BRAGG, George W.
1921 - 2006

Passed away peacefully at the Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre on Friday, November 3, 2006, George Wildon Bragg of Port aux Basques at the age of 84 years. Born in Port aux Basques he was the son of the late Richard and Maude (nee Dicks) Bragg. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Christopher Bragg and William Bragg; nephews, Bradley Turner and Paul Bragg; sister-in-law, Ida Peyton; brothers-in-law, George Osmond, John Peyton, Tom Beaton, Edgar Elliot, Earl Anstey and Bernard Prosser. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his family: wife, Mary of 59 years marriage; children, Sharon (Albert) White of Port aux Basques, Carolann (Frank) Matthews of Moncton, New Brunswick, Roberta (Dave) Savory of Port aux Basques, Lloyd (Janice) Bragg of Port aux Basques, Donna (Kenny) Munden of Burnt Islands, and Richard Bragg of Port aux Basques; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Prosser of Port aux Basques, Dallas (Elwood) Turner of Boston, USA, Shirley Osmond and Marilyn Bragg (William Osmond) of Port aux Basques; sister-in-law, Mildred Bragg of Port aux Basques, and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation took place on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques. Funeral services took place on Monday, November 6th, 2006, 2 p.m. at St. James' Anglican Church, Channel officiated by Rev. Canon Hugh Fudge. Interment followed at St. James' Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.

HERRITT, Harriet
1914 - 2006

Passed away peacefully at the Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre on Saturday, November 4, 2006, Harriet Herritt of Port aux Basques at the age of 92 years. Born at Diamond Cove she was the daughter of the late Archibald and Annie (nee Taylor) Buffett. She was also predeceased by her husband, George Herritt in 1955; common-law spouse, Robert Meade in 1991; two grandsons and one granddaughter; sister, Susie Warren; brother, Clayton Buffett; brother-in-law, Edgar Warren; and sister-in-law, Irene Buffett; sons-in-law, Maxwell Spicer and Robert Cox. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Clyde (Marie) Herritt, Mariam (Leslie) Strickland all of Port aux Basques; Ethel Spicer, Emily Cox and Clayton (Rita) Herritt all of Diamond Cove; 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation took place on Saturday and Sunday at St. Michael's and All Angel's Anglican Church in Rose Blanche. Funeral services took place on Monday, November 6, 2006, 2 p.m. at St. Michael's and All Angel's Anglican Church, officiated by Rev. Kenneth Abbott. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Anglican Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.

CHISLETT, Carter
Nov. 19, 1952 - Nov. 8, 2006

At the age of 53, Carter Chislett of Rose Blanche passed away peacefully at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006. He was the son of Fannie (nee Skinner) and the late Montford. He was predeceased by his father, Montford in 1999; and father-in-law, Albert Parsons in 1964. Carter was born and raised in Rose Blanche. He leaves to mourn his wife, Annie (nee Parsons); and two children, Mark Carter (Jody Battcock) of Happy Valley Goose Bay, NL and Karen Ann (Michael Durnford) of Brandon, MB; brothers and sisters, Kathleen Loder (Brian), Joan Young (Ephraim), Gary (Ramona Keeping), Bernice (Shawn Osmond), Eric (Charlene) and Tracy Lynn; mother-in-law, Margaret (nee Herritt), father-in-law, late Albert Parsons; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mable Skinner (Ralph), Melvina Heron (Walter), Lynn Horwood (Shawn) and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation took place on Thursday and Friday followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006 at St. Michaels and All Angels Church in Rose Blanche officiated by Rev. Abbott. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, under the direction of Fillatre's Funeral Home.

HATCHER, Myrtle

1909 - 2006

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Myrtle Hatcher announce her passing at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Friday, November 17th, 2006 in her 97th year. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Susanna Riggs. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her children: Murdock Matthews (Helen), Halifax, N.S., Clifford Hatcher (Rachel), Trenton, ON, Harry Hatcher, Rose Blanche, Mary Gharzouzi, Scarborough, ON, Joan Coleman (Robin), St. Mary's, ON, Hannah Taylor, Fox Creek, AB, Ann Parsons (William), Rose Blanche; 25 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother Warren Riggs, St. John, NB, as well as a large number of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends, and her extended family at the Long Term Care Unit at LeGrow Health Centre. She was predeceased by husbands Henry Hatcher and John Matthews; son Roy Hatcher; daughters-in-law: Irene Hatcher and Marjorie Hatcher; brother Maurice Riggs; sisters: Charlotte Bragg, Frances Hatch, Rosie Riggs and Hilda Riggs. Visitation was held on Saturday and Sunday at St. Michael's Anglican Church in Rose Blanche, from where the Funeral Service was held on Monday, November 20th at 2:00 pm with Rev. Ken Abbott officiating. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port aux Basques.

HORWOOD, Albert
1922 - 2006

Passed away peacefully at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 Albert Horwood of Rose Blanche at the age of 84 years. Born at Harbour LeCou he was the son of the late James and Violet (nee Butt) Horwood. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Harry Horwood and Clyde Horwood; sister, Rita Parsons; son-in-law, Roland Parsons; and brother-in-law, Harold Peach. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving family: wife, Melita of 61 years marriage; children, Florence Parsons, Dennis (Walterine) and Anderine (George) Carroll; four grandchildren, Denise Graham (Scott), Donna Parsons (Colin), Angela Wheaton (Bob) and John Parsons (Brook); three great-grandchildren, Susan Graham, Mark Graham and Cody Parsons. Sister Alma Peach Glace Bay, NS, and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation took place on Wednesday and Thursday at St. Michael's and All Angels Anglican Church in Rose Blanche. Funeral services took place on Friday, November 24, 2006, 2 p.m. at St. Michael's and All Angels Anglican Church officiated by Rev. Canon Hugh Fudge. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques. 695-2300.

FRANCIS, Keith Douglas
It is with great sadness, we the family of the late Keith Douglas Francis, announce his sudden passing at North Sydney, NS, on November 30, 2006 at the age of 37 years. Born in Port aux Basques, NL, he was the youngest son of Alice (Rose) and the late Albert Harvey Francis. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife, Joy (Francis) of 13 years; and son, Albert, who was the center of his life. He will be forever loved and sadly missed by his mother, Alice; stepfather, Arthur Young; brothers, Lloyd (Audrey), Wade (Cindy), Port aux Basques, Johnny (Bertha) Dartmouth; sisters, Mary, Phyllis (Jerry Pike), Lorna (Glen Sheaves), Darlene (Danny Mullins), Denise (Walter White) and Tina (Colin Leamon) Port aux Basques; mother-in-law, Florence (Richard Murphy), North Sydney; father-in-law, Ossie Francis (Eva), Halifax; and brother-in-law, Kenneth (Laura), Cole Harbour and by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation took place on Sunday, December 3, 2006 at WJ Dooley Funeral home. The service took place on Monday, December 4, 2006 at Calvary Baptist Church, North Sydney, NS with Rev. John Hannem officiating. Burial followed at Lakeside Cemetery.
