St. Anthony
(formerly of Isle aux Morts)
Passed away on Oct. 5, 2007, John Ball at the age of 77 years. Left with
fond and loving memories are his wife, Naomi; eight daughters, Annie,
Eleanor, Gwenyth, Norma, Darlene, Juliann, Louise and Nadine; five sons,
Eric, Merrill, Jim, Seymour and George; 28 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren;
mother-in-law, Julia Seymour; also his brother, Matthew of Fort Saint
John, BC; and sister, Vera (Dom) LeFrense, Isle aux Morts. He was predeceased
by his parents, George Lewellyn and Martha Ann Ball; brother, Gordon
of Isle aux Morts; sisters, Edith Spencer of Burgeo and Charlotte (Lottie)
Durnford of Port aux Basques; son, Matthew; grandson, Rodney John Reardon;
and son-in-law, Wilfred Reardon. Visitation took place at K. M. Fillatre
Funeral Home in St. Anthony. The Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on
Tuesday, Oct. 9 at the Salvation Army Church in St. Anthony with Majors
Raymond and Laura Janes officiating. Interment followed at the church
cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral
Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
CROUCHER (Jr.), Ralph
Burnt Islands, NL
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ralph Croucher
(Jr.) announce his sudden passing on the Great Lakes on Monday,
October 8th, 2007 in his 53rd year. Ralph
was the son of Alice and the late Ralph Croucher (Sr.) of Burnt Islands.
He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his wife Sheila of
31 years, daughters: Monica (Dwayne) and Laura (Brendon),2 grandchildren:
Cody and Samantha, mother Alice, brothers: Maxwell (Winnifred), Montford,
Calvin (Beverly) and Tony (Lori), sister Evelyn. As well as a large circle
of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Ralph, mother-in-law
Annie Mae Ransome, brothers-in-law Sidney Ransome, Raymond Ransome and
Austin Keeping. Friends may visit the family residence, Burnt Islands
on Saturday. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 14th at 2:00 PM from St. George’s
Anglican Church, Burnt Islands with Rev. Nussey officiating. Interment
to follow at the Hillside Haven Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy
flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Croucher

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Norman Russell
Graham announce his passing on Monday, October 8th at
the age of 67 years. Russell was the son of the late Gilbert Leslie
and Harriet Jane (Taylor) Graham of Harbour Le Cou. He is predeceased
by his father in 1976; mother in 1979; first wife, Marie (Blagdon)
Graham in 1981; mother-in-law, Carrie (Hannam) Blagdon in 1988; father-in-law,
George Blagdon in 1990, sisters, Elizabeth Graham of Harbour Le Cou
in 1919, Rachel (Graham) Foxwell of Niagara Falls in 1991; brothers,
Clarence Graham of Harbour Le Cou in 1920, Ralph Graham of Harbour
Le Cou in 1937, John Graham of Harbour Le Cou in 1946 and Sam Graham
of Chateauguay in 2001; brothers-in-law, Norman Stroud of North Sydney,
Samuel Foxwell of Niagara Falls and Frank Savory of Port aux Basques.
He leaves to mourn with love, admiration and precious memories his
wife, Dianne; sons, Paul (Wendy) Graham of Port aux Basques, Scott
(Denise) Graham of Corner Brook; step-children, David (Lynn) Pierce,
Joy Pierce and Glenn Pierce; grandchildren, Andrew, Emily, Susan and
Mark; step-grandchildren, Meghan, Joshua, Alicia, Nicholas and Alexis.
He also leaves mother-in-law, Mary Strickland of Port aux Basques;

7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home, Port
aux Basques. Funeral services took place on Thursday, October 11, 2 p.m.
at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Grand Bay, officiated by Rev.
Evelyn Smith. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Thomas Darcy
Reid announce his passing on Tuesday, October 9th,
2007 at the Western Memorial
Regional Hospital, Corner Brook at the age of 59 years. He was predeceased
by his parents Clement and Annie (nee Janes), sister Audrey, brother
Henry, father-in-law Richard MacIsaac, brothers-in-law Rhoady Hickey,
Ellis Parsons, Paul Shaughnessy and Andrew MacIsaac, niece Patricia Hickey.
He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 34 years Peggy, daughters: Patti
Lynn (Trevor), Krista (Ivan) and Robyn (Dustin), grandchildren: Dallas,
Jenna and Clark, brothers: Cecil (Joanne) and Hubert (Donna), sisters:

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Roger Osmond announce
his passing on Tuesday, October 9th, 2007 at the Charles L. Legrow Health
Centre, Port Aux Basques at the age of 55 years. He was predeceased by
his wife Christine, parents Walter and Mary Osmond. He leaves to mourn

Passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Dr. Charles
L. Legrow Health Centre, Port Aux Basques on Wednesday, October
10th, 2007, Julia Melissa Farrell at the age of 83 years. She was born at Channel,
NL and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Hardy) Lawrence.
She was predeceased by mother and father-in-law Arthur and Sarah Farrell,
brother James Lawrence, sisters Classie Mercer and Violet Johnsen, granddaughter
Nicole Melissa Farrell, sisters-in-law Myrtle Lawrence, Allie Lawrence,
Leona Lawrence and Milida Bragg, brothers-in-law Richard Mercer, Merle
Yarn, Jack Northridge, Lou Stegg, Alfred Johansen, Thomas Farrell, Albert

It is with great sadness that the family of the late William
Matthew Bennett announces his passing on Monday, October
15th at the age of 60
years. William was the son of the late Wilfred and Myrtle Bennett of
Port aux Basques. He is also predeceased by his brother, Bruce Bennett.
He leaves to
mourn with fond and precious memories his family: long-term girlfriend,
Geraldine Billard of Port aux Basques; son, Craig Mcneil of Oshawa, Ontario;
sister, Alma Samms of Port aux Basques; grandson, Craig Mcneil Jr.; and
grand-daughter, Jessica Mcneil both of Isles aux Morts. As well as a

August 15, 1931 - October 16, 2007
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jessie Skinner announce
her passing at her home in Burgeo on Tuesday, October 16th,
2007.
She will be sadly missed by her children: Gloria, Sheila (Gordon), Joan
(Gilbert), Calvin (Angela), Angela (Dan), of Burgeo, Glenn (Melita),
Napean, ON, Dora (Garry), Brandford, ON; daughter-in-law: Wanda, Marystown,
NL; sisters: Hannah, Francois, Martha, Burgeo, George, Burgeo, Cecil,
Stephenville Crossing; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law;

was predeceased by her parents: George and Berthania Childs, husband
George K., son Kitchner Junior, grandsons: Andrew and Robbie, and son-in-law
Don. The family will be receiving family and friends at St. John The
Evangelist Anglican Church in Burgeo beginning Wednesday evening, from
where the funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 20th at
11:00 am with Reverend Hubert Vallis officiating. Interment will follow

September 6, 1930 - October 30, 2007
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerald E.
Musseau announces his passing on Tuesday, October
30, at the age of 77 years.
Gerald was the son of the late James and Mabel Musseau of Port aux
Basques. He is also predeceased by brothers, James, Gordon and Howard;
sisters, Annie Walters, Mae Feltham and Elizabeth Musseau; sisters-in-law,
Patricia Musseau and Julia Macarthy. He leaves to mourn with fond and
precious memories his loving wife, Anna of 55 years; daughters, Irene
(Lewis) Sparkes oi Port Hawkesbury, Julia "Dood" (Albert)
Francis of Port aux Basques and Grace (Gary) Stagg of Red Deer, Alberta;
son, Gerald Jr. (Laurie) Musseau of St. Andrews; 11 grandchildren and
12 great-grandchildren; brother, Reg (Minnie) Musseau of Upper Ferry;
sister, Dollie (Ron) Doyle of St. Andrews; sisters-in-law, Pearl Musseau
of Port aux Basques, Hilda Musseau of Berwick, Nova Scolia, Josie McNeil

friends. Gerald was the founder of the Harbour Authority as well as
a member of the seniors club, he had worked in many places throughout
his life such as the early Co-op store, Pikes and Sons and Chishom's
Construction. He then started his own business, Musseau's Transport
before moving to Goose Bay to work for the Department of Transport,
He then began his career at Marine Atlantic until his retirement in
1985 after which he achieved his life long dream by opening Musseau
and Son Fish Market. Visitation took place Wednesday and Thursday at
East Haven Funeral Home Port aux Basques. Funeral services took place
on Friday November 2, 2 p.m. at St. James' Anglican Church, Channel,
officiated by Rev. Hugh Fudge, Interment followed at St, James' Anglican
Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Funeral arrangements were in the care of
