Widow of the late Gordon Colley and daughter of the late Lewis and Leah George. Also predeceased by infant sons George and Stewart; brothers Reuben George, Arthur George and Gerald George; and sisters Mary Tuck, Anne Renouf, Effie Vivian and Edith Burry. Florence Colley is fondly remembered by many as the lively force behind the Gordon F. Colley General Store in Channel, and for her kindness and generosity within the community. In her late years, she was repaid many fold by the support she received from her friends as her health gradually failed. The family would like to especially thank Edna and Eric Read, Sue Osmond and Helen and Leo Coffin for their kindness beyond measure. We would also like to thank the caregivers who kept her so long and so comfortably in her own home, and the wonderful medical staff at the Charles LeGrow Centre who provided gentle and loving care. "I think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched for nothing loved is ever lost, and she was loved so much." Visitation took place on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place at St. James' Anglican Church Channel on Wednesday, March 8 at 2 p.m. officiated by Rev. Canon Hugh Fudge. Interment followed at St. James' Cemetery High Street.
