It is with great sadness that the family of the late Marjorie
I. Collier announces her passing on Saturday, September
1, 2007 at Dr. Charles LeGrow
Health Center in Port aux Basques, at the age of 63 years. Marjorie was
the daughter of the late James and Jessie Parsons of Rose Blanche, she
is also predeceased by her sister, Mary; brother, Leo; and son, Terrance;
sisters-in-law, Joycie Slade and Edna Hardy. She leaves to mourn with
fond and precious memories her husband, Gerald of Port aux Basques; daughters,
Ann (Hank) Lawrence of Alberta and Lorice (Derick O’Quinn) of Port
aux Basques; sons, Scott (Tanya) of Nova Scotia and John (Diane) of Ontario;
as well as five grandchildren; brothers, Roddick (Elsie) Parsons of Port
aux Basques, Lewis (Catheline) Parsons of Rose Blanche, Cecil (Dorothy)
Parsons of Rose Blanche and Carl Parsons of Burgeo; sisters, Ada Spencer
of Halifax, Mildred (Ben) Osmond of Port aux Basques, Geraldine (Harvey)
Enwood of Burnt Islands and Sheila Chaulk of Port aux Basques; sisters-in-law,
Gloria Parsons of Port aux Basques, Loretta (Leander) Gillard of Ontario,
Bessie Price of Washington, Cassie Grandy of Halifax and Marjorie Billard
of North Sydney; brothers-in-law, Wesley (Alice) Collier of Rose Blanche,

many friends. Visitation took place on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at
East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Tuesday, September
4, 2 p.m. at St. James Anglican Church, Channel officiated by Rev. Hugh
Fudge. Interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill.

ANDERSON, Gerald G.
June 28, 1929 - September 7, 2007
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerald G.
Anderson announces his passing on Friday, September
7, 2007 at the Dr. Charles
LeGrow Health Center in Port aux Basques at the age of 78 years. Gerald
was the son of the late Arthur and Sarah Anderson of Port aux Basques.
He is also predeceased by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Albert
and Elsie Read; his brother, Ronald Anderson; sisters-in-law, Clara Rose,
Gertie Farrell and Mildred Read; brothers-in-law, Wallace Rose, George
Piccott, Ralph Farrell and Maxwell Read. He leaves to mourn with fond
and precious memories his loving wife of 50 years, Lorraine of Port aux
Basques; son, Arthur (Sharon) Anderson, Cape Ray; and daughter Sharon
(Dave) Standing, Port aux Basques; grandchildren, Tanya (Jamie) Pope,
Red Deer, Alberta; Arthena Anderson and Melissa Anderson, both of Port
aux Basques and Denise (Graham) Standing, Lloydminster, Alberta; great-grandchildren
Blake Pope, Shannon Anderson, Angel and Jessica McDonald; brothers, Harry
Anderson, Lloyd Anderson, both of Port Aux Basques and James Anderson

Church, Channel. Officiated by Rev. Patricia Ritchie. Interment followed

ROSE, Thomas
November 23, 1918 - September 9, 2007
Passed peacefully away on Sunday, September 9th, 2007 at
Calder Health Centre in Burgeo, Thomas Rose, in his
88th year. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Ann and two
grandsons: Norman Rose and Gary Young. Leaving to mourn sons: Norman
(Mary), Gerald (Marie), Reginald (Lucy), Benjamin (Jody), Thomas (Nada)
and Garfield; daughters: Sarah Jane Young (Joshua), Beatrice Young (Jacob),
Mary Priddle (John), Minnie Young (Garfield), Susanna Young (Calvin),
Myrtle Barter (Hiram), Louise McNamara (Louis), Marilyn Lushman (Wallace)
and Frances Bateman (Clifford); 40 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren;
two great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Norman Warren (Louise)
and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements were
entrusted to Fillatre’s
Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing. The Funeral Service took place at
Transfiguration Church, Grey River on Wednesday, September 12th at 2:00
p.m. Rev. George Childs officiating.

Hilliard announces his sudden passing on Sunday, September
16th at the age of

Donaldson); five cherished and loving grandchildren, Ryan and Gwendolyn

Hilliard); special nieces, Margaret (Jerry White), Marcella (Elias Kendell);
his very special girl, Jeannie (Robin and Chase - Little Garge); numerous

Hilliard’s Personal Care Home; sisters and brothers-in-law, William

2 p.m. Officiated by Rev. E. Smith. Interment followed at Holy Trinity

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Fredrick
G. Musseau announces his passing on Wednesday, September
19, 2007 at his residence
in Port aux Basques. Fredrick was the son of the late Elizabeth (Musseau)
Matthews, Port aux Basques. He is also predeceased by his sister, Rosie
Musseau; aunt Maria Musseau; brother-in-law, Owen Noseworthy; and nephew,
Jason Noseworthy. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories
his sister, Mary Noseworthy, Port aux Basques; niece, Michelle (Craig)
Coleman, Cape Ray; cousins, Stewart Musseau, Port aux Basques and Kay
Cameron, New Glasgow, NS; great-nephew, Lenny Green, Gander; great-niece,

Passed peacefully away on September 22, 2007 at Calder
Health Centre Burgeo, John Henry Warren in his 84th year.
He is predeceased by his mother, Susanna Warren; his father, William
Warren; his brother, Jacob Warren and his two sisters, Annie Barter and
Jeffie F. Warren. Leaving to mourn his wife of 59 years, Hannah Jane
Warren; daughters, Annie (Douglas), Susan (Terrance), Mary Ann (Rodney),
Wanda (Calvin) and Jessie; sons, George (Pheobe), Ephraim (Blanche),
Nathan (Evelyn), Jacob (Dianne), Harvey (Kelly), and Wilson (Tina), 22
grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives
and friends. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s
Funeral Home, Corner Brook and the Funeral services took place at Transfiguration
Church, Grey River, on September 26, 2007 at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev.

Hazel Simms. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories, his

GALE, Arthur
1914 - 2007
It is with regrets we announce the passing of our Dad, Arthur
Gale, formerly
of Millville, Codroy Valley, at Edmonton, AB, on September 29,
2007 four
days prior to his 93rd birthday. Dad served in Scotland with the forestry
unit during WWII. There he met the love of his life, Helen (Elma) Copland
who predeceased him. Also predeceased by son, Tom (Leo); grandson, Duane
Moore; and great-granddaughter, Allison. Arthur is survived by 11 children,
David (Shelia), Adeline (Bernard), Emma (Ron), John, Mary (Gerard), Dan
(Marg), Martha (Jim), Catherine (Dave), Ellen (Dave), Loretta (Brent)
and Hughie (Dale); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces,
nephews and cousins; also two surviving sisters, Loretta Bauer and Rose
Gale, Sydney, NS; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Gale, Nora Gale and Bess Raffin;
and brother-in-law, James Copland. Following cremation, a memorial service
took place Oct. 3, 2007 in Edmonton, AB.

the age of 63 years. James was the son of the late Joseph and Eliza Jane
