It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late (Junior) Edwin Joseph Hardy announces his passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Saturday, November 10th, 2018 at the age of 81 years. Born in North Sydney, NS, Junior was the son of the late Edwin and Theresa Hardy (nee Munden). He was also predeceased by his wife Jean Hardy (nee Porter) in 2001, daughter Heather Hardy, sister Eva (Donald) Anderson, brothers James Hardy and Wilfred Hardy, and brother-in-law Fred (Alfreda) Porter.
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving common-law partner Annie Hilliard; children Fred (Anne) Hardy of Roseneath, ON, Andrea (Calvin) Feaver of Cape Ray, NL, Jeananne (Melvin) Ryan of O'Regan's, NL, Patricia (Greg) Payne of Irishtown, NL; grandchildren Christopher Hardy (Andreea Galasiu), David Hardy (Kristen Addison), Kelly Feaver (Graham Osmond), Dustin Feaver, Emma Ryan, Abby Ryan, Lily Ryan, Julie Ryan, Hillary Kinslow, Sarah Kinslow, Jacob Payne, Beth Payne; eight (8) great-grandchildren; brothers Austin (Judy) Hardy, Melvin (Sheila) Hardy, all of Rose Blanche, NL; sisters Donna (Gary) Domine of Rose Blanche, NL, Amelia (Jim) Young of Burgeo, NL, Daphne Rose (Gerry) Berk of North Sydney, NS; sisters-in-law Lorraine (Brone) Mifflin of St. John's, NL, Lorraine Hardy of Rose Blanche, NL. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 11th, 2018 from 7-9 pm and on Monday, November 12th, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. in Port aux Basques, NL. The funeral service will be held at the St. Augustine's Anglican Church in Margaree, NL on Tuesday, November 13th, 2018 at 11 am officiated by Deacon John Billard with interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road, NL. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Junior's memory can be made to the charity of one's choice. It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Jabez Henry Herritt announces his passing on Monday November 5, at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Centre at the age of 86 years. Born in Burnt Islands, Jabez was the son of the late John Robert and Sarah (nee Edmunds) Herritt. He was also predeceased by his father and mother in law Stanley and Winifred Thorne, sisters; Hannah Jane Morey (Cecil), Geraldine Keeping, brother in laws, Wilson Thorne (Mary), Simon Thorne (Bertha), George Thorne (Harriett) and Wilson Walters. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories, his loving wife Frances (nee Thorne) of 59 years. A loving father and grandfather Jabez will also be sadly missed by his daughter Selma (Gerald) Neil, son Corey (Bonita) Herritt all of Burnt Islands. Grandchildren; Wade (Danielle), Gerard (Kayla), Brandon, Tori and Tyler, great grandchildren Dannie, Reagan, and Maddie. Sister in law Jessie Walters, brother in law Hughie, his caregivers of 4 and 1/2 years Nancy Taylor, Charmaine Hatcher, Angie Hatcher and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation taking place on Tuesday from 7-9 pm, Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at St. George's Anglican Church in Burnt Islands form where the funeral service will take place on Friday, November 9, 2 pm officiated by The Rev. It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Lorice Elaine Kettle (nee Collier) announces her sudden passing Saturday, November 10th, 2018 at her residence in Port aux Basques, NL at the age of 56 years. Lorice was predeceased by her mother Marjorie Collier (nee Parsons) and brother Terrance Collier. She leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories her son Damon Delorey (Starr Francis); father Gerald Collier both of Port aux Basques. Her grandchildren Gage, Jayde and Mika, brothers John (Dianne) Collier of Ontario, Scott (Tanya) Collier of Nova Scotia, Ann (Hank) Lawrence of Alberta; aunts and uncles; special aunt Sheila Chaulk, Bessie Price, Loretta (Leander) Gillard, Carl Parsons, Gloria Parsons, Roderick (Elsie) Parsons, Catherine Parsons, Cecil (Dorothy) Parsons, Mildred (Ben) Osmond, Harvey Enwood, and Alice Collier, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Monday, November 21st, 2018 at the age of 83 years. Born in Port aux Basques, NL, Ralph was the son of the late Edgar and Alice LeRiche (nee Fudge). He was also predeceased by his daughter Sandra Joan, son Robert (Bobby) LeRiche, great grandchild Dominic Pike, brother Howard LeRiche, father and mother-in-law Frederick and Sarah Keeping, niece Jacklynn Patience, nephew Danny Taverner, brother-in-law Ulrich Savory, plus a large circle of many brothers and sisters-in-law. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving wife of 63 years Ruth LeRiche (nee Keeping), sons Edgar (Loretta) LeRiche, Freddie (Judy) LeRiche all of Port aux Basques, NL, Terry (Sherry) LeRiche of Lower Sackville, NS and only daughter Madonna (Tom) Osmond of Port aux Basques, NL, 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, sisters Bernice (Dennis) Taverner of Cape Ray, NL, Florence (John) Foote and Joan Savory all of Port aux Basques, NL, sisters-in-law Susie Billard, Gertie (Ross) Patey, Minnie (Charlie) Babcock, and Mary LeRiche, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will take place on Friday, November 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, Saturday, November 24th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Sunday, November 25th from 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. The day you were born was the happiest day of our lives. On September 6th, 2016 we were blessed with a beautiful girl to love. We watched you play and blossom into the perfect 2 year old so full of life and love, we knew you would be someone special and our most precious treasure. On Friday November 23rd, 2018 our lives were forever changed when God decided he needed another beautiful angel. Why he choose you we will never know, although he had other plans for you we were not ready to let go. It is with great sadness that the family of Lyla Rose Morris-Simms announces her sudden passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Friday, November 23rd, 2018 at the tender age of 2 years. Lyla was predeceased by her grandfather Michael Billard, great grandfather William (Bill) Simms and great uncle Garry White.
Lyla will be forever loved and sadly missed by her Mommy and Daddy Morgan Simms and Tanner Morris. Her grandparents Christa Simms, Dorothy and Calvin Morris will hold tight to many precious memories of their cherished granddaughter. Also left holding Lyla in their hearts are her great grandparents Helen Simms, Maggie and Solomon Billard, Melinda White, Edgar White and Sylvia Morris. Special family member Paula Simms, special cousins and playmates Dakota (Koda), Bentley, Michael, Charlotte and Kaylie-Mae. God parents; Kearsten Allen, Cameryn Simms, JC Anderson, Corey Chaisson and a large and loving circle of great aunts, great uncles, cousins and many friends.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 29th from 7-9 pm, and on Friday, November 30th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 1st at 11 am from St. James Anglican Church, Channel-Port aux Basques, NL officiated by The Rev. Edward Coleman. Cremation will follow and interment of ashes will take place at a later date. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Lyla's memory can be made to family. MURPHY, Bernice Elizabeth

Suddenly on Thursday November 29th 2018, Bernice Elizabeth Murphy in her 66th year. Loving daughter of William "Bud" C. Murphy of Channel Port Aux Basques Newfoundland. Sister of Dan Matthews (Lorraine), Jim (Mary), Norma, Scott, Steve (Karen) Madonna, Paul (Rhonda) Murphy. Predeceased by her mother Lillian Alice Murphy (1999) and brothers John (2016) and George (2017). Born in Channel Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland on May 17th 1953 Bernice moved to London in the '70s where she works at Honeywell for many years before going into car sales at various dealerships. She developed so many close and loving friendships, to many to name. Family and friends were everything to Bernie. Always the first one to offer a helping hand. She loved to travel, going to the casino and dealing on Kijiji in her retirement. The family offer their sincere thanks to the professionalism at LHSC, Victoria Campus Critical Care Trauma Center. Dr. Ahmad Alyami, Dr. Mason Curtis and especially the excellent caregiving of nurses Danielle, Barb, Ceilidh, Diana and Teresa. A celebration of life will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1997 Dundas Street East (at Wavell), London on Sunday December 9th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Please come with a story and all your favourite memories of Bernice.

SEYMOUR, Lavina

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Lavina Seymour (Courtney) announces her passing at Western Regional Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook on Saturday, November 17th, 2018 at the age of 61. Born in Burnt Islands she was the daughter of the late James and Meta (Smurridge) Courtney. She leaves to mourn with found and loving memories her husband of 47 years, Art, her son, Donavan (Eydie)Seymour, daughter, Angela (Scott) Collier, four grandchildren, Courtney and Skye Seymour, Knox and Kenzie Collier, thirteen sisters and brothers and spouses, and 5 sister and brother in law and spouses and a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Lavina was predeceased by her mother and father in law Reginald and Bessie Seymour, nephew Nolan Munden and brother-in-law Gordon Keeping. Thank you to the doctors and staff of Western Health who offered their compassion and professional support every day. Visitation took place on Tuesday, Nov. 20th from 2-4 & 7-9 and Wednesday, Nov. 21th from 2-4 & 7-9 at St. George's Anglican Church, Burnt Island, from where the funeral service was be held on Thursday, November 22, 2 p.m. officiated Rev. Jeffrey Petten, internment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle-aux-Mort Road. As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. WINTER, Rheta (nee Hann)
Passed on: November 4th, 2018

Passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 4 at The Village of Riverside Glen in Guelph, Ontario at the age of 80. Rheta is survived by her loving husband Frank Winter, her sons Peter Janes (Janet) and David Janes (Joy) and her brother Christopher Hann (Audrey) and their son Jason. She will be sadly missed by grandchildren Elizabeth Janes, Sonya Carroll (Sean), Paula Mann (Chris) and Andrew Janes. Proud great-grandmother of Riley, Charlie, Georgia and Max. Rheta was born September 12, 1938 in Our Harbour, Newfoundland to parents Edgar and Dora Hann. After confederation, Rheta moved to Burgeo, Newfoundland and on to Cornerbrook following school graduation. She then moved to Toronto, Mississauga and eventually retired in the community of Hillsburgh, Ontario. There she enjoyed many days working in her flower and vegetable gardens and reading. Rheta was a loving wife and mother who will be sadly missed by her family and friends. As per Rheta's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal memorial service.
