ANDERSON, Wilfred
1932-2016
July 10, 1932 - March 29, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Wilfred Anderson announce his passing on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 with his loving family by his side at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques at the age of 83 years. Born in Port-aux-Basques, he was the son of the late Thomas and Georgina (Musseau) Anderson. Wilfred was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his devoted sons, Calvin (Donna), Sydney Mines, Frazer (Stella), St. John’s and Wade (Tanya), Paradise, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, friends and a very special niece, Audrey Lomond. He was predeceased by his wife, Naomi Anderson, brothers, Israel, Samuel, and Max, and sisters, Sophie Anderson and Alice Bickel. The family will be receiving friends at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Port-aux-Basques on Wednesday, March 30th 2-4 & 7-9 PM and Thursday, March 31th 2-4 & 7-9 PM.The funeral service will take place on Friday, April 1 at 2:00 p.m, at St. James Anglican Church with Rev. Clayton Billard officiating. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church or to St. James Anglican Cemetery Fund. BARRY, KYLE WILLIAM
August 16, 1987 - March 30, 2016

It is with shattered hearts that we have to say goodbye to our wonderful son. Kyle William Barry lost his fight with Cockayne Syndrome on March 30, 2016 at the Western Memorial Hospital at the age of 28 years. Kyle was predeceased by his grandfather William Barry, sister Shianne Barry on March 16, 2015, brother Justin Anderson and aunt Dorothy Barry. Leaving to mourn with many fond and precious memories are his loving parents Charles and Maureen Barry, paternal grandmother Wilhelmina Barry Irishtown NL, maternal grandparents George and Marie Downey O'Regan's. Uncle and aunts; Leo Barry, Mary Ann Barry both of Irishtown NL, Rita (Bernard) Gale O'Regan's, John Downey, Diane (Victor) Walmsley, Clyde (Donna) Downey all of Ontario, George (Lauri) Downey Saskatchewan, Karen Downey (Marvin) Port aux Basques, David (Charlene) Downey St. John's NL, Susan (Brian) Fiander Mount Uniacke NS and a large circle of extended family and many friends. The family will be receiving friends at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Upper Ferry on Friday from 7-9 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The mass of Christian Burial taking place on Monday April 4, 10:30 am at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church officiated by Father Lee Lainey, interment will follow at Mount St. Thomas Roman Catholic Cemetery. August 01, 1927 - March 31, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alice Croucher (nee Hatcher) announces her passing on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port-aux-Basques at the age of 88 years. Alice was the daughter of the late Charlotte Jane and Howard Hatcher. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Croucher, son Ralph Croucher (Jr), brothers, Reginald, John, Alexander, Cecil and Dave, sisters, Emma Leamon and Caroline Burgess, son-in-law, Austin Keeping. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children, Max (Winnifred), Calvin (Beverly), Evelyn all of Burnt Islands, Monford, Valleyfield and Tony, Brampton, ON, daughter-in-law, Sheila, 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren. She will forever remain in the hearts of her brothers and sisters, Victor (Lorraine), Burnt Islands, and Donald (Selina), North Sydney, Marie Meade, Fox-Roost, Margaret Lawrence, Burnt Islands, sisters-in-law, Christine, Minnie and Geraldine, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, many friends, and her three special care-givers, Leona Keeping, Melissa Chaulk and Sheila Croucher. Visitation was held at her daughter’s Evelyn residence in Burnt Islands, on Friday and Saturday. The funeral service took place on Sunday, April 3 at 2:00 p.m., at St. George’s Anglican Church in Burnt Islands with Rev. Jeffery Petten officiating. Interment to followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery. Flowers accepted or donations in memory of Alice can be made to the family. GALE, GERARD CLEMENT (JED)
December 11, 1951 - March 28, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerard Gale (Jed) announces his passing on Monday March 28 at Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 64 years. Gerard was the son of the late John and Elsie Gale of South Branch. He was also predeceased by close brother Thomas Gale, special niece Nikkitta Pearce, many close family, friends, mother and father in law Mary and Emmanuel Gillam. Leaving to mourn with many fond and precious memories, his wife Margaret (nee Gillam) of 44 years, daughters; Shelley Gale (Timothy Agombar) Millville, Jennifer Gale (Scott Burchell), Corner Brook, grandchildren; Cecilia Agombar, Gerard Agombar and a large circle of brothers and sisters, extended family, nieces, nephews and many, many friends. His colourful language and storytelling will surely be missed. In keeping with his wishes, cremation took place. A celebration of Gerard's life took place on Saturday April 2, 10:30 a.m. At St. Sylvester's Roman Catholic Church, South Branch officiated by Father Lee Lainey, interment will follow at a later date. Following the service there will be a reception held at the South Branch Social Club. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in memory of Gerard can be made to the Codroy Valley Recreation Association. November 13, 1978 - March 25, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Barry Hatcher announces his passing surrounded by his loving family at his residence in Hammonds Plains NS after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday March 25, 2016 at the age of 37 years. He leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories his loving and devoted wife Crystal (nee Legge) of 11 years. Proud daddy to his little girl Rianne. He will also forever remain in the hearts of his Dad and Mom Israel and Mildred Hatcher Rose Blanche, sister Theresa (Albert) Cox Halifax NS, niece Michaela Cox, nephew Michael Cox, grandmother Mary Billard Rose Blanche, mother and father in law Marilyn and Joe Legge Twillingate NL, sisters in law Sherry (Robbie) Randell Gander NL, Hannah Legge Stephenville NL, brother in law Corey Legge (Aldena) Labrador City NL, nieces Lauren Legge, Ava Randell and a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Barry was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Walter Billard, paternal grandparents Augustus and Beatrice Hatcher and Aunt Betty Billard. Barry's greatest joy was being daddy to his little girl Rianne. He was very dedicated to his family and friends and gave generously of his time to help anyone in need. He loved the outdoors and the time that he spent down the bay at the cabin, he will be in the hearts of those who loved him forever. Visitation took place on Tuesday March 29 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at St. Michael's and All Angel's Anglican Church in Rose Blanche from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday March 30, 11 a.m. officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Petten, interment will follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the VG Palliative Care Team, Halifax NS. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clayton Lillington announce his passing on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 with his loving family by his side at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques at the age of 93 years. Born in Isle-aux-Morts, he was the son of the late Nelson and Susanna (Knott) Lillington. Clayton was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children, Ruth (Hickman) Organ, Isle aux Morts, Rosalie (George) Best, North Sydney, NS, Russell (Blanche) Lillington, Susanna (Rodney) Wells and Herman Lillington, daughter-in-law’s, Christina Lillington and Vera Lillington, all of Isle-aux-Morts, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, companion, Elsie LeFrense, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Ida Lillington, sons, Clayton Lillington Jr and Richard Lillington, brother, Abbott Lillington, sisters, Una Oliver-Hart, Elizabeth LeFrense, Rachel Harvey, Maryann Coleman, Dorothy MacDonald and Ruth Lillington. MacISAAC, Mary Catherine
(July 13, 1919 - March 4, 2016)

Passed peacefully away at Dr. Charles L LeGrow Hospital in Port aux Basques in her 97th year Mary Catherine MacIsaac (nee Cormier), predeceased by her husband Alexander MacIsaac and parents Lucy and George Cormier, sisters; Theresa, Jean, brothers; Bill, Jarrett and Leo. Survived by her sister Ann Compton (California), sister -in-law Margaret Cormier (Codroy Valley). Mary's children Ronald (Doreen) Codroy Valley, Sandra (Zane) Kamloops BC, Sharon (Dennis) Labrador City, Elaine (Ray) Petawawa ON, Geraldine Annapolis Valley NS, Rosemarie (Brian) Victoria BC, Gerard (Angie) Dryden ON, Tony Codroy Valley, Billy (Karen) Mount Pearl, Margaret (Brian) Codroy Valley, Leo (Liz) Mississauga ON, Madonna (Frank) Dryden ON, 24 Grandchildren and 36 Great Grandchildren. Her special caregivers Shelley McArthur and Rhea Hilliard, special family friend Sheila O'Handley and her pets that she loved so dearly Snowflake, Smokey and Garfield. Special thank you to Dr. Blecher and the nursing staff of the Acute Care unit and all those who touched her life with music and song. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of life service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 8 at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Upper Ferry. It is with great sadness that the family of late Edward Munden Jr. announces his passing at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on March 8, 2016 at the age of 77 years. He was the son of the late Edward Sr. and Maria (nee Parsons) Munden. He was also predeceased by his granddaughter Cynthia, brothers-in-law Harry Bond (Sarah) and Stanley Bond, mother and father-in-law Annie & Hubert Bond. He leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories his devoted wife Melida of 49 years. It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Donalda Osmond (nee Smith) announces her passing on Thursday March 17 at Western Memorial Hospital at the age of 65 years. Donalda was predeceased by her father Gordon Smith and mother Cleophus Brake, her paternal grandparents John "Jack" Smith and Julia (nee MacIsaac) who raised Donalda, brother Wallace and sister Diane. She leaves to mourn with many fond memories her devoted husband Norman of 45 years. Her three children; Dean (Laura), Treena, Natasha (Brad). Six loving grandchildren; Patrick, John, Dillon, Matthew, Brennan and Jullia. Sisters and brothers; Audrey, Sheila (Butch), Allan (Sharon), Cyril (Linda), Guy (Elaine), Jocelyn (Larry), Arlene, Colleen (Steve), Dean (Christine), Randy (Sheila), Rodney. Brothers and sisters in law, many nieces, nephews and a large circle of extended family and many friends especially Charlie and Judy Edmunds. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving friends on Monday March 21, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. The funeral mass will take place on Tuesday March 22, 11 a.m. at St. Sylvester's Roman Catholic Church in South Branch, officiated by Father Lee Lainey, interment will take place at a later date. To some it was seen as a blessing, to some others not so much. She was always up front and honesty was always important to her. Story telling was her forte, she was captivating and comical and no one could tell a story quite like her. Donalda will be fondly remembered for her sense of humour, her true wit and most of all her unforgettable, hearty laugh. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Benjamin Garfield (Garf) Seymour announces his passing on Saturday March 26 surrounded by his loving family at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 71 years. Born in Isle aux Morts, Garf was the son of the late John and Julia Seymour. He was also predeceased by his mother and father-in-law Mary & John Hodder, sisters Mildred Carroll and Susanna MacDonald, sister-in-law Marion Hodder and many deceased brothers-in-law of the Seymour and Hodder families. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his devoted wife Shirley (nee Hodder) of 47 years, Proud father of Paul Seymour Red Deer AB, Cavell Seymour (Curtis) Margaree, Debbie (Ernie) Meade Fox Roost, Marlene (Marcelle) Dominie Margaree. A loving grandfather he will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren Josh Seymour, Patrick Meade, Kaitlyn Dominie, Tyson Meade. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edna Wall (nee MacDonald) announces her sudden passing at her residence in Cape Ray on Wednesday March 2, at the age of 79 years. Edna was the daughter of the late Ralph and Mary MacDonald. She was also predeceased by her husband Joseph Wall, son Wayne Wall, brothers; Clevus MacDonald, Colin MacDonald, Gerald MacDonald, daughter in law Margaret Wall. A loving mother, Edna will be fondly remembered by her children; Earl Wall, Marjorie (Steve) McCarthy, George Wall (Marlene) all of Port aux Basques, Yvonne (Kevin) McDougall, Vicki (Elias) Osmond all of Cape Ray, Alma (Bert) Francis St. Andrew's NB, Ralph (Marina) Wall, Cletus (Catherine) Wall all of Cape Ray, Virgy Wall (Garry) Middle Sackville NS, Roy Wall Prince George BC, Michael Wall Cape Ray, June (Enos) Skeard Cole Harbour NS and daughter in law Wanda Short Cape Ray.
