ANDERSON, Charles Henry
(July 10, 1931 - October 30, 2014)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Charles Anderson announces his peaceful passing on Thursday October 30, at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 83 years. Born in Port aux Basques, Charles was the son of the late John and Emmaline Anderson. He was also predeceased by his sister Jessie Buttery, father and mother in law John and Myrtle LeRiche. Leaving to mourn with many fond and precious memories his devoted wife Lorena of 63 years. Loving father of John Port aux Basques, Dorothy (Lindsay) Isle aux Morts, James (Gladys) Nova Scotia, Elaine (Will) McDougall's, Debbie (Mickey) Codroy Valley, Terry (Vanda), Charlene (Dwight) all of Port aux Basques, son in law John MacArthur Codroy Valley. Grandchildren; Darren, Logan, Bradley, Lucas, Matthew, Ethan, Kaitlyn, Natalie, 10 great grandchildren. He will forever remain in the hearts of his brothers John (Geraldine) Anderson, Corwin (Nora) Anderson. Sister and brother in laws; Rose (Owen) Pike, Jim LeRiche, Shirley LeRiche, Fred Buttery and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends including his close friends who celebrated his life through all the years he spent at the Port aux Basques Senior's Club and his coworkers with whom he worked for 37 years before retiring from Marine Atlantic. Visitation took place on Friday and Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Sunday November 2, 2 PM at St. James Anglican Church, Channel officiated by Canon Hannah Dicks, interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Memorial donations can be made to the Dialysis Unit at Legrow Health Center. ANDERSON, Thomas William
age 62 years of Dartmouth died October 29, 2014 at Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Channel-Port aux Basque, Newfoundland he was a son of the late Basil and Elsie (Barnes) Anderson. He was a member of Seafarers International Union from where he retired. He is survived by his wife the former Rita Gillis, daughter Tanya Billard (Andy), grandsons Jonathon and Matthew, a sister Linda, brothers George, Rick, Wally and Terry. He was predeceased by a sister Maxine, brothers Harry, Brian and Hubert. Cremation has taken place. No service by request. Arrangements entrusted to Dartmouth Funeral home, Queen Street. BUCKLAND, Lee Russell
September 16, 1980 - October 3, 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of that late Lee Buckland announces his sudden passing on Friday, October 3, 2014. Lee is the son of David Buckland and Karen Fiander. He leaves to mourn with loving and precious memories, his loving wife of 18 years, Trina (nee Durnford), children, Andrew, Victoria and Liam, brother, Bruce (Jody) and sister, Alexis, grandmother, Katherine Fiander, mother and father in law, Clayton and Joan Durnford, sisters and brothers in laws, Elaine (Glen) Hatcher, Charlaine (Andrew) Schuhmann, many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends. He was predeceased by infant daughter, Emily, grandparents, Annie and John Buckland and Eric Fiander. In keeping with Lee's wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of Lee's life will be held on Thursday, October 9 at 10 a.m. from St. Michael's and All Angels Church in Rose Blanche with Rev. Jeffery Petten officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery. In Lee's memory donations may be made graciously to the family. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Philip Courtney announces his passing on Monday October 20, at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 78 years. Born at Burnt Islands, Philip was the son of the late Charles and Jane Courtney. He was also predeceased by his brother James and sister Emma Jane. He leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories his wife Charlotte of 41 years. His Children; Clyde (Joyce) Lapoile, Joanne (Bill) Francis Port aux Basques, Gary (Denise) Rose Blanche, Todd (Sandi) Old Perlican NL, grandchildren; Marina, Christopher, Marigold, Gerard, Angie, Martin, Courtney, Blake, Reid, 7 great grandchildren, sisters Catherine (Gerald) Hatcher Rose Blanche, Minnie Hatcher Burnt Islands and a large circle of extended family and many friends. Passed away peacefully at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, Ruth Edwards in her 89th year. She was the daughter of the late Ward and Rose (nee Anderson) Harris. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her children, sons: Wayne (Daphne), Gerald (Maxine), Rick (Wanda); daughters: Linda Horwood (George), Pauline Kearley (Randy); 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and one great greatgranddaughter, brother, John Harris (Jessie); sisters, Katherine Fiander, Nora Harris, Jean Graham and Lena Symes, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Edwards, twins sons: Barry and Gary, brother, Reginald Harris and sister, Mariha Hickey. Beside her parents the late James & Gertrude (nee: Peckford) Way, she was predeceased by parents in law Wilson and Dolly Kettle, brother Edgar, sister Edna and brother in law Guy Annable. She leaves with fond and loving memories her husband Stuart, brother Fred Way and sister Viola Annable both of St. Johns, brothers in law James MacIsaac, St Andrews, Melvin (Carolyn) Kettle, St Johns, Nelson (Florence) Kettle Port Aux Basques, Sister in Law Sheila (Doug) Lomond, Port Aux Basques as well a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. RICHARDS, Sarah Cedella
1946-2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sarah Richards announce her passing on Thursday, October 30, 2014 from Charles LeGrow Health Centre with her loving family by her side at the age of 68. She was born in Port-aux-Basques, NL and was the daughter of the late Louis and Hilda (Durnford) Greene. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband, Eric Richards of 45 years, daughter, Tracy (Bob) Warren, Dartmouth, NS, her pride and joy her grandson, Zackery Warren, brothers, Tony (Madonna) Greene, Jim (Lillian) Greene, Eric (Michelle) Greene and Gerald (Annette) Durnford, nieces and nephews, Jamie, Stacy, Katrina, Jason, Mitchell and Brad; and a wide circle of friends. Sarah was predeceased by her mother and father in law, William and Maud Richards and brother-in-law, George Richards. In keeping with Sarah’s wishes, there will be no visitation. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sarah Margaret Seymour announce her passing on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the Calder Health Care Centre in Burgeo at the age of 61 years. Friends may visit Faith United Church in Burgeo Friday Evening and Saturday from where the funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 26 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Harry Oake officiating. Interment to follow at the Burgeo Community Cemetery.

SKEARD, Lydia Myrtle
(December 3, 1924 - October 17, 2014)

Passed away peacefully at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center on Friday October 17, Lydia Myrtle Skeard at the age of 89 years. Born at Garnish NL, Myrtle was the daughter of the late William and Mary Banfield. She was also predeceased by her husband Elijah, son Wayne, grandson Paul Tobin, son in law Richard Tobin, sister Beulah Grandy. Leaving to mourn with fond and precious memories are her children; Mildred Tobin Port aux Basques, Allison (Dale) Skeard Isle aux Morts, Donna Skeard, Roger Skeard both of Port aux Basques. Loving grandmother of Shawn (Jeanette), Craig (Pam), Chris (Sonya), Kerry (Sher), Devon (Melita), granddaughter in law Barbara Tobin, 9 great grandchildren, sisters; Minnie Banfield Garnish NL, Edna Butler (John) Ontario and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Myrtle had a wonderful love for her family and a was a dedicated member of the Salvation Army in Port aux Basques for many years. She was a devoted member of the Home League and her presence will surely be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have been blessed to have Myrtle as a part of their lives. Visitation took place on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Tuesday October 21, 2 PM at the Salvation Army Citadel, Grand Bay officiated by Captain Shawn and Major Marilyn Furey. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her children, Theodore (Edith) White, Halifax, NS; Lillian White, Doyles, NL; Doris Cooper, Port-aux-Basques, NL; Raylene (Gerry) Cheriton, Sexsmith, AB; Kenneth (Elaine) White, Halifax, NS; Dayle (Claudio) Melchiorre, Halifax, NS; William (Suzanne) White, Clairmont, Ab and Curtis White (Classie Tufts), Yellowknife, NWT; grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Thorne, Burnt Islands; and Minnie Hayman, New Minas, NS; godchild, Gail Northcott and best friend, Martha Hann, many nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends.
