BUCKLAND, ROLAND LEWIS
March 29, 1949 - March 31, 2017

It is with heavy hearts that we the family of the late Roland Lewis Buckland announce his peaceful passing surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 68 years. Born in Port aux Basques, Roland was the son of the late John and Annie Buckland. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Tara Lynn (Jason) Rose, David Buckland Jr., grandson, Mitchell Rose, brother, David Buckland, nephew, Bruce (Jody) Buckland, great nephews and nieces, Ethan, Allie, Andrew, Victoria and Liam, and a large circle of friends and family. Roland was predeceased by grandson, Jackson Rose, nephew, Lee Buckland, and great niece, Emily Buckland. Visitation taking place on Monday, April 3, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. from St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, Rose Blanche. The Service of Remembrance will take place on Tuesday, April 4 at 11 a.m., officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Petten. Interment will follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donation's made be made to charity of one's choice. CLEVETT, STANLEY GORDON
January 13, 1945 - March 14, 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Stanley Gordon Clevett announce his passing on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 72. Born in Rose Blanche, he was the son of the late Charles and Maria (Gillam) Clevett. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories six sisters and five brothers, Llewellyn (Margaret) Clevett, Campbellton, NB, Wayne (Joyce) Clevett, Margaree, Ivan (Wanda) Clevett, Port-aux-Basques, Stewart and Barry Clevett, both of Ontario, Linda (Robert) Miller, Nova Scotia, Diane (Jeff) Musseau, Port aux Basques, Jacqueline Hardy (Kevin), Port aux Basques, Donna Clevett, Ontario, Denise (Larry) White, Ontario, and Jean (Bill) Lee, Corner Brook, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Arrangements are under the care of Fillatre's Funeral Home. In keeping with Gordon's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A graveside service will be held at a later date. (October 25, 1931 - March 4, 2017)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Irene Cornish announces her passing on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Dr. Charles L. Legrow Health Centre at the age of 85 years. Irene was the daughter of the late Alexander and Emily Cribb. She was predeceased by her husband John, brothers John, Thomas and Chesley and sister Theresa, and by her great granddaughter Cynthia Marie Jillett. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories, are her children James (Marilyn), Gander, NL; Rosalie (David) Jillett, O'Regan's, NL; Jane (Serge) Tremblay, Ottawa, ON. Brenda English-Huffman
, age 64, of RR# 4 Aylmer passed away peacefully at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on March 20, 2017. She was born in Rose Blanche, and raised in Petites, Newfoundland, daughter of the late Charles and Jessie (Greene) Francis. Friend, companion, fishing buddy and wife of Ron Huffman, formerly married to George English. Loving mother and best friend of Tanya English (Mike) and Tara Schill (Jeff). Loving Nana of Bailey, Ethan, Dylan, Ty and great grandma of Benjamin and Alyda. Dear sister of Edna Read (Eric), Danny Francis (Christine) and Lorraine Brodhagen (Bruce). Loved by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Raymond Francis (Carol). Brenda was employed at Canadian Fabricated Products for 26 years until its closing. HUELIN, JUDITH ANN
October 5, 1954 - March 9, 2017

There can be no greater loss than the loss of a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She is truly the glue that holds a family together, her strength, guidance, wisdom, kindness and love make us the people that we are. For this, we will have many precious memories that will help us get through the most difficult loss of our lives. On Thursday, March 9, 2017 our lives would be forever changed as we the family of the late Judy Huelin (nee LaBreche) announce her sudden passing at her residence in Isle aux Morts at the age of 62 years. Judy was predeceased by her father Gerald LaBreche and their special bond was always a big part of who she was. Judy was predeceased by her mother and father in law Marcella and John Huelin and sister in law Ida LeFrense. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories is her loving and devoted husband Garland of 44 years. A proud mother and grandmother, she will be forever loved and sadly missed by her children; Rose Marie (Kevin) Coleman, Barbara (Trent) Bryan all of Calgary AB, Melissa Huelin of St. John's NL and her two precious grandchildren Andrew and Amanda. Judy will forever remain in the hearts of her mother Rosabelle LaBreche of Halifax NS, her brothers; Michael (Christine) LaBreche of Halifax NS, Tony (Jo-Ann) LaBreche of Bridgewater NS, Brian LaBreche of Halifax NS and Peter LaBreche of Toronto ON as well as her special niece and nephew, Jessica and Justin LaBreche. Judy will live in the hearts of her in laws; Dorman (Joyce) Huelin, Lucy (Austin) Billard all of Isle aux Morts, Martha Keeping of Port aux Basques, Christine Lillington of Isle aux Morts, Kathleen Huelin of Port aux Basques and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many special friends. Judy was employed at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre for the past number of years and she took much pride in and was very dedicated to her work. She was everyone's friend and she will be greatly missed by her colleagues. In her spare time, she loved to sew and quilting was her favourite past time. She was an avid animal lover and was also very involved in her community as she helped introduced the Girl Guide movement to Isle aux Morts many years ago, she was also very dedicated to the memory of her late father, a retired RCMP officer, and to our military. They held a special place in her heart and she always did her part to honour and remember them. Visitation took place on Tuesday evening, March 14 and Wednesday, March 15 at Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle aux Morts, from where the funeral service will take place on Thursday, March 16, 2 pm officiated by Rev. Maryrose Colbourne and Father Lee Lainey, interment will follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Always In Our Memories, Forever In Our Hearts...

INGRAM, GERALD HENRY
November 15, 1953 - March 13, 2017

As we travel the road of life we endure many things, some things change us, some things make us stronger and sometimes we even feel a little weak, but on this road one thing always remains constant and that is the love shown to us by those who are most special in our lives. On Monday, March 13, 2017, our husband, dad, poppy, brother, son and most of all our friend Gerald Henry Ingram left us way too soon at the young age of 63 years while on vacation with the love of his life in a place that was very near and dear to them both, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Gerald was predeceased by his mother Wilhelmina Ingram, father in law James Francis and brother in law Henry Maidment. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories is his wife Shirley (nee Francis) of 41 years. A proud father and grandfather he will be sadly missed by his sons Troy Ingram (Krista) of Port aux Basques, Jonathon Ingram of Red Deer AB. He will be forever missed by his precious grandson Liam Ingram and precious granddaughter Adele Ingram whom he loved unconditionally. Uncle G also had a very soft spot for his niece Emily Francis. Gerald will be sadly missed by his father Gerald Ingram Sr., sisters and brothers; Jane McDonald (Paul) of Mount Pearl NL, Wilfred Ingram (Judy Gosse) Whitbourne NL, Penny Lou Osmond (Ronald Penny) of Barrie ON, Robin Ingram (Julia) of Port aux Basques and Philip Ingram (Coreena) of Mount Pearl NL. He will forever remain in the hearts of his mother in law Maude Francis, sisters and brothers in law; Catherine Dominie of Toronto, Sarah Lawrence (Berkley) of Carbonear NL, Jeffrey Francis (Donna) of Port aux Basques, Dianne Maidment of Gander NL, Lewis Francis of Lower Sackville NS and a large circle of extended family and many friends. Gerald, a well known member of the community joined the Channel-Port aux Basques fire department at the age of 16, still an active member he recently completed his 46th year. He was also regularly seen helping out with minor hockey. An avid outdoorsman, hunting and fishing were his passion. The Chicago Blackhawks had his support, as did his friends and family. Gerald's smile and sense of humour lit up the room. The family received friends at East Haven Funeral Home on Sunday, March 19, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service took place on Monday, March 20, 2 pm at St. James Anglican Church, officiated by Rev. Marlene Harvey. To honour Gerald's wishes cremation followed and internment will take place at a later date. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in memory of Gerald can be made to the Channel-Port aux Basques Volunteer Fire Department. KINSLOW, MARION PHYLLIS
September 1, 1957 - March 6, 2017

When we think back to all of the wonderful memories that we have of our wife, mother grandmother, daughter and most of all friend, our hearts are deeply saddened to announce that our angel Marion Kinslow (nee Strickland) lost her courageous battle with cancer on Monday, March 6 at the age of 59 years. Marion was predeceased by her father James Strickland, brother Garland Strickland, mother and father in law Emily and John Kinslow and brothers in law John Kinslow and Bill Kinslow. She leaves to mourn with many precious memories her loving and devoted husband Raymond of 40 years. Loving mother of Corey (Leona) of Codroy, Stephanie (Draper) and Melissa all of Port aux Basques. A very proud nanny, Marion will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren; Shycia, Dillon, Kearsten, Claire, Brady, Letisha. She will forever remain in the hearts of her mother Lillian Strickland, brothers; Isreal (Roberta) Strickland of Fox Roost, Eli (Marcella) Strickland of Port aux Basques, Curtis (Kim) Strickland of Gander, NL and sister Trudy (Stephen) Lomond of Torbay, NL. She will also be sadly missed by her brothers and sisters in law; Tom (Joanne) Kinslow of Isle aux Morts, Wallace (Karen) Kinslow of Burnt Islands, Bruce Kinslow of Stephenville, Darlene (Steward) of Stephenville Crossing, Bertha (Paul) Chipp of Stephenville, Philip (Carol) Kinslow and Llewellyn (Patsy) Kinslow, and Kathleen Kinslow all of Nova Scotia. Marion loved life, her family and especially her friends. She could be found anytime time having fun and hanging out with them. Kelly and Robert Pike, Sherry and Wayne Savoury, Tom and Kim Anderson, Scott Samms and Candace Hann, Paul Taylor, David Gaulton, and Lisa and Kenny Legge were all very special to Marion and they will have many precious memories that will remain in their hearts forever. Marion also loved a good game of darts and of course her favourite past time was her bingo game. Her and her mother shared many fun hours together at bingo and had many laughs doing what they loved to do together. Those who shared in Marion's life were among the most fortunate people in the world, she was everyone's buddy and she will live in their memories forever. Visitation taking place on Wednesday March 8 and Thursday March 9 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. The funeral service took place on Friday March 10, 2 pm at St. James Anglican Church, Channel officiated by Rev. Harold Harvey, internment will follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. May 31, 1945 - March 11, 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Marie McIsaac announces her passing on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook, NL at the age of 71 years. Marie was predeceased by her loving husband George McIsaac. She leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories her children Sharon (Andrew), Beverly and Earl and her stepchildren Cathy and Gloria McIsaac. Loving grandmother of Bradley, Carolyn, Deven, Gavin, Steven, Zachary and great grandmother of Madison and Jackson. Marie will forever remain in the hearts of her family and her many special friends. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. The funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, March 22, 11 am at St. Sylvester's Roman Catholic Church in South Branch, NL. PORTER, CLAUDE
December 24, 1934 - March 16, 2017

On March 16, 2017 our lives were forever changed when our loving husband, father grandfather, brother and friend Claude Porter, aged 82 years passed away at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Claude or 'Porter' as many called him was one of the pioneers of the growing community of MacDougall's beach where he established Porters Peak in 1965 (51 years). "The country" was his favourite place on earth to be where he took pride in tending his gardens, especially his tomatoes. Born at Fox Island, Claude was the son of the late Lewis and Elizabeth Porter, who first moved to Port Aux Basques in 1937. He was predeceased by his sister Maude Lushman (Jake), brothers; Gilbert Porter (Priscilla), Cecil Porter, Frank Porter (Ann); Brothers in law William Devoy, Max Dutot, Charlie Dutot (Nancy), Bill Dutot (Mabel). He leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories his devoted wife and dedicated caregiver Gladys (Dutot) of 59 years, his only son Jim Porter (Heather) of Port aux Basques, his only daughter Michelle (Maurice) Rumbolt of Stephenville. Claude was very proud of his children. He will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren; Kyla Porter, Kelsey Porter, Angela Clevett (Stephen) and precious great granddaughter Charley. He will forever remain in the hearts of his sister Leona Billard (Robert) of Oakville, ON, brother Allan (Classie) Porter of Halifax NS, sisters in law; Alma Porter, Norma Dutot, Margaret Devoy, brothers in law Dan Dutot (Marilyn) David Dutot all of Port aux Basques and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Most people in Port aux Basques will remember Claude as the imperial oilman as he delivered oil to their homes in all sorts of weather. Over the years Claude was a member of the Rangers, dart teams, and the 50 plus community. In keeping with in his wishes cremation has taken place, there will be no formal visitation and internment will follow at a later date. However there will be a memorial on March 22, 2017 at the fire hall in Port aux Basques from 2-5 pm. The family will be celebrating Claude's life at this time and it is open to the public. SEYMOUR, GEORGE ROBERT
June 1, 1938 - March 20, 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Robert Seymour announces his sudden passing at his residence in Isle aux Morts on Monday, March 20, at the age of 78 years. Born in Isle aux Morts, George was the son of the late Philip and Frances Seymour. He was predeceased by his loving wife and life long partner Marion in 2009, sister Mary (George) Hulan, father and mother in law Ben and Cassie Hayman, brothers in law Bert Hayward, Bill Fraser and Alex Bell. A proud father he will forever remain in the hearts of his children, Denise (Tom) Herritt of Isle aux Morts, Wilhelmena (Don) Hardy of St. John's NL. Poppy will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren; Fraser (Amy), Faron (Trula), Jeremy (Shelley) and Philip, great grandchildren; Emily, Parker, Kendra, and Quinn. He will be fondly remembered by his sisters; Lenora Bell, Lavina Fraser and brother Thomas (Una) Seymour. He had a very special relationship as well with his sisters in law and will be sadly missed by; Marie Hayward, Wilhelmena (Cyril) Murphy, Mary (Donald) Squibb, Janet (Arch) Kearley, Alvina Hayman and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many friends. In keeping with George's wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation took place on Thursday, March 23, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle aux Morts from where the funeral service took place on Friday, March 24, 2 pm, officiated by Rev. Maryrose Colbourne. Internment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in memory of George can be made to Holy Spirit Anglican Church. June 8, 1942 - March 12, 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Raymond Wells announces his passing on Sunday, March 12 at Central Newfoundland Regional Hospital in Grand Falls at the age of 74 years. A former resident of Port aux Basques, Ray was the son of the late George and Ella Wells. He was predeceased by his stepchildren Zigmond Grzybowski, Christopher Grzybowski and sisters Rosabelle and Eileen. Leaving to mourn with many loving memories are his wife Beatrice of 36 years, their son Timothy (Luisa) Wells of Vancouver BC. His children; Kimberly (Bruce) Mackinnon, Raymond Jr., Lisa (Andrew) Wash and Melanie (Vitally) Mokryakova all of Halifax NS, stepson Andy (Cindy) Grzybowskiof Mill Bay BC, grandchildren; Thomas, Anna, Grace and Kate. He will remain in the hearts of his brothers Jack (Elsie) Wells, Aubrey (Lorraine) Wells and Wayne (Marie) Wells all of Port aux Basques. Special cousins Jack Elms, Norma Legge, Joyce Kenner and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. In keeping with Raymond's wishes cremation has taken place. A private family internment will take place at a later date in Port aux Basques.
