Passed away in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia on Friday March 5, 2004, William (Billy) Bond of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, (formerly of Rose Blanche, NL). Born in St. John's he was the son of Stanley and Mamie Bond. He leaves to mourn his parents, Stanley and Mamie Bond of Rose Blanche, NL; one sister, Lorraine Bond of Harriet's Field, NS; nephew, Brady Strickland; grandmother, Jane Heron of Rose Blanche, NL, and large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Visitation took place on Monday March 8, 2004 at St. Michael's and All Angels' Anglican Church in Rose Blanche. Funeral Services took place on Tuesday March 9, 2004, 2 p.m. at St. Michael's and All Angels' Anglican Church Rose Blanche officiated by Rev. Clayton Billard. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.

CROUCHER, Cyril
August 20, 1922 - March 8, 2004

Passed peacefully away at his home, surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness on Monday, March 8, 2004, Cyril Croucher of Burnt Islands, age 81 years. He leaves to mourn sons, Clayton (Bernice), Whale Cove, George (Sarah), Burnt Islands; daughters, Lillian Strowbridge (Samuel), Harbour Breton, Marina Fudge (Gary), Burnt Islands; his brothers, Ralph (Alice), John (Lucy), Burnt Islands, Freeman (Helen), Lower Sackville, NS; sisters, Maggie MacDonald (Percy) Lower Sackville, NS, Mary Whelan, Halifax, NS; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, long time friend James Ransome as well as other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his wife Abigail of 58 years, his parents Dollena and Frederick and by sisters: Annie and Martha, and brothers: Maxwell, James and George. The funeral service was held on Thursday, March 11, 2004 from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Port aux Basques. Interment followed in the Jehovah's Witnesses Cemetery, Burnt Islands. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port aux Basques.

MCNEIL, James Emanuel
1927-2004

Passed away peacefully at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Monday, March 8, 2004, James Emanuel McNeil of Port aux Basques at the age of 76 years. Born at Port aux Basques, he was the son of the late Jack and Martha Jane McNeil. He was predeceased by his daughter, Linda; his parents, John and Martha; brothers, Arthur and Fred McNeil; sisters, Martha Osmond and Elizabeth Ludee. He leaves to mourn with fond memories his loving wife, Molly of 56 years marriage; and six children, Lewis (Kathleen) of Edmonton Alberta, Gordon (Marie) of Cape Ray, John (Holly), Wayne, Donnie (Glenda), Donna (Claude) Bragg, all of Port aux Basques; 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; one brother, William (Elsie) of Port aux Basques; sisters, Minnie Matthews of Port aux Basques, and Mildred (Malcolm) Campbell of Codroy Valley; sisters-in-law, Violet McNeil and Lillian Rodgers of Port aux Basques; brother-in-law, John (Emily) Battiste of Port aux Basques and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation took place on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2004 at St. James' Anglican Church, Channel, officiated by Rev. Hugh Fudge. Interment followed at St. James' Anglican cemetery, Barachois Hill. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.

LEFRENSE, Edna Emily
1940 - 2004

Passed away peacefully at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Tuesday March 09, 2004, Edna Emily LeFrense of Isle aux Morts at the age of 63 years. Born at Cul De Sac, NL, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Sarah Green. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Freeman and Garfield Green; sisters, Leah Prosser and Annie Lafosse; brothers-in-law, Enoch Prosser, Clayton LeFrense, Hector Best, Garland Hayman, Alexander Durnford, and Lloyd Strickland; sister-in-law, Barbara Crane. She leaves to mourn her loving husband, John LeFrense of 45 years marriage; five children, Kathy (George) Harvey of Burlington, Ont., Paul (Cathy) LeFrense of Mississauga, Ont., Tracy (Glen) Billard of Burlington Ont., Steven (Tina) LeFrense of Burlington, Ont., Debbie (Jeff) Luckiw of Boston, Mass., and six grandchildren, sisters, Rita Durnford of Port aux Basques, Julia Strickland, Margaret (Ed) Warford of Isle aux Morts; one brother, Woodrow (Linda) Green of Isle aux Morts; sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law, Betty Mauger, Doris Hayman, Dulcie Green, Mary Ann (Frank) Durnford, Una (Tom) Seymour, Abbott (Ann) LeFrense, Randolph (Staria) LeFrense, Sue (George) Crane, and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation took place on Wednesday and Thursday at Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle aux Morts. Funeral services took place at 11 a.m. on Friday March 12, 2003 at Holy Spirit Anglican Church, Isle aux Morts, officiated by Rev. Hubert Vallis. COURTNEY, Eleanor Lola
1936-2004

Passed away peacefully at the extended care unit of the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center on Tuesday March 9, 2004, Eleanor Lola Courtney of Port aux Basques at the age of 67 years. Born at Burgeo, she was the daughter of the late Elias and Susan Anderson whom she had already been predeceased by. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Margaret Buckland, and Ethel Menchions. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her only daughter, Elaine Gilliam (John Hayward); grandson, Jay Gilliam (Pam McDougall), and great-granddaughter, Alaina all of Port aux Basques; brother, Fred (Maggie) Anderson of Dartmouth, NS; sister, Melva Tremblay of British Columbia, Chester Courtney of Burgeo, NL , and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation took place on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2003 at St. James' Anglican Church, officiated by Rev. Hugh Fudge. Passed away peacefully at the Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre on Tuesday, March 16, 2004, Myrtle Strickland (Engram) at the age of 83 years. Born at Little Bay, Hermitage Bay, she was the daughter of the late James and Martha Engram. She was predeceased by her husband, Reginald Strickland; and by brother, Hubert Engram; family members Bert, Harold, and Gertie Strickland. She leaves o mourn with fond memories Hayward (Faye), Dartmouth, N.S., Lloyd (Mary), Port aux Basques, Calvin (Brenda), Port aux Basques, Winnie Parsons (Roy), Rose Blanche, Norman (Kathy), Hatchet Lake, N.S., and Karl (Cathy), Port aux Basques; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; as well as sisters, Eileen Strickland, Hermitage, Effie Cole, Halifax, N.S., and one brother, Clayton Engram, Fortune as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation took place on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port aux Basques. The funeral service was held on Thursday, March 18, 2004 from St. James' Anglican Church, Channel with Rev. Hugh Fudge officiating. Interment followed at St. James' Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Passed away peacefully at his residence in Burnt Islands on Wednesday, March 17, 2004, William Henry Munden at the age of 90 years. Born in Burnt Islands he was the son of the late Joseph William and Isabella Munden. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Ellen; his parents; brothers, Fred Munden, John Munden, Thomas (Olive) Munden and Kenneth Munden; son-in-law, Sidney Ransome; sister-in-law, Hazel Munden; brother-in-law, Wilfred Keeping. He leaves to mourn with loving memories his children, Allan (Eileen) Munden, Gerald (Lorraine) Munden, Elaine (Wayne) Croucher, Beulah (Rodger) Ransome, Laverne (Gary) Carter, Henry (Mary) Munden, Norton (Cynthia) Munden, Lorne (Eileen) Munden, Theresa May (Jerome) Keeping, Trevor (Faye) Munden, all of Burnt Islands, and Lenny (Stephanie) Munden of Prespanou, BC; 29 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph Munden; sister, Stella May Keeping of Burnt Islands; sisters-in-law, Leah Munden and Annie Munden of Burnt Islands and a large circle of family and friends. KENDELL, Frank

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Frank L. Kendell announce his passing at his residence in Woodville on Saturday, March 20, 2004 in his 93rd year. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories six children, Margaret Reynolds of New Hampshire, U.S.A., Ruth Reid (Henry), Codroy, Joyce MacArthur, Woodville, Winston, Lewis and Lawrence Kendell of Woodville; nine grandchildren, Kim (Scott), Carolyn (Darrin), Michelle (Carl), Lisa, Donna, Randy, Carol (Mike) and Ray (Holly), three great-grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; also three step grandchildren, Robert, George, and Donald Cormier; one brother, Wallace, Nova Scotia; sisters, Blanche, Nova Scotia and Mildred, Ontario, sisters-in-law, Hilda Kendell and Bess Hann as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Ada; second wife, Anita; son, Bobby; parents, John Robert and Annie Kendell (Grant); brothers, George (Hilda), Fred (Betty), Arch (Gladys); sisters, Margaret (Lawrence), Lillian (J.R.) and Ada (Les). Visitation took place on March 21 and 22 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Codroy from where the funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Evelyn Smith and Rev. George Critchell officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port aux Basques.

Passed away peacefully on March 30, 2004 at her residence, Norma Jessie Noel of Port aux Basques in her 77th year. Predeceased by her son, Richard England in 1996; brother, Fred Cox in 1996; sister, Evelyn Currie in 1992; brothers, Leslie and David Cox. Leaving to mourn daughters, Barbara Kernes (Marc) of New York, Katy England of Toronto; son, Graham and Sue England of Ohio, USA; eight grandchildren, Heather, Shawn, William, Elizabeth, Jordan, Jim, Chris and John; cousin, Walter Mackay and family and a circle of friends. Visitation took place on Friday, April 2, and Saturday, April 3, at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral service took place on Sunday, April 4, 2004, at St. James' Anglican Church officiated by Rev. Hugh Fudge. Internment followed at St. James' Anglican cemetery, Barachois Hill. Funeral arrangements in care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.
