BATTISTE, Raymond (Ray)
Born: July 26th, 1947
Passed on: November 9th, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Raymond (Ray) Battiste announces his passing at the Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre on November 9, 2016 at the age of 69. Ray was the son of the late Thomas & Jane Battiste. He was also predeceased by his infant brother Cyril, brothers Lewis Battiste and Joe Battiste, sister Mabel Battiste, nieces Amanda Battiste, Rhonda Seaward, nephew Jason Seaward, brother-in-law Bob Peddle. He leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories his sons Christopher (Melissa) Battiste, Tom (Rhonda) Battiste and Rick Battiste, grandchildren Miranda, Madison, Mason, Myelle, great grandchildren Theo, Oliver and once in a lifetime companion and friend Wavey. He will also remain in the hearts of brothers and sisters Ronnie (Maxine) Battiste, Nina Peddle, Audrey (William) Seaward, Kevin (Donna) Battiste, Marlene (Tom) Brake, Gerard (Carolann) Battiste, Jerome (Pauline) Battsite. Sisters-in-law Mary Battiste, Jean Gabriel, Marie Battiste and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many many friends. In keeping with Ray's wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation. A celebration of Ray's life will take place on Friday, November 11, 2 pm at St. James Anglican Church, Channel with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre or St. James Anglican Church. BILLARD, HENRY
December 30, 1931 – November 25, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Henry Billard announces his passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Friday, November 25 at the age of 84 years. Henry was the son of the late Peter and Emma (nee MacDonald) Billard. He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis, sisters Ruby Currie, and Olive (Freeman) Northcott, brother Cyril (Audrey) Billard, sisters-in-law Classie (Ernest) Harris, Ida (Dorman) Warren, Adline (Walter) Hatcher, Alfreda (Thomas) Coley and Cora (John T) White, and brothers-in-law Gus Walters, Joshua (Vida) Skinner and Elijah (Sarah) Skinner. Leaving to mourn with memories of a proud father and grandfather are his children Wayne (Elsie) Billard and Sheila (Dennis) King, grandchildren Wendy (Chris) Osmond, Dawn (Barry) Fudge, Myles (Trina) Billard, Shauna Billard, Tanya (Wayne) Pike, Lana (Andy) Lahey, and Denise (Marc) Lewis, great grandchildren Brady, Emma and Haley Osmond, Eric Lahey, Carter, Kalen and Katie Billard, and Peter and Logan Fudge. He will also remain in the memories of his brother Roland (Bernice) Billard and sister Annie Walters, brothers-in-law Marven Currie, Fred (Betty) Skinner, Ward (Alice) Skinner and sister-in-law Ruth (Matthew) Street, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation took place on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm from St. Augustine's Anglican Church in Margaree from where the funeral service took place on Monday, November 28, 2 pm with Rev. COLEMAN, John Wayne

Passed on: November 12th, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Wayne Coleman announces his sudden passing on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the age of 64. Born in Port-aux-Basques, John Wayne was the son of the late John Wallace and Queena (Priddle) Coleman. Leaving to mourn his wife Hilda (Durnford) of 43 years, his son, Neil Coleman (Shawnda Kane) and daughter, Nadine Rossiter, grandchildren, Santanna Coleman, Kirkland King and James Rossiter, brother and sisters, Barry (Sylvia) Coleman, Alvena Francis and Bonnie (Dan) Duff, brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and a large circle of family and friends. The family will receive friends at Fillatre's Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Port-aux- Basques on Wednesday and Thursday, November 16 and 17 from 2-4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral will be held at Holy Spirit Anglican Church, Isle-aux-Morts on Friday, November 18 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Maryrose officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. GILLAM, DULCIE
March 12, 1927 – November 25, 2016

Passed away peacefully at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre with her loving family surround by her side on Friday, November 25, 2016, Dulcie "Dot" Gillam at the age of 89. Born in Grand Bay, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Julia (nee Kettle) Pearce. Dulcie will be sadly missed and forever loved by her children, Elaine (Eric) Chaulk, Linda (Emanuel) Lawrence, Isaac (Joyce), Geraldine (William) Fudge, Sandra (Roger) Osmond, Donna (Don) Payne, David (Mary), Roxanne (Melvin), 25 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren, sister, Dorcas Willingham, sister-in-law, Gertrude Gillam, as well a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, George Gilliam, son Roland, grandson, Paul Gillam, brothers, Ray Pearce and Llewellyn Kettle and sister, Ada Buttery The family received family and friends at Fillatre's Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Port-aux-Basques on Saturday, November 26, from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, November 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service took place on Monday, November 28 at 2 p.m., at St. James Anglican Church with Rev. HARDY, EILEEN
February 6, 1927 – November 26, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eileen Hardy (nee Harris) announces her peaceful passing at the Long Term Care Unit of Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Saturday November 26 at the age of 89 years. Born in Burnt Islands, Eileen was the daughter of the late Johnathan and Bertha Harris. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond Hardy in 1984, brothers Ernest (Classie) Harris, Roy Harris, Matthew Harris, brothers in law; Kenneth Munden, Leslie Tufts. She leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories her daughter Donna Francis (Max Harvey) St. Andrew's, grandchildren; Melanie (Marshall) Dominix Isle aux Morts, Raylene Francis (David Rossiter) Port aux Basques, Byron Francis St. Andrew's, great grandchildren; Samantha, Tori, Hailey, Brian. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters; Annie Munden Burnt Islands, Florence Tufts Port aux Basques, Addie (Gilbert) Keeping, Linda (John) Keeping, sister in law Rose Harris all of Burnt Islands and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation took place on Monday and Tuesday at St. George's Anglican Church in Burnt Islands from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday, November 30, 11 am officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Petten, interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Thomas (Tom) Leamon announces his passing on Wednesday, November 23 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 78 years. Born in Port aux Basques, Tom was the son of the late Charles Sr. and Gladys Leamon. He was predeceased by his brothers Clarence (Jean), Reg (Phyllis), Clifford Bateman, father and mother in law George Sr., and Hazel Bennett, sisters in law Linda Bennett, Maggie Leamon and brother in law George Bennett Jr. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories his wife Shirley of 54 years. A proud father and grandfather he will forever remain in the hearts of his children; Michael (Lori) Leamon, Tony (Connie) Leamon, Shawn (Margo) Leamon, grandchildren; Nick (Holly), Toni, Dylan, Colby, Marcy, Rowan. He will also be sadly missed by his brothers Chay Leamon and Gordon Leamon. LEE, KATHLEEN ANNE (MARTYN)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our amazing mother, Kathleen, at the age of 69, on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Arborstone Enhanced Care, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Kay, as she was known to most of her family and friends, was born in Corner Brook, NL, and she was a daughter of the late Margaret (Griffin) and Charles Martyn. Kay was a teacher at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Corner Brook, NL before taking time off to raise her family. She also taught at St. Ann's and Belanger in the Codroy Valley, NL until her retirement in 2012. Kay loved working with the children. It brought her great joy. She was also an avid reader, loved walking and learning new things. She will be missed dearly by her son, Dennis (Melissa) Lee, Deer Lake, NL; daughters, Kathy-Lynn (Gary) Shaw, Labrador City, NL; Maggie (Chris) Richards, Hubley, NS; and her two wonderful grandchildren Sophie and David Richards; brothers, Charles (Sheila) Martyn; Barry (Irene) Martyn; sisters, Gertrude (Roger) Humber; Irene (Bob) Brake; Margaret Tobin; Marion McMaster; Anne (Dave) Brennan; sister-in-law, Joanne O'Brien; brother-in-law, Mike Brothers; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Dave; son, Martyn; sister, Connie Brothers; brothers-in-law, Terry Tobin and Tom O'Brien; and her parents-in-law, Edna and Larry Lee. Cremation has taken place. Visitation took place at Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue, Corner Brook, NL, Tuesday, November 29th, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm; Service of Remembrance took place at The Cathedral of The Most Holy Redeemer, Mount Bernard Avenue, Corner Brook, NL, Wednesday, November 30th at 2 pm. A memorial service was held at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Codroy Valley on Friday, December 2nd at 2 pm. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 81 years. Born in Port aux Basques, Joyce was the daughter of the late Cora May and John Thomas White. She was predeceased by her loving husband Edgar in March of 2009, son Stanley, and brothers in law; Soleman, Harold William and sister in law Elizabeth. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories are Joyce's children; Beverly (Lloyd) Osmond, Sherry Kettle (Sean) all of Bradford ON, Terry (Goldie) Kettle Fort McMurray AB, stepdaughters; Shirley Hulan (Junior) Amanda Mclean (Daniel), six grandchildren; Craig, Krista, Justin, Nicole, Lisa, Stephen, 10 great grandchildren; Ethan, Paris, Taylor, Logan, Kayleah, Bentley, Grayson, Adeline, Emily, and Charlee. Born in Isle aux Morts, Susanna was the daughter of the late Winter and Rose Scott. She was also predeceased by her husband Benjamin in 2004, daughter Nancy in 2002, grandson Ryan in 2002, sisters Edith Harvey, Belinda Organ and brother Thomas Scott. She leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories her children; Suzanne (Lugano) Donald St. Catharines ON, with whom she resided, Sabrina (Ephriam) Harvey, Doreen (Blanford) Billard all of Isle aux Morts, Cindy (Jim) Wiley, Greg (Sheila) Wells all of St. Catharines ON, Larry (Edna) Wells Isle aux Morts, Fenton (Carol) Wells Port Colborne ON, Nolan (Netta) Wells Port aux Basques, Billy (Daisy) Wells St. Catharines ON, 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren.
