It is with great sadness that the family of the late Basil Albert
Kendell announces his passing on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at
the age of 65 years. Born in Port aux Basques he was the son of the late
Louis and Nora Kendell. He is predeceased by his sister, Florence; brothers,
Andrew (Ellen), Edward (Rosina) and David (Edna). He leaves to mourn with
fond and precious memories his family: wife, Audrey (nee Francis) of 27
years marriage; sons, Bruce (Jill) of Alberta, Broderick (Belinda) of Nova
Scotia and Joseph (Amanda) of Prince Edward Island; daughter, Victoria
(Shawn) of Newfoundland; grandchildren, Colton, Colbie, Ethan, Zachary,
Nathan, Brenden and Sara; brothers, William (Barbara) and James (Leona);
sister, Jean and also a large circle of nieces, nephews and many, many
friends. Visitation took place on Wednesday 7-9 p.m., Thursday 2-4 and
7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques. Funeral services
took place on Friday, May 9, 2008, 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Anglican Church,
Grand Bay, officiated by Rev. George Critchell. Internment followed at
St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery, TCH. Funeral arrangements were in the care

January 26, 1939 - May 10, 2008
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Isreal Warren announces
his passing on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the age of 69
years. Born in Dog Cove, he is the son of the late John and Mary Warren.
He is predeceased by his sister Bonnie, brother Calvin, brothers-in-law
Bill Bragg, Frank Pike and Jason Noseworthy. He leaves to mourn with fond
and precious memories his family: sisters Mildred Bragg, Margaret Pike
both of Port aux Basques, Minnie (Ken) Green of Florida, Sarah Warren of
Burnaby B.C., Bernice Warren of St. John's, Karen (Steve) Murphy and Tammy
(Terry Ingram) Noseworthy both of Port aux Basques; brothers John (Ann)
Warren of Bay D'Espoir, George (Elaine) Warren of Torbay; sister-in-law
Sharon Warren of Torbay and also a large circle of aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews and many friends. Visitation took place Saturday 7-9 p.m., Sunday
2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services took place on Monday, May 12, 2008, 11
a.m. at St. James' Anglican Church Channel, officiated by Rev. Hugh Fudge.
Internment followed at St. James' Anglican Cemetery, High Street. Funeral

BILLARD, Melita Elizabeth

1928-2008
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Melita Billard announce
her passing on Monday, May 12, 2008 at the age of 79 years.
Leaving to mourn her husband of 58 years, Onslow, sisters Cassie (Bob)
Miller and Ruth (Cyril) Billard, brothers Wallace (Lorraine) James and
John (Jean) James as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and other
relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents Harvey and Beatrice James
and sister Sylvia. Special thanks to staff at the Mountain Hope Manor where
she resided for the past six months. Thanks to the staff at the Dr. Charles
LeGrow Hospital and the crew of the Marine Eagle. Friends visited Grand
Bruit United Church on Tuesday and Wednesday from where the funeral service
took place on Thursday, May 15 at 2 p.m. with interment at the United Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements

Hospital, St. John's at the age of 76 years. He was predeceased by
his father, Stanley, mother, Susie (Skeard), brothers, Fred and Harold,
sisters, Helena and Florence and granddaughter, Michelle. Leaving
to mourn, his wife of 54 years Ivy, sons, Jim (Bev) and Rick (Kathy),
daughter, Susan, grandchildren Tara, Brandon and Joseph, brothers,
Ralph (Bertha) and Norman, sister Ruby, brothers-in-law, Art Piccott,
Leo Strowbridge and Russell Strowbridge (Roberta), sisters-in-law,
Ella Stanley (Gordon), Winnie Prior and Alfreda Ingram and also a

Funeral Home, Port aux Basques on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The
funeral service was held on Monday, May 19 at 2 p.m. from St. James'
Anglican Church with Rev. Fudge officiating. Interment followed at

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Allan
Melbourne announce his passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital,
Stephenville, NL, on Friday, May 16, 2008 at the age of
83 years. He will be ever missed by his loving, long time partner Daisy
Currie; son, James (Kimberly White); daughter, Elsie (Patrick) Tremblay;
grandchildren, Dean, Derick, Darren, Denise and Andrew; seven great-grandchildren;
sisters, Loretta Skeard and Daphne Patey; sisters-in-law, Susie Melbourne,
Hannah Ford, Grace Savoury and Edith Gardner; two very special nieces Paula
Dominie and Paulette Roberts; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews,
relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Cornelia, son, Hartley
and brothers, Cecil and Douglas. Allan was a great husband, father, grandfather,
brother and friend. He never lost his sense of humour. He will be sadly
missed by all who knew him. Visitation took place on Saturday, 2-4 and

was a kind and loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He had
many friends in the Codroy Valley . He loved them all dearly. Friends
visited St. Anne's Church, Upper Ferry on Wednesday and Thursday from
where the funeral mass was, held on Friday, May 23 at 2 p.m. Interment
followed at Mt. St. Thomas RC Cemetery with Fr. Lee Lainey officiating.

2008 at the age of 87 years.
Bom in Harbour Breton, she was the daughter of the late George and Rosanna
Ansford. She is predeceased by granddaughter, Denise, brothers,
Chesley and William, sons-in-law Frank Savery and Russell Graham and
brother-in-law Lloyd Dyke. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious
memories her children. Florence (Cecil) Anderson of Pasadena, Ethel Savery
of Port aux Basques, James (Ivy) Strickland of Ajax, Ontario, Kay (Nelson)
Osmond, Leo (Cook) Strickland, John (Patty) Strickland and Dianne Graham,
all of Port aux Basques, 21 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, sister
Jane Dyke of Stephenville and her lifelong friends Mary Lomond and family
