rex (Clara) and Don (Sheila); sister: Harriett; brother-in-law: Eric (Edna); sisters-in-law: Marie (Ray) and Georgina (Gary). A loving husband and a wonderful father, he retired from Canadian National Railway, had a passion for woodworking and relaxing at the cabin. Visitation took place on Monday, 7-9 and Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Fillatre's Funeral Home. Funeral service took place at St. James Anglican Church, Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 2:00 p.m, officiated by Rev. Hannah Dicks, interment followed at the Anglican cemetery. McDERMOTT, Stanley William
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Stanley William McDermott announces his passing on Saturday September 1, at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 89 years. Born at West Point, Stanley was the son of the late Peter and Lydia McDermott. He was also predeceased by his brothers and sisters; Gifford, Gordon, Esther, Gertie, Annie, Dora, Hilda, Mabel, Selena, Louise and special friends Willis and Mary. Left to mourn with many fond memories of a loving Father, grandfather, uncle, and friend are: Jane (Terry) Fancy, Rodney (Minnie) Francis, Bill (Joanne) Francis, Pauline (Morley) Pardy, Eric (Louise) Francis, Mylita Francis (Bob Parsons), Roger, Rowena and Zachary. In laws Reg Anderson, Julie Francis, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many special friends. Visitation took place on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home. Passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 29th, 2012, at the Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques, Ada Parsons at the age of 79 years. Predeceased by the love of her life of 55 years, Ralph Parsons; their loving son, Melvin; her parents: Mary and William Anderson; sister: Martha Rose; brother: Jack and her wonderful grandson Devin Parsons. Leaving to mourn her family: Roy (Winnie), Port Aux Basques, Alex (Lisa), Eastern Passage, NS, Jackie (Elizabeth), Rose Blanche, Rosanna (Coley), Eastern Passage, NS and Mark (Vanessa), Sackville, NS; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; brothers: Reuben (Margaret), Andrew (Betty), Daniel (Carolyn) and sister Frances (Wilfred Lemoine). She leaves a large and loving circle of family and friends. Visitation took place at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican in Rose Blanche from where the funeral service took place on Tuesday, October 2nd at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Kris Gosse officiated. RITCHIE, Frank Clement
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Frank Ritchie announces his passing on Monday September 10, 2012 at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center in Port aux Basques, at the age of 93 years. Born at Chipman New Brunswick, Frank was the son of the late William and Effie (nee Wallace) Ritchie. He was also predeceased by his first wife Mary Hannah in 1994, and his second wife Mary Ellen (Eileen Terris) in 2005. Brothers: Eldon (Lillian), Otis (Florence), Vaughn. Sisters: Violet (Charles) Snowdon, Laura (Earl) Nelson, Audrey (Ken) Duncan. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his children; Darlyn (Brian) Watkins, Dartmouth NS, Rev. Patricia Ritchie Port aux Basques NL, grandson Jason (Mary) Watkins Toronto ON, granddaughter Kyla Watkins Dartmouth NS, great granddaughter Chloe Watkins Toronto ON. Stepchildren; Robert (Joey) Ottawa ON, Kevin (Paulette) Lakeville NB, Allana, Moncton NB, sister in law Dorothy Ritchie, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many friends. Frank was a WW II veteran and a 50 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was the proud owner of Ritchie's Variety in Moncton from 1969 - 1976, he also served as a fire fighter with the city of Moncton for 20 years. He was an avid fan of wrestling and harness racing and his pride and joy was his race horse "Dainty May". Visitation took place on Wednesday from 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques. Visitation continued at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home in Moncton NB on Thursday from 7-9 PM, from where the funeral service took place on Friday September 14 at 1:30 PM. Interment followed at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens, Moncton. Donations in memory of Frank may be made to a charity of one's choice. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Vida Skinner (nee Harvey) announces her passing on Sunday September 16, at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 85 years. Born at Isle aux Morts, Vida was the daughter of the late James and Jessie Harvey. She was also predeceased by her husband Joshua, and many brothers and sisters. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her children: Berkley (Eileen) Halifax NS, Joshua Jr. (Katie) Isle aux Morts, Ida (Don) Meade Margaree, Winnifred (Jimmy) Hardy Port aux Basques, Sheila (Frank Morris) Cape Ray, Darlene (Mike) LeRiche, Kathleen (Junior) McNeil, Maisie Skinner all of Port aux Basques. 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, sisters Sadie Organ Isle aux Morts, Winnifred Rathburn Saint John NB, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many friends. Visitation took place on Monday and Tuesday at Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle aux Morts. Funeral services took place on Wednesday September 19, 2 PM at Holy Spirit Anglican Church, officiated by Rev. Kriss Gosse. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. WHITE, Claude
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Claude White announce his passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Wednesday, September 5th, 2012 at the age of 85 years. Claude was born on March 14, 1927 on Caines Island, Rose Blanche. Son of the late Thomas and Violet White. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his sister: Annie Hardy, Port Aux Basques; nieces: Violet Clarke (Russell), Rita Currie, Mary Clarke and Loretta Hatcher, all of Rose Blanche; Joyce Wells (Fred), Burgeo; nephews: Bill Hatcher (Flossie), Gerald Hardy (Mary), Rose Blanche, and John Hardy (Yvonne), Port Aux Basques. Predeceased by his sister, Rita Blanche Hatcher; brothers-in-law: Robert Hatcher, John Hardy and nephew Clifford Hardy. Friends visit St. Michael's Anglican Church, Rose Blanche on Wednesday and Thursday from where the funeral service was held on Saturday, September 8th at 11: A.M Reverend Gosse officiating.
