BIRD, Alice Emma
December 24, 1941 - November 24, 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alice Emma Bird (nee Taylor) announce her passing on Monday, November 24th, 2014 at her residence in Rose Blanche after a courageous and lengthy 10 year Battle with Cancer at the age of 72 years. Born at LaPoile, NL, Alice was the daughter of the late Thomas and Harriett Taylor (Neil). She was predeceased by her brothers Henry Neil and Philip Taylor, brother in law Willis Francis and sister in law Jessie Taylor. A loving and devoted wife and mother, Alice leaves to mourn with precious memories her husband Clayton of 50 years. Her sons Wayne (Colleen), Stewart, Cecil (Stephanie) and daughter Denise (Gary). She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Adrian, Corbin, Thomas and Alyssa and step-granddaughter Courtney Bateman. Sisters Julia Francis, Olive (Blandford) Francis, Debbie (Roland) Organ and sisters in law Evelyn Neil, Ameila Bird, Melinda Bird, Frances Bird, and brothers in law Alvin Martin and Walter Strickland Sr.; special Aunt Josephine McDermott and a large circle of extended family and many friends. Visitation took place on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home in Port aux Basques and Thursday from St. Michaels and All Angels Church in Rose Blanche. Funeral Services took place on Friday, November 28th, 2 p.m. at St. Michaels Church in Rose Blanche officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Petten, interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Flowers graciously accepted or donations can be made to the charity of ones choice. CLEVETT, Ralph
1933-2014

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of the late Ralph Clevett on Monday, November 10, 2014 at Western Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side in his 81st year. He was born in Rose Blanche and was the son of the late William and Harriett (Burke) Clevett. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 58 years, Ethel (Courtney), children, Helena (Peter) Yeung, William Clevett, David (Sheila) Clevett, Edward Clevett, Darlene (Wayne) Anderson and Kevin (Alice) Clevett; grandchildren, Sherri Lynn Hayter, Amanda Anderson, Tryphene Anderson, Courtney Clevett, Regan Clevett, Wendy Rose, Michelle Clevett and Alexander Clevett, great grandchildren, Brady & Kyla Blackmore, Woodleigh Clevett, Cohen Greenwood and Lily Hayter, brother; Gordon (Theresea) Clevett and sister; Mabel (Ken) LeMoine, sister-in-law; Dorothy Meade. He was predeceased by brother and sisters, Grace (Felix) Hatcher, Andrew (Ella) Clevett, Charles (Miria) Clevett, Shirley (Henry) Hardy, infant sister, Nina Clevett and brother-in-law, Willard Meade. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Port-aux-Basques, where visitation will be held on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 14 at 2:00 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church. Interment to follow at the St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Donations in Ralph memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. FRAMPTON, Marjorie L.
1966-2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Marjorie Frampton announce her sudden passing on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the Sir Thomas Rodderick Hospital at the age of 48. She was born in Port-aux-Basques and was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Neil) Frampton. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter, Lacey Frampton (Matt Savoury) and son, Joey Frampton, brothers and sisters, Chesley (Maisie) Frampton, Ellen Frampton, Mabel (Alphonse) LeFrense, Angus (Jo-Ann) Frampton, Gloria Frampton (Raymond Osmond), Eric (Delphine) Frampton, Deanna (Junior) Frampton, Jimmy (Alice) Frampton and Charlene Frampton, as well a large circle of nieces and nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by sister, Gladys Leamon. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening and Thursday and Friday at the Holy Spirit Church in Isle-aux-Morts. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2:00 p.m. Holy Spirit Anglican Church, officiated by Rev. Maryrose Colbourne, interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Donations in Marjorie memory may be made to the family. HARVEY, Edith
1940-2014

It is great sadness that the family of the late Edith Harvey announces her passing on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Charles LeGrow Health Centre with her loving family by her side at the age of 74. Born in Isle-aux-Morts she was the daughter of the late Winter and Rosie (nee Harvey, died in 1944) Scott. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 57 years, Russell Harvey, children, Terrence (Veronica), Port-aux-Basques; Rosanna (Robert Kelly),Lower Sackville, NS; Russell (Geraldine), Botwood, NL; Alison Harvey, Halifax, NS; and Jeffrey (Candi), Halifax, NS; grandchildren, Ashley Harvey, Terri Lynn (Joseph Doherty) Harvey, Devon Harvey, Russell Harvey and Ian Harvey , great grandchildren Vincent and Alexander Doherty; brothers and sisters, Susanne (Scott) Wells, William (Golda) Scott, Annebell (Calvin) Warren, Alfred (Laurie) Scott, Eric (Daphene) Scott, Linsey (Dorothy) Scott and Gary (Wilma) Scott and sister in laws, Beatrice Hann and Selina (Willoughby) Keeping and Gertie Scott. Edith was predeceased by her daughters, Selina, Lorna in 1963 & Jacqueline in 1970, sister, Belinda Organ and brother, Thomas Scott. LOMOND, William Thomas
(November 6, 1934 - November 24, 2014)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late William Thomas Lomond announces his passing at the Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Centre on Monday, November 24, 2014 at the age of 80 years. He was predeceased by his parents Emanuel and Julia Lomond, Sisters and Brothers in law Lena and Walter Lomond, Bessie and William Fudge, Annie and Kevin Pike, Martha and Joseph Hickey and Brother George Lomond. He leaves with fond and loving memories Brother Morgan (Mary), Sister Irene (Garland) Musseau, all of Grand Bay, Brother Alex (Sheila), Halifax, NS and Sister in law Beverly Lomond, Grand Bay as will as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 25 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and Wednesday, November 26 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm from East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, November 27 at 2:00 pm from St. Paul's Anglican Church with Rev. Stephen Maki officiating, with interment to take place in St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery. MacISAAC, Ashley Christopher
1976-2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ashley Christopher MacIsaac announce his sudden passing on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at his home at the age of 38. Born in Port-aux-Basques, he is the son of Ambrose MacIsaac and the late Linda Downey. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his brothers and sister, Ambrose (Leah), Bernard, Scott (Cindy), Natasha, Aaron (Roxanne), Byron and Christopher; girlfriend, Wanda, nieces and nephews, aunt and uncles and a large circle of friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Linda Downey, uncles, Loyola and Kevin Downey, grandparents, Mary and Joseph Patrick Downey and Margaret and Albert MacIsaac. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 3 starting at 7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Upper Ferry. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 5 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Lee Lainey officiating. Interment to follow in St. Thomas Roman Catholic Cemetery. THORNE, Dorothy
(November 25, 1920 - November 26, 2014)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dorothy Thorne announces her passing on Wednesday November 26 at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 94 years. Born in Burnt Islands, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Eloil and Isabella (nee King) Caines. She was also predeceased by her husband Ralph Thorne on February 12, 1984, her son Garland on October 16, 2005, sisters; Ida, Susan, Joyce, Elizabeth, Ellen, brothers; George, Edgar, Kenneth, son in law Russell Hardy. Leaving to mourn with many fond and precious memories her loving family; only daughter Ruth Hardy, grandchildren; Garland Hardy (Kimberely), Derek Hardy (Roxanne), Marvin Hardy (Velda), Crystal Chant (Ray), Garland Thorne (Carla), Gloria Dorion (Mike). Great grandchildren; Melanie, Lesley, Kayla, Dana, Russell, Nikita, DJ, Jasmine, Jonathon, great, great granddaughter Isabella. Sister Minnie (Walter) Hayman, daughter in law Hilda Thorne and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. In Keeping with Dorothy’s wishes cremation has taken place. The family received friends at her family residence in Burnt Islands on Saturday and Sunday from where the funeral service took place on Monday December 1, 2 PM officiated by Mr. Mike Fitzgerald. Interment followed at the Jehovah's Witness Cemetery, Burnt Islands. Memorial donations can be made to the charity of one's choice.
