MUSSEAU, Lillian Blanche

Aug. 4, 1926 - March 2, 2007

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lillian Blanche Musseau (nee Button) announce her passing on Friday, March 2nd, 2007 in her 80th year. She is survived by husband of 61 years, James O. Musseau; sister Rose (Ron Stirling) of Corner Brook; children: Clifford (Margaret) of Port aux Basques, Douglas (Catherine) of Grand Falls-Windsor and Diane (Baxter Strickland) of Port aux Basques; grandchildren: Todd (Natalie) of St. Andrews, Juanita (Randy Farrell) of Eastern Passage, NS, Derek (Tina) of Edmonton, AB and Michelle of Toronto, ON and a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by son Roland; parents Phillip and Mary (nee Osmond) Button; brothers Oscar and Richard; step-brother Clifford Button and step-sister Pearl Baker. Visitation took place on March 2nd from 7-9 p.m. and March 3rd from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port aux Basques. The Funeral Service was held on Sunday, March 4th at Faith Pentecostal Church in Port aux Basques, officiated by Pastor Craig Lane. Interment followed at the Faith Pentecostal Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home.

BILLARD, George Henry Sr.
Grand Bruit, NL
1928 - 2007

Passed peacefully away at the Calder Health Care Centre in Burgeo on Sunday, March 4th, 2007 George Billard Sr. at the age of 78 years. Born at Grand Bruit, he was the son of the late Henry and Bessie (nee Riles) Billard. He was also predeceased by brothers: Jack, Eric, Sim, and sister Mabel. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving family, wife of 44 years, Edna; son Ches (Tammy), grandson Andrew; sisters: Lily (Frank), Burgeo and Julia (Bob), ON; brothers: Wilbert (Edith), N.S., Rodney (Madeline), NS, Michael (Georgina), Grand Bank, Gerald (Michilen), ON and Wendell, ON, along with a large circle of other family members and friends. Visitation took place on Monday, March 5th at Grand Bruit United Church, from where the Funeral Service took place on Tuesday, March 6th at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Dr. W. Cole. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques.

SMITH, Andrew S.
On Sunday, March 4, 2007 Andrew S. Smith (age 77) of South Branch passed away suddenly. He was the son of and predeceased by John and Julia (MacIsaac) Smith; brothers, Archie, George, Charles and Gordon; and sister, Elizabeth. He was survived by sister, Elizabeth; brothers, John and Reg (who passed away March 14th). In honour of Andrew’s wishes he was cremated. He was buried March 6th at St. Sylvester’s Cemetery. Thank you to relatives and friends for your love and support during our recent loss. Your expression of love and sympathy through those of you who brought food and sent cards was deeply appreciated. To those of you who showed other kindnesses like, Guy, Tanya, Audrey, the staff of Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre, the staff of East Haven, the South Branch Social Centre, Joe Martin, Brian Wall, Lydwena and especially Father Lainey, we’ll be forever grateful. Thank you from the bottom of our saddened and grateful hearts.

SEAWARD, Vera Joan
April 20, 1952 - March 9, 2007

Passed away peacefully at her residence in St. Andrews on Friday, March 9, 2007, Vera Joan Seaward (nee Dawe) at the age of 54 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband, Eric and children, Jody-Lee Farrah (Shane), Erica Keyes (Ryan) and Andrew, all of Fort McMurray, Alberta; mother, Marion Dawe of Port aux Basques; brothers and sisters, John Dawe of Dartmouth, NS, Patsy Bryne (Kevin) of Sherridon, MB, Tom Dawe (Mary) of Port aux Basques and Debbie Pike (Ross) of Labrador City; mother-in-law, Frances Seaward of Port aux Basques and a large circle of in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Joan was predeceased by her father, Thomas Dawe in 1996, sister-in-law, Angela Dawe in 1997 and father-in-law, James Seaward in 2005. Visitation took place at East Haven Funeral Home on Sunday, 7-9 p.m. and Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services were held at Faith Pentecostal Tabernacle at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, officiated by Pastor Craig Lane. Interment followed at the Pentecostal Cemetery, TCH, Port aux Basques. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.

EARL, Jeffrey Patrick
Burgeo, NL
March 7, 1963 - March 11, 2007

Passed away at The Calder Health Care Centre on Sunday, March 11th, 2007, Jeffrey Patrick Earl. He leaves to mourn his wife Tracey; sons: Clayton and Adam of Burgeo; sister Jeanette (Steward) of Qatar; two brothers: Wayne (Diane) of Vancouver and Derek (Martha) of St. John's; mother and father-in-law: Clayton and Elizabeth Dominey; sisters-in-law: Diane (Sam), Sandra (Bill); brothers-in-law: Bill (Nina), Todd (Gloria), Clyde (Evan), as well as a large circle of nephews, nieces and friends. He was predeceased by his father George; mother Catherine and brother Brian. The Funeral Service was held at St. John The Evangelist Church on Tuesday, March 13th at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend George Childs. The family wish to thank Janet and Glenn Dominey and the staff at Fillatre's Funeral Home, as well as the many family members and dear friends who helped out and provided support during such a trying time.

OSMOND, Mary Ellen
October 2, 1954 - March 14, 2007

Passed away peacefully at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Wednesday, March 14, 2007, Mary Ellen Osmond (nee Francis) at the age of 52 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Terry (Glenda) of Stephenville, Wayne, Tracey (Chesley Lomond) and Harvey all of Port aux Basques. Grandchildren: Stephen, Hillary and Brandon. Mother: Alice (Art) of Port aux Basques, sisters and brothers: Phyllis (Jerry), Lorna (Glen), Lloyd (Audrey), Wade (Cynthia) all of Port aux Basques, Johnny (Bertha) of Dartmouth, NS, Darlene (Danny), Denise (Walter), Tina (Colin) all of Port aux Basques, special friend Thomas Snook of Port aux Basques and a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Mary was predeceased by her father Harvey in 1984 and brother Keith in 2006. Visitation took place at East Haven Funeral Home on Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services were held at St. James' Anglican Church at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2007. KEEPING, Clifford
June 7, 1939 - March 14, 2007

Passed away peacefully at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Wednesday, March 14, 2007, Clifford Keeping of Burnt Islands at the age of 67 years. Born at Burnt Islands he was the son of the late Wilfred and Estella May Keeping (nee Munden). He was also predeceased by his children, Clifford Reginald Jonathan and Alvin Isreal; father-in-law, Isreal Walters; and brother-in-law, Chester Keeping. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving family: wife, Betty of 47 years marriage; children, Terry (Margo) Keeping Burnt Islands, Clifford (Marsha) Keeping Bishop's Cove, NL, Stella (Jimmy) Organ, Isle aux Morts, Josie (David) Keeping Burnt Islands, Kimberly (Emmanuel) Herritt Lark Harbour, NL, Barbara Ann (Lorie) Croft Liscombe, NS and Eleanor (Grant) Ball Sackville, NS; grandchildren, Terrance (Stacey), Jason (Kelly), Melody, Karlie, Catherine, Jimmy (Clara), Amanda, David, Coralee, Patrick, Mitchell, Patricia, Sheldon, Mark Allan, Gordon and Emily; great-grandchildren, Georgia, T.J., Stephen, Danielle and Tristan. MATTHEWS, Edna Victoria
November 13, 1937 - March 15, 2007

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edna Victoria Matthews announce her passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Thursday, March 15, 2007 at the age of 69 years. Born at Port aux Basques she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Ester Lomond. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Sydney, John Lewis and Harry; brothers-in-law, Isaac Lomond, Phillip Lomond, Gilbert Matthews, John Buttery, Wesley Kettle, Randell Wells, Jonas Pearce and Ralph Kettle; sisters-in-law, Maud Wells, Dorcas Kettle and Julie Pearce. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her loving family: husband, Fred of 50 years marriage; children, Lewis (Cathy), Carl (Darlene) and Trina (Lorne) Sheaves all of Port aux Basques; grandchildren, Corey (Orrillia) Matthews of Port aux Basques, Christopher Matthews of Halifax, NS, Joey Matthews, Jeremie Matthews and Amber Sheaves all of Port aux Basques and great-granddaughter, Emily Matthews; brothers and sisters, Melinda Lomond, Rosanna Lomond (Jerome), Evelyn (Reg) Osmond, Elsie (Reg) Taylor, Gladys (Albert) Seymour, George (Angeline) Lomond, Bob (Margaret) Lomond, Fred (Ruth) Lomond, Garf (Sandra) Lomond all of Port aux Basques, and Eneas (Linda) Lomond of Margaree; sisters-in-law, Jane Buttery, Elsie Matthews, Betty Lomond all of Port aux Basques, Susie Kettle of St. John's and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many many friends. Visitation took place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Monday, March 19, 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Grand Bay officiated by Rev. George Critchell. Interment followed at St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery, Trans Canada Highway. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.
Edna was a kind, loving woman who will surely be missed by all of those who were blessed to have had her as a part of their lives. We will always cherish the memories we have of our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

ORGAN, Cecilia Agnes
February 5, 1951 - March 17, 2007

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Cecilia Agnes Organ announce her passing on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 56 years. Born at Carbonear, NL she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Power. She was also predeceased by her father-in-law, George Organ; and brother-in-law, Walter Thorne. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories: husband, Roger; sons, Jeremy (Donalda) of Gander, NL and Joey (Emily) of Alberta; two precious granddaughters, Jane and Anna; two sisters, Margaret (John) George of Carbonear, NL and Barbara (Reg) Garland of Mount Pearl, NL; one brother, Joseph of Alberta; mother-in-law, Sadie Organ of Isle aux Morts; brothers-in-law, Rev. John (Irene) of Ottawa, Arch (Gladys), Hick (Ruth), Ronnie and Freeman all of Isle aux Morts; sisters-in-law, Melissa (Bill) Parsons of Sydney, NS, Jessie Thorne of Halifax, NS, Ann (Max) Clarke of Rose Blanche, Wanda of Victoria, BC, Susie (Phil) Hicks of Victoria, BC and a large number of relatives, friends and co-workers. BRAGG, Madeline Hannah
August 20, 1922 - March 18, 2007

Passed away peacefully at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Saturday, March 17, 2007 Madeline Hannah Bragg at the age of 84 years. Born at Grand Falls she was the daughter of the late Hannah and Thomas Tremblett. She was also predeceased by her husband, Nathan; daughter, Sheila; sisters, Margaret, Gertie, Bride, Mary and Blanche. She leaves to mourn with precious memories her loving children, Betty (Herb) Lee of Wetaskiwin, AB, Arthur (Judy) of Dartmouth, NS, Junior (Betty) of Port aux Basques, David of Toronto, Philip of St. John's, Nelson (Joan) of St. Andrew's, Wanda (Ivan) Clevett of Port aux Basques, Cathy (Paul) Murphy of St. John's, Elaine (Geoff) Cook of Port aux Basques, 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Lorne Munden of Lower Sackville, NS; sister, Jenny Murphy of Corner Brook and a large circle of family and friends. Visitation took place on Sunday 7-9 p.m. and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elsie Belle Keeping (nee Keeping) announce her passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at the age of 86 years. Born at Port aux Basques, daughter of the late Theodore and Maude Keeping. Predeceased by her husband, Gordon in 1965; twin sons at birth; son, Wilfred Keeping; grandsons, Michael Noseworthy, Roderick Sheppard; and son-in-law, Frank Sheppard. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories seven daughters, Juanita Sheppard, Stephenville Crossing, NL, Leverne (Horace) Meade, Loretta (Greg) Pearce, Port aux Basques, Dulcie Halifax, NS, Sharon (Robert) Seaward Port aux Basques, Jocelyn (Rob) Bucham Prince George, BC, and Venita (Jerome) Dennis Piccadilly, NL; seven sons, Roderick (Margaret) Mount Pearl, NL, Winston (Ann), Richard (Kay), David (Karen), Melvin (Faye), Roy (Norma) all of Port aux Basques and Kevin of Prince George, BC; 35 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Keeping, Violet Keeping of Port aux Basques, Stella Keeping of Whitney Pier, NS; brother-in-law, William Payne of Mission, BC; and a large circle of nieces, nephews and special friends including Lena Billard, Mildred Squarey, Harry Pardy and Regis Battiste and very special friends and staff at the Dr. Charles L. BATTISTE, John
November 28, 1927 - March 29, 2007

It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Battiste of Port aux Basques announce his passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Thursday, March 29, 2007 at the age of 79 years. Born at Port aux Basques he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth Battiste. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Linda Deanna; brothers, Thomas, Charles and Lewis; sister, Olive Clarke (Gordon); brothers-in-law, Edward Lace, Jim McNeil and Albert Rodgers; and sister-in-law, Jane Battiste. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his family: wife, Emily of 56 years marriage; daughters, Cora (Art) Kettle, Grand Bay, Betty Lou (Willoughby) Bolt, Grand LePierre, NL, and Florence (Jim) Cochrane, Paradise, NL; son, Johnny (Kim Carter) Port aux Basques; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Lillian Rogers and Molly MacNeil, Port aux Basques; sister-in-law, Alfreda Battiste, Port aux Basques and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation took place on Friday and Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Sunday, April 1, 2007, 2 p.m. at St. James Anglican Church Channel, officiated by Rev. Canon Hugh Fudge. Interment followed at St. James’ Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques 695-2300.
