FORD, Rodney Augustus (Gus)
(February 3, 1971 - June 21, 2015)
Every person we encounter in our lives touches us in some special way. We feel blessed to have shared in and been touched by the life of Gus Ford. At the same time we are deeply saddened by his tragic and sudden passing. As a husband to Leona and a father to Sara and Jenny he showed endless love and commitment. He will be forever in their hearts. As a son of Rod and Ida Ford, a brother of Linda (Raymond) Spencer and Rhonda (Chris) Whitten, a son-in-law of Hubert and Shirley Vautier, and a brother-in-law of Charlaine (Reg) Lautermilch and Jeanette (Shane) Lomond, he is a cherished part of the family who can never be replaced. His nephews and nieces Tyler, Daniel, Leah, Rachel, Kohl, Ashley, Erica and Tristen looked up to him and respected him, and he always made them laugh. Within his extended family and as a friend and teacher to so many people he is remembered for his fun loving spirit, kind hearted nature, his love of sports and his unique outlook on life. We are comforted by the fact that he will join his sister, Judy Lynn Ford, in heaven along with his grandparents Augustus and Martha Ford and Alpheus and Elizabeth Hardiman, and special uncle Eric Ford. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to East Haven Funeral Home where visitation took place on Wednesday June 24, 7-9 PM and Thursday June 25, 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held at St. James Anglican Church on Friday June 26 at 2 PM officiated by Rev. Kathleen Anderson with interment to follow at Wesley United Cemetery. Flowers are graciously accepted and donations can be made to Wesley United Church. www.easthavenfuneralhome.com
