NATHAN JAMES LOMOND
May 10,1914- September 6, 2008

It is with deep sadness that we the family of the late Nathan James Lomond announce his passing on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008 at his residence in Grand Bay at the age of 94 years. Born at Grand Bay he was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine Mary Lomond. He is predeceased by his brothers Stanley Lomond, Walter Lomond and Andrew Lomond, sisters Maude Gillam and Elizabeth Buttery. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories long time friend Maude Lomond of Grand Bay, brother Russell (Pearl) Lomond of Grand Bay, he will be sadly missed by Nina (John) Lomond and family of Grand Bay, Rena Short and family of Grand Bay, Effie Morris and family of Rushoon, Nfld., his worker Tracey Osmond and a large circle of nieces, nephews, their families and many friends. Visitation took place on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Grand Bay, officiated by Rev. George Critchell. Interment followed at St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery, Grand Bay Road. Funeral arrangements are in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300. www.easthavenfuneralhome.com

M. BRUCE BATTISTE
The family of the late M. Bruce Battiste sadly announce his passing on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008 at the age of 52 in Clarenville, Nfld. He was predeceased by his father Gerald in 1998 and brother Sidney in 2007. He was predeceased by his parents-in-law Albert and Vivian Ryan. He leaves to mourn his wife Ruby (nee Ryan), mother Maggie Battiste, brothers Paul, (Crystal), Guy (Paula) and Michael, sisters Barbara Mesa, Elaine Fraser (Bob), Julia Ingram (Rob) and Kimberly Battiste. He also leaves to mourn his brothers-in-law Larry Ryan (Gloria) and Terry Ryan (Andrea) and sisters-in-law Marilyn Smith (Ron), Gloria Ryan (Leo) and Kim Lodge (Dave) and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service was held at St. Mary's Anglican Church in Clarenville, Nfld., on Monday, Sept. 8, 2008.

CAROLINE LUEDEE
May 12th, 1916 - September 7th, 2008

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Carrie Luedee announce her passing on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, at the age of 92 years. Born at St. Alban's, Nfld., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Bridget House. She was predeceased by her husband Louis, daughter Bride and son Gerard. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories, six daughters and three sons; Genevive (Dave), Elizabeth, Wilfred (Brenda), Bob (Sally), Lucy (Donald), Kevin (Beulah), Mary (Bob), Terri and Helen (Ale), sisters Rosaline and Elizabeth, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. The family received friends at the Church of the Precious Blood in St. Andrew's on Sept. 8 and 9 from where the funeral mass took place on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 11 a.m. officiated by Father Lee Lainey. Interment followed at Precious Blood Cemetery, St. Andrew's. Funeral arrangements are in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300. www.easthavenfuneralhome.com

DOROTHY AGNES AUCOIN
August 26, 1914 - September 8 2008

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dorothy AuCoin announce her passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center on Monday, Sept. 8, 2008 at the age of 94 years. Born at Upper Ferry she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (nee Delaney) Maclsaac. She was predeceased by her husband William in 1970, daughter Joan in 1999 and her infant son Michael. She leaves to mourn with loving memories her seven sons, Gordon (Doreen), Joe (Ruby), Ron (Shirley), Kevin (Jane), Lennie (Dianne), Frank (Sheila) and Mike (France); two daughters, Dianne (Randy) Walsh and Sister Verna AuCoin, 32 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Mary Maclsaac, Elizabeth (Lizzie) White and a large circle of relatives and friends. Visitation took place on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Church of the Precious Blood in St. Andrew's. Funeral mass took place on Thursday, Sept. 11, 10:30 a.m. at Church Of The Precious Blood, officiated by Father Lee Lainey. Interment followed at St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Cemetery. LORNE MURRAY GALE
Aug. 27,1938 - Sept. 14, 2008

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lorne M. Gale announce his passing on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008 at the Health Sciences Center in St. John's at the age of 70 years. Born at Port aux Basques he was the son of the late George and Jane Gale. He was predeceased by his brothers, George, Jerome, Eugene and Fred and sisters-in-law, Susan, Jessie and Cedilla. He leaves to mourn with fond memories his loving family: wife, Joan of 50 years marriage; son, Peter (Alice) Leduc, Alta.; daughter, Mia (Clifton) Batt Fort McMurray, Alta.; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Eileen Batt, Casey Brandon Batt, Clifton Roland Batt Jr., and Joshua Lome Gale; brothers, Jack Lower Sackville, N.S., and Carl (Bertha) Port aux Basques; sister, Yvonne (John) Musseau Vernon, B.C., and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation took place on Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral service took place on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Grand Bay, officiated by Rev. Clayton Billard and Rev. George Critchell, which was followed by cremation. It is with great sadness that the family of the late George W. Anderson announce his passing on Monday, Sept.15, 2008 at Dr. .Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques at the age of 86 years. Born in Burgeo, he was the son of the late Henry and Maud Anderson. He was predeceased by brothers, Fred, Hubert and Martin. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his family, wife, Doris of 50 years marriage; his children: Marcella (Elias) Kendell, Codroy, Margaret (Jerry), White Kingston, Ont, Dianne (Robert) Kettle, Codroy, Leo and Leonard, both of Codroy; grandchildren, Barbara, Marilyn, Nora, Sherry, Shelene, Daniel, Justin and Madison; great-grandchildren, Stacey, David, Maisey, Bryston, Matthew, and Colby: sister, Susie Gale, Port Blandford, NL, brother, Joseph of Port aux Basques and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation took place on Tuesday and Wednesday at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Codroy. Funeral service took place on Thursday, Sept. 18, 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, officiated by Rev. George Critchell, which was followed by cremation: Internment to be announced at a later date. JUANITA JANE SKINNER
Oct. 11, 1947 - Sept. 20, 2008

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Juanita J. Skinner announce her passing on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center at the age of 60 years. Born in Burnt Islands she was the daughter of the late John and Lillian Keeping. She is predeceased by her brothers Angus Keeping, James Keeping and Ralph Keeping; mother and father-in-law Arthur and Evelyn Skinner; and brother-in-law, Ricky Skinner. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her loving family: husband Donald of 43 years marriage; children, Ricky (Penny), St. John's; Trudy (Perry) Keeping and Michelle (Paul) Barter, all Port aux Basques; grandchildren, Julia Keeping, Mackenzie Skinner and Joshua Skinner; brothers, George (Cynthia) Keeping, Brigus, Hughie (Geraldine) Keeping, Burnt Islands and Fred (Elsie) Keeping, Port aux Basques; sisters, Bessie (Jack) Munden, Burnt Islands and Selina Priddle, Isle aux Morts; brother-in-law, Roger (Ethel) Skinner, Pasadena; sister-in-law, Mariene Skinner (Kevin Macarthy), New Minas, N.S. and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many close friends. Visitation took place on Sunday and Monday at Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle aux Morts. Funeral services took place at Holy Spirit Anglican Church on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 2 p.m., officiated by Rev. Duncan Granter. Internment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Rd.
