TUFTS, Leslie Raymond
August 14, 1927 - September 1, 2005

Passed away peacefully at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre on Thursday, September 1, 2005 with family at his side, Leslie Raymond Tufts at the age of 78 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his wife, Florence of 51 years; children, Queenie (Terrence) LaVallee, Labrador City, NL, Helen (Wade) Bateman, Port aux Basques, NL, Margaret (Danny) Strickland, Lower Sackville, NS, John Lower Sackville, NS, Linda Winnipeg, MA, Ernie (Heather) Hopewell, New Glasgow, NS, Cindy (Carl) Duval Lawrence Town, NS, Classie, Port aux Basques, NL, Donnie (Janice) Lower Sackville, NS, 18 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, George and Hannah Tufts, son Raymond, daughter Classie, brothers Wilburn, Clayton and Roy; sisters Dorothy, Bessie and Myrtle, father and mother-in-law Jonathan and Bertha Harris; Brothers-in-law, Ernest and Matthew Harries, Ken Munden and Raymond Hardy. Visitation took place from Fillatre's Funeral Home Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held on Sunday, September 4, 2005 at 2 p.m. from Wesley United Church with Rev. Patricia Ritchie officiating. Interment followed at Wesley United Cemetery. The family guest book may be signed thorough our website www.fillatre.ca

SPENCER, Catherine E.
Catherine E. Spencer
, 43 of the Fr. J. Angus MacDonald Centre, Moncton, NB passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Friday, September 9, 2005. Born in Port aux Basques, NL, on April 1, 1962, she was the daughter of Ross Spencer and Shirley (White) Brace and step-father, Herb Brace. She is survived by her daughter, Krista Dawn Kettle of Halifax; sisters, Donna Farrell (Rick) of Port aux Basques, NL, Linda Schroh (Greg) of Banff, AB, Sherry Lee Wallace (Grant) of Riverview; brothers, Garry Spencer (Valerie) of Saint John, NB, Herb Spencer (Sharon) of Cambridge ON, Pat Spencer (Elaine) of Riverview; grandchildren, Ethan and Paris; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Also surviving are special friends, Papa-Joe and Jan. She was predeceased by a step-sister, Marie Lockhart. There was no visitation prior to the Funeral Service that was held in the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at 2 p.m. Reverend Rufus Onyewuchi officiating. Interment Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.

WHITE, Naomi
1932 - 2005

Passed away peacefully at the Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre on Friday, September 16, 2005 Naomi White of Port aux Basques at the age of 73 years. Born at Burgeo, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Bertha Jane Anderson. She was predeceased by her son, Lawrence White; son-in-law, Garland Strickland; sister, Elsie Keeping; step-brothers, Jim Parsons and Sam Anderson. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband, Morgan White, of 54 years marriage; children, Vivian Strickland (Paul), Margaret Jones, Kathleen (Lenny) Deveau, Harold (Krista), all of Halifax, NS, Morgan (Debbie) Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, Stephen, Vancouver, BC and Carolann (Ted) Skeard of Port aux Basques; eight grandsons, five granddaughters and four great-grandsons; brother, Lawrence (Jane) Anderson; brother-in-law, Herbert Keeping; sister-in-law, Shirley Wadden all of Port aux Basques, and a large circle of nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Visitation took place on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral service took place on Monday, September 19, 2005 2 p.m. at the Salvation Army Citadel, Grand Bay, officiated by Captain's Kent and Dena Hepditch. Interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Trans Canada Highway. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.

GREEN, William (Bill)
1925-2005

Passed away peacefully at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Thursday, September 22, 2005, William L. Green of Port aux Basques at the age of 80 years. Born at Greens Pond, Bonavista Bay, he was the son of the late Beatrice and Ernest Green. Bill leaves to mourn his loving wife, Hilda of 56 years marriage; and son, Wayne (Rhonda) all of Port aux Basques; sisters, Jan Burry of Downview, ON, and Frances (Howard) Francis of Kelowna, BC; sisters-in-law, Mildred (Don) Hann, Dulcie (Hubert) Chaulk of Port aux Basques, Elizabeth Kendall of Dartmouth, Ruth (Thomas) Andrews of Barry, ON; brothers-in-law, Eric (Mae) Lomond, Soloman (Tryphenia) Lomond of Stephenville, Howard (Alice) Lomond of Corner Brook, Edgar (Joyce) Lomond, Harold (Eileen) Lomond of Port aux Basques and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Beatrice and Ernest Green; sister-in-law, Lorice Lomond; brothers-in-law, Don Burry and Edward Kendall. Visitation took place on Friday 7-9 p.m., Saturday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2005 at St. James' Anglican Church officiated by Rev. Hugh Fudge. Interment followed at St. James' Cemetery Barachois Hill. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. James' Anglican Church Window Fund. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques 695-2300.

LERICHE, Wilson Eli
July 7, 1949 - Sept. 23, 2005

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Wilson LeRiche announce his sudden passing on Friday, September 23, 2005 in his 56th year. He leaves to mourn with fond memories son, Henry Ashford (Wendy); brothers, Jim (Isabel), Don (Shirley); sisters, Elizabeth Green, Lorena (Charles) Anderson, Rose (Owen) Pike; sister-in-law, Kay LeRiche; grandchildren, Jessica, and Jaylen, 26 nieces and nephews, 27 great-nieces and nephews, three great great nieces as well as a large circle of special friends. He is predeceased by his parents, John and Myrtle (nee Anderson) LeRiche; sister, Dorothy Anderson and brother-in-law, Morgan Anderson. Visitation took place from Fillatre's Funeral Home, Saturday, 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held on Monday, September 26 at 2 p.m. from St. James' Anglican Church with Rev.
